DAILY LESSON PLAN Class Date Time Venue Attendance

Topic / Theme : Light

Learning Objectives : 5.4 – Understanding lenses.

Learning Outcomes : At the end of the lesson, students can : 1. Explain focal point and focal length and determine their positions on convex and concave lenses. 2. Draw ray diagrams to show the positions and characteristics of images formed by convex and concave lenses. 3. Define magnification as, m = v / u 4. Relate focal length, f, to object distance, u, and image distance, v.

Activities : 1. Teacher asks students to carry out activity by using optical kit to gain an idea about focal point, focal length, magnification and the relationship between u, v, and f. 2. Teacher discusses with the students by using the ray diagram to show the position and characteristics of the images formed by a convex lens and concave lens.

Language Focus : Convex lens, concave lens, focal point, focal length, ray diagram and magnification.

Pedagogy : 1. 2.

TnL approaches : Constructivism and Contextual. TnL methods : Experiment and Discussion.

Values : Being systematic and objective.
