You placean envelopeon the table and then show the cards to each spectator in turn' Thev look and remember the one half-card (that correspondsto the number of cards they each had in hand). Then you ask them to remove from the packet the half-card they have seen.Incrediblythey matchl NoLonly that. a spedator removesthe Dredictionfrom the envelope ând it is seen to be a card that matches the jumbo selectedone!

This is based on a routine by Nick Trost çalled "JumboTwo Way Slip." REOUIRED: You will rcceive 5 jumbo cards cut in half, five small caxdsmatchingthe jumbo oûes and frve envolopes(we think that the 'contrast' with the jumbo and the small cardsmakesfor a nice display). order (Ace, 2, Note that the cards are in prrogressive 3, 4 and 5 for example,ot 4, 5, 6,7 and 8 and so on)i this is intentional as it will be easierfor you to rememberwhich envelopeyou needto removelatel on in the routine. Placethe small cardsinside eaohenvelope S!lU!: and placethe envelopesin your pockets(maybetwo in one and three in another, etc. but rememberwhich is which, as the cards are in progressiveorder you will need to renember just the value and not the suit). The jumbo cards need not be in aûy specific order or sequenoe, actually it is better if they are not in order. PERFORMANCE: Show the five jumbo cards and, if wanted, showthat eachhalf correspondsto another half in the packetforming five completecards.Have

a spectatorshuffle the packet as much as he watts. Invite him 1o give some cards to another spectator and to keep somefor himsell Requircthe two spectators to further shufïle the oardsthey rrow have in their possession.Ask them to do this alwayskeeprng all the cardsfacedown andto count how many cards they have. Take back one packet(say the one on your left) and oasually glimpse the bottom cêrd, then place this packete4lep of the cards of the other spçctatoron the ght. Removethe envelopecontainingthe samecard (the one you glimpsed) from the pocket and place it on the table or give it to a spectatorto hold. Tell the two spectatorsthat you will show them the cards and they have to look artd rcmemberthe card that corr€spondsto the number of cards they were holding. If one had 7 cardsarld the other had 3, one will look at the 7th cad and the secotd at the 3rd and so on. Tell tiem thât they do not have to stop you when they seethe calds and to let you go until you haveexhaustedthe entirepacket.

It is important that the spectatoron your dght does NOT seethe cards while you axeshowing them to lhespecEloron your leRandviceversa. Holding the ten hâlÊcards face down in your left hand, with your right hand take the top card of the packet and tilt it in a vertical position so you can show it to the spectatoron your left; the one who gaveyou the cardsflom whioh you glimpsedthe bottom one. After he has seenthe card, place it face down on the table. With the same moves, show the second caxd and place it on top of the first tabled card. Continue in this way until you have shown to the spectatornine cards one on top of the other on the table (thus reversingtheir order). After you have shown the tenth card, simply and casually, slide it under the other cards and pick up the entirepacket. This is the only move ofthe routine (if you waût to call it a move!). At this point the fiIst spectatorshouldhaverememberedhis card. Repeatthe samething with the secondspectatoland he will takenote of a half-cardas well. Actually, due to this simple principle, they will look at THE SAME I{ALF CARD.Isn't this beautitul?! Give the entre packet to the first spectatorand ask him to removethe half card he has seen.Tell him to give the cards to the secondsp€ctatorand he rcmovesthe half he has seer. Tell them to place the two halÊcaxdsface down on the table next to each other. Invite them to tum them face up ard they match (examplein figure lig. 1). First grealeffecl! Invite the other spectatorto removethe card tom dre envelope and it will be seen that it matches the jumbo cârd (lig. 2). Secondgreateffect! Everythingcanbe examined.
