A Message from the Artist/Author I have always felt a strong connection with animals; they communicate with me in life and even follow me into my dreams. The interaction between humans and animals is so important for the evolution of our universe. They have many lessons to teach us, especially that there is more than one way to love. Since I believe nothing is random and everything has meaning, then the animals we attract into our consciousness have important information for us to hear. I see myself (and these cards) as translating messages of wisdom, support, and love. The animals that appear in this deck found their way to me through life and synchronicity. They either appeared to me in visions or were the favorite of countless people who came into my life. I then drew, painted, and printed them; the cards in this deck are derived from those drawings, watercolors, and monotypes. I have been researching animal symbolism for decades— including information from different cultural beliefs as well as scientific research. The final messages that appear in this book are a synthesis of that research and the clairaudient messages (or downloads) I receive from my soul connection to universal love. If you are reading these words you are open to the new energies and vibrations occurring around you. You might even call yourself a lightworker or soulworker. You are becoming more mindful of your actions and are evolving (and ascending) to the new heartbased consciousness. Be patient with yourself and others as we all experience this new phase together. How to Use the Animal Love Oracle Cards There are several ways you can work with the Animal Love Oracle deck, and there is no one “right” way. When you work with the cards take time to shuffle them to clear the energy and prepare the deck for your reading. While shuffling, look very briefly at each card to make a special connection with its positive message. Another clearing technique is to hold the cards in your hands and focus on positive intentions such as: “I am open and ready to receive the wisdom of Source, my higher self, and/or my angels.” Some people like to smudge their new decks (or ones used for a long time) with sage, rosemary, or palo santo. Whether you are reading for yourself or others, clearing your deck is an important first step. Next, find an area that feels comfortable and spacious enough to spread the cards out. It may be helpful to light a candle and/or play music to shift the room’s energy, but it is not necessary. When you are ready, sit quietly and connect into your center. You can take this time to quiet your mind by taking at least three deep cleansing breaths, breathing in the healing light of unconditional love and breathing out any stale energy no longer needed. In your mind, ask the question that brings you to the reading today. To best work with the energy of the cards, avoid “yes” or “no” questions. Instead ask questions that clarify the energy around a particular situation or are open-ended to bring in all possibilities. An example would be to ask “What is it that I most need to know at this time?” or “What is the energy around this situation [describe the situation specifically]?” or “What do I most need to know for my own healing?” Shuffle the cards as you ask your question or,

if you don’t have a question, just allow Divine Love and Light to give you a message. Whatever message you receive will always be for your highest and best self. It is up to you to choose how you select your card. You can take the card from the top or elsewhere in the deck or spread the cards out on a table and let your hand be guided to the card that calls to you. Whatever way feels right to you will be the best way. It is important to understand that these cards have the same meaning regardless of how they show up when you turn them over. There is no negative interpretation in reverse; the message is the same. If you use the cards to read for another, have them shuffle the deck as well to put their energy into the cards. Because your energy is also there most often the message received has meaning for both. That is how the animal messages of love work. You can pull one card or work with a three-card spread where the leftmost card would represent the past, the middle card would represent the present and the rightmost card would represent the future or the outcome to the question. You can also pull a fourth card for separate representations of the future and the outcome:

Just as you would with a tarot deck, you can use any spreads found in tarot books, following the meaning of the placements in order to yield the interpretation. The most common way of working with the cards is the one card reading, and it is a recommended spiritual practice to pull one card daily for yourself to see what message Divine Love and Light have for you that day. practice of working with the cards will heighten your intuition and keep you connected to the mystery of the Universe.

Affirmations and Wild Cards At the end of each animal message are three affirmations that are designed to trigger reflective insights. The number three was chosen because it resonates with the energies of creation and completion. These affirmations are positive thoughts in the present tense focusing on abundance, prosperity, and peace. Use these affirmations to help shift you from existing limited thoughts and patterns. Repetition is key. The more you repeat the affirmations, silently and aloud, the more you integrate them into your conscious and shift your current timeline. I have also included two wild cards in this deck. These are mythological creatures that don’t exist in this dimension as we know it. I felt compelled to include them. Since they don’t play by our limiting rules, anything they say is possible!

Bat Awakening, Initiation, and Inner Depth Your Message The card you have selected shows a bat flying towards you, its colony following close by. The bat’s appearance can be quite intimidating. But don’t make any assumptions about it. Once you let yourself get past its outer form and your preconceptions, you will realize how truly commanding and transformative a creature it is. This critter is not for the weak of heart. It is an omen that it is time to wake up from the long spell you have been under. You are ready—­emotionally, physically, and spiritually—to go through the initiation process necessary for your evolution. The bat invites you to undergo enormous changes—breaking down all the former notions of the self you thought you knew to redefine who you are and why you are here. It speeds up the process of clearing away layers of confusion and illusion, allowing you to find your true calling in life. The process is often referred to as the “Shaman’s Death” because it is life-changing. Since the bat’s night vision is so efficient, it has become a metaphor for seeing through the darkness of illusion (that which obscures what we hide from others and ourselves). This is why the bat is also a symbol of intuition and the dream world. When the bat leaves the safety of its cave, it does not journey

alone—it flies with others. This flying mammal’s crucial message is to remind you that everything we do and think affects others; in fact, it touches the next seven generations! The decisions you make now will affect your children and your children’s children. Be reflective and thoughtful and change what could be considered unconscious or unbalanced behavior. Fly with the bat and love everyone you meet, no matter what their story; they only reflect you. You will be tested but, with the bat as your faithful companion, you will succeed. Know that you are part of a group of evolved souls that have come here to shift the Earth. Be courageous and follow the bat for a deeper and richer heart-path life experience. Bear Courage, Power, and Mindful Leadership Your Message The card you have selected shows a brown bear standing in its power. The bear has been worshipped since ancient times for its wisdom, authority, and commanding energy. Although the bear can be intimidating and frightful to humans, it is a very gentle, playful, and loving parent. Like the bear, you need to balance power and sensitivity. When you do this, you will have the strength and confidence to be the leader you know you are. Because the bear hibernates over winter and reemerges in the spring, it is associated with renewal, rebirth, and regaining one’s balance. Now is a good time for you to ground yourself by resting, meditating, and getting enough sleep. Grounding is a way to connect with ancient cellular programming (also known as your soul plan), allowing you to remember what you came here to do. When you ask the bear for help and guidance, it answers clairaudiently via your intuition. Hear the spirit of the bear gently guide you with positive and loving thoughts. About the Author Nadine Gordon-Taylor has had the ability to channel and experience other beings since childhood. She maintains two galleries (Third Eye Arts and SIA Gallery) in the town of Peekskill, New York. There she sells her art and runs a weekly New Age support group. Born in New York City, she studied at the Art Students League while attending high school and college. She earned a BA with a concentration in printmaking and art history at Hunter College and her MFA in painting from Long Island University. Her EdD in Art is from Columbia University. She has studied comparative religion and alternative healing modalities to help inform her art. Before embarking on her journey as an intuitive artist and working with universal and intuitive symbols, Nadine focused on photorealist drawings and paintings of her shadow—integrating, embracing, and honoring her dark side.
