You may have wondered about this.

Is it possible that you could be a Vampire and be unaware of this fact?

This is not a silly question to ask. It is, in fact, an important one.

The Temple claims that if you follow the instructions in The Vampire Bible you can discover if you are, indeed, a Vampire.

The wonderful thing about the Temple is that you do not have to believe any of our Nightside claims.

However if you are willing to put our claims to the test you will discover they are true.

That is why we openly publish The Vampire Bible and offer its initial instructions.

When someone is serious enough to purchase this basic book and mature enough to follow the instructions then we know they will obtain results.

We have many, many members who have applied this simple guideline to discover that what the Temple offers is true and valid.

Other “religions” commonly require that you "just believe" their claims.

All of Christianity requires that you just have faith and believe. So too does Judaism and Islam.

Even the Buddhists expect you to believe that the Buddha had it right when he stated that "lifeis suffering".

The Temple does not require that you believe any of our claims.

Instead we ask you to do something amazingly different.

We ask you to test our claims.

When you, yourself, test and verify the Temple's claims then you will have proof - not just hope.

We are confident that if you set aside your fears and disbelief just long enough to actually follow the instructions in ‘The Vampire Bible,’ then you will discover what so many others have learned.

It works.

It is true.

"Test Everything, Believe Nothing."

The Temple's motto reveals how everything in this religion is based on personal validation of experience and is not faith-based. Faith-based religions are the common norm. In faith-based religions you are given specific beliefs you are expected to accept as true ...without evidence or personal experience.

For example as we approach Christmas we are reminded of the common beliefs of the various Christian religions. The Nicene Creed is just such a group of beliefs which include the claims that Jesus is the only son of God, the creator of everything, who came from heaven through a virgin birth, was killed, rose from the dead, returned to heaven, and will return in the future to earth to judge everyone who has ever lived.

So to follow this version of this faith-based religion you need to believe all of these things (and more) because you are told to. Not because you have any evidence these things are correct. Not because it feels good to believe these things. No, you are expected to just believe they are true because that is what a faith-based religion requires.

Interestingly enough, most efforts to convert someone to a faith-based religion are not based on telling you this. Usually there will be many reasons offered for why you should believe these things. These reasons will often include the threat that if you don't then you will go to hell or suffer in some manner. Another reason commonly offered is that other people have had miracles in their lives that "prove" that these beliefs must be true. There are numerous such reasons offered but at heart a faith-based religion is based on faith that what they tell you to believe is true and you simply must choose to believe it.

We don't do that.

To the contrary, the Vampire religion asks you to look at the Nightside ideas that we suggest are true - the existence of Lifeforce, the reality of the out of body experience (The OBE), the reality of advanced practitioners of the OBE (the Undead Gods), the

reality of magic, the reality of your Innermost Self (the Dragon) - and then acquire personal experiences to verify that these things are correct.

We don't argue with people about why they should accept these ideas as real. We do offer evidence to help those interested in testing these ideas with us to be more inclined to follow through and do so.

For example, we commonly point out that the experience of Lifeforce and the taking of Lifeforce (Vampirism) is found under many names and throughout history. We note how the OBE is also a common experience mentioned over and over in the medicallydocumented reports of near death experiences (the NDE), deathbed visions of the dead, and so forth.

However these numerous examples offering evidence are not intended to convince anyone to "just believe" in these things. Instead, we ask all followers of the Nightside of this religion to prove it to themselves.

And when you do so, you go beyond mere "faith" or "hope" and attain something far more important - KNOWLEDGE.

For example, the first time you stand fully conscious outside of your physical body the impact this has on your view of what is real can, by itself, be a life-changing experience. When you also obtain objective evidence that the OBE actually happened (by acquiring evidence you can check) then you are operating from validated knowledge.

There are many such tests to be performed to validate the Nightside claims of the Temple but the critical issue is this: we are not operating from faith, but from validated experience.

To flip this over for perspective, consider the viewpoint of the person who thinks that all such things are "bunk". What is the point in arguing with such a closed mind? If you have verified these things for yourself and validated their objectivity it really does not matter what the cynic thinks, does it?

Do you realize that the cynic who claims to "know" that the OBE is "bunk" is doing so based on FAITH! When you have proven to yourself that the OBE is real, and he is busy proclaiming that it "can't" be real, the cynic is having to ultimately base his disbelief on faith in his REASONING. You are basing your knowledge on personally validated EXPERIENCE.

So those who follow faith-based religions include those who claim to be "certain" that things you have PROVEN to yourself to be real, are not real.

In other words, when you encounter anyone who denies as real what you have already proven to be real, you are dealing with someone who is a member of a faithbased perspective.

We base all that we do here in our Nightside on the rock-solid base of personally validated experience.

This is not a faith-based religion.

This is a “religion” based on what is verifiable.

There is no need to try to argue with the true believer or the true disbeliever.

Verify what is so and then you will KNOW.

The recent popularization and rewriting of the Hollywood vampire has had a humorous effect. Once again we see sheep in wolves’ clothing prancing about and offering high entertainment for us to enjoy.

It is equally amusing to see the human pretenders in the last stages of the current fad who will attempt to dress and use makeup in a bizarre imitation of the Hollywood films which are, themselves, bizarre imitations of what popular fantasy writers created over the last century.

Yet is there anything to it?

In a word, no.

The ethics of so-called modern vampire fiction remain firmly embedded within the deathist morality of the Judeo-Christian culture. Vampires are “cursed” with eternal life and are sad and pathetic creatures who are driven by urges beyond their control to kill and kill again.

The usual rubbish.

Anne Rice renewed this angst view of the immortal vampire in her novels and produced a series of neurotic sighing and sad immortals such as her Louis, or somewhat mindless and compulsive hedonists such as her Lestat. Then the self-perpetuating copy machine of

Hollywood screenwriters continued the themes with everything from more films to made-for-television vampire soap operas. The height of this elevated cultural fare is found with such immortal works such as “Buffy the Vampire Killer” and the never-ending television weekly programs.

Yet what drives this entire industry is the actuality of the sheer nobility of the true predator to which these weak forms of fiction must turn before they then eviscerate the power and majesty through apology. It is because predators are admirable for their many qualities that this peculiar fad of the weak vampire has come about.

One example of this is the different between cats and rabbits.

Cats and rabbits share many qualities. Both have beautiful coats of fur. Both can move with great speed. Both have keen senses of smell and hearing. Both are approximately the same size.

Yet the differences are dramatic.

Cats, like all mammal and bird predators have forward vision. They can see with depth perception to better identify the distance to leap on prey.

Rabbits, like all mammal and bird prey, have eyes to the side where they can watch in all directions for the sudden movement of a predator.

Cats, like their vision, are focused and intelligent. They must be able to act with precision and this requires grace for the highest efficiency of motion.

Rabbits, like their vision, are unfocused and rather stupid. They need only graze for their food and be able to make rapid efforts of escape such that grace is unimportant.

Thus while the outer appearance of cats and rabbits are similar, the critical issues regarding their behavior, perception and intelligence are distinctly different.

In the same way the human beings who now dress and behave like the current weak Hollywood vampire mimic the surface appearance of what they believe the real item to be but only reveal the depths of their prey consciousness.

Cats are not rabbits.

And the rabbits know this whenever cats are present.

From time to time I hear about members who feel frustrated in their attempts to apply the Temple Teachings, Dayside or Nightside.

I seldom if ever hear from these members directly. I have been told this is because they are afraid of some kind of retribution or chastisement from me.

Folks, I don't do that and I don't need to do that.

Reality will always kick your bottom harder than I ever possibly could. Reality will always thrust its face up against yours and shout, "Guess what! I am in charge here!"

So here is my message to all those here who are not taking actions on their own behalf and are grousing about how the Temple is not meeting their expectations:

Why are you doing this to you?

If you are not happy with your current job, what have you done today to look into the Dayside Money Secrets to find a better career?

If you are not happy with your current state of health then what have you done today to improve it?

If you are not happy with your current relationships with others whether social or romantic then what have you done today to apply the Interpersonal Secrets with those already around you?

If you are not happy with how your life seems to be limited and frustrating then what have you done today to secure physical immortality for yourself so that your life become unlimited?

If you are not happy with your current Nightside experiences with Lifeforce, lucid dreaming, the OBE, Communion, or Magic then what have you done today to attain these masteries?

When I used to teach street self-defense I used to ask my students to distinguish between when their bodies were complaining or just whining.

If your body is complaining that is often a warning that you are nearing injury and need to back off.

If your body is whining that is usually best dealt with by renewed effort.

The same is true for your mind and emotions.

For example, if your mind is complaining with acute fears then it is wise to deal with the possible cause of those fears.

However if your mind is just whining it is wiser to take charge and do it anyway.

The universe rewards action.

The universe ignores whining.

In this Temple we have proven methods to revolutionize your life and enable you to operate as a God.

These are all tools that can and will work ...if you apply them.

All around us are approximately seven billion whiners. They complain about everything that is wrong and seldom if ever do anything about it.

They complain about the weather ...instead of preparing for it.

They complain about their jobs ...instead of finding better ones.

They complain about their health ...instead of eating and exercising better.

They complain about life itself being unfair ...instead of securing physical immortality.

They complain about other people ...instead of taking action themselves in the areas of life over which they do have control.

No, folks, I am not the person to worry about when it comes to such things.

You are.

So try this.

For the next week every time you are about to complain about something ask yourself, "Is there anything I can do about it?"

If there is then do it.

If there isn't then stop complaining about it.

Just stop.

Watch how much the power of your own Lifeforce increases directly in your own experience when you follow this simple plan. Are you whining or winning? I urge you to start winning.

Now what can you do today?

REPROGRAM YOUR EMOTIONS

Emotions are not givens. They do not just happen to us and then we have to treat them as Gods rather than just what they are - signals that indicate the summaries of our former thinking.

Emotions come from our thoughts.

If you were brought up in ancient Sparta you might view the actions of forcing a child to run to exhaustion as part of what is required to "toughen" him for survival in combat.

We may disagree with such a view but there have existed entire cultures with what you and I would consider anti-human ethics. We were brought up in a culture that considers such actions to be criminal and/or abusive. Because of that we tend to have emotional reactions to such things as disgust.

However, and this is a critically important and useful idea to test out and use, events that are highly frustrating also require demanding that such things do not happen and then globally generalizing a value to the perpetrators such that we "hate" them and damn them.

Anger and hate do not just happen automatically. We learn to hate. We learn what we will feel anger toward.

Anger and hatred are almost always inappropriate emotions to feel.

The physiology of anger can be seen in newborns. An infant can exhibit all of the same reactions

we associate with rage: tensing of the body, narrowing of the eyes, screaming, wild movements, etc. These reactions seem to serve the purpose of blindly fighting for our lives when we cannot run away or hide (the overall fight-or-flight response).

However, as has been documented through careful military research, rage decreases the likelihood of your survival in most cases because it reduces your ability to think, produces tunnel vision and reduced hearing, as well as cuts you off from fine motor coordination needed to do such things as push buttons, turn keys, etc.).

And in most of our living in a civilized world rage only causes us more problems. Domestic violence comes from rage and you only need ask law enforcement officers about what calls they dread the most to learn that "domestics" lead the list. Rage makes us do stupid things that in our day-to-day world can cost us jobs, create needless arguments, and essentially do precisely the opposite of what Dale Carnegie suggests for success in life.

Emotions can make excellent servants but terrible masters.

Emotions are super-rapid unconscious evaluations that we feel somewhere in our body to clue us in to what we decided was right or wrong in the past.

Emotions summarize our past learning in an instant.

And we can reprogram our emotional reactions by changing our thinking.

In other words we can learn better ways to react to things in our lives.

I am not suggesting that anyone can deprogram all anger or rage in favor of only frustration. We have all had a lifetime exposure of learning how we are "supposed" to react to things. From our parents, our teachers, our friends, films, television, novels, we have had decades of programming to tell us that mindless rage is "right" when someone does X. We are programmed to feel anger, or despair, or depression, or jealousy, or hatred when X happens.

But X does not cause these feelings.

Our thoughts about X cause these feelings.

And if our previous thinking leads to emotions that do not serve us then we can choose to think differently and, in time, sometimes very swiftly, our emotions will change in response to the same kinds of circumstances.

This all boils down to a reminder that you are not your emotions.

That fact allows you to choose whether to do what the emotion demands or what YOU prefer to

do instead.

That also allows you to then decide if that kind of emotional reaction is really helping you or only making your life miserable.

For example, there are children starving to death somewhere in the world right now. If your emotional reaction to this makes you miserable rather than just sad or frustrated then the misery is something you can reprogram.

You perhaps can't remove all starvation of children in the world but you can change your emotional reactions to that fact.

The choice is always yours on these issues.

The lie we are told is that you have no choice.

The truth is that with the right tools you do have other choices.

Many such tools are offered in the Temple.

So it is not "wrong" to give in to hatred or rage or jealousy. But usually it is not very useful and can often make life incredibly difficult for you.

There is another way to live.

We offer that here as just one part of the Vampire path to mastery.

And if we define "human" as one who believes he is a slave to his emotions then we are striving here to rise above that to attain personal mastery - the transhuman condition.

I hope this offers some help on this difficult and alien to the herd kind of perspective.

It is the highest application of Willpower that I am aware of to make just these kinds of changes.

We live in a world filled by emotionally-driven, whining, spitting, growling immature children no matter their age in years.

We seek to attain maturity and personal power.

We seek mastery.

THE HERD'S LOVE OF THE ZERO SUM GAME

A zero sum game is a game in which the winnings are fixed and limited, such as a poker game in

which the money the players bring to the table is all that can be lost or won. So in a zero sum game there is no growth, no production of additional rewards. If someone gets something then someone else has to lose it.

The belief in the world as a zero sum game is the primary faith of the herd of mankind. Six examples drawn from the Six Dayside Secrets can demonstrate this.

IMMORTALITY

The religious beliefs of the herd always assume that if someone wants to stay alive forever that this will only come at the expense of others as well as one's own happiness.

If you live long enough they believe that the amount of happiness you could experience will be used up so that you will inevitably face a life filled with boredom and despair.

Of course my usual reply to that nonsense is to ask someone when their next sexual orgasm will be "boring"!

Only God or Allah or Big Juju is allowed to be immortal and not suffer for it. If you want to live forever that is obviously against what God intended. After all, if God wanted you to fly he would have given you wings. (Just ignore all those aircraft flying all over the world at this moment).

And, of course, this zero sum game with regard to immortality is reflected in all of the popular vampire fiction we see today. The only way you can live forever is by killing other people, they say. And they say it over and over again. What nonsense!

SURVIVAL

If you want to protect yourself and those you love from disasters or muggings or starvation then the herd will condemn this as well.

After all, if you store food and water to survive an emergency then that is "hoarding". The food and water you stored over time was obviously stolen from other people. You bastard!

If you are attacked by some low life dirtbag and you kill him with a handgun there are many, many people quick to condemn you as having planned a premeditated murder. After all guns (and knives, and any other item that can be used as a weapon) kill people. If you had not bought a gun then that poor underprivileged moron who attacked you would have lived on to perhaps find a cure for cancer.

Sure.

After all there is only so much life to go around and if you killed someone to save your own life that is murder (and if they do it to you then that is God's will or fate).

MONEY

If you are rich you had to steal it from poor people.

The herd is 100% into Robin Hood as a hero and people who build businesses as evil thieves who want to twirl their mustaches while laughing at widows and orphans dying homeless in the winter snow.

When it comes to private property (which is what wealth is all about) the herd thinks that what you own should be redistributed equally to all.

They have no conception of how productivity increases wealth. The business owners they hate and believe are stealing from them are the same people that create jobs so that they can have a salary at all!

The masses believe that capitalism is a zero sum game and that anyone who is rich took it from the poor.

Of course the opposite is true. If someone invents a better tool such as the smartphone then the wealth of the entire world increases exponentially. Things that people could not do suddenly they

can do, such as people at jobs in Nigeria who used to have to take two days off each week to carry their paycheck home every month but now can simply use internet banking. (See the book "Abundance" for numerous such examples).

HEALTH

The herd assumes that if you can afford the best health care then you are depriving others of that option. This reflects the zero sum game view as applied to money but the fact remains that if you have enough money you can still buy better health care than if you are poor.

However it certainly does not deprive anyone else from doing the same thing. Doctors have to eat too and if they were forced to offer their services without pay there would swiftly be very few doctors left anywhere.

But the masses have this fantasy that there is a zero sum game with regard to health care. After all there are only so many hospitals, doctors, and other medical personnel in the world.

Of course, this assumes that nothing can every get better than it is. Lab-On-A-Chip can perform thousands of lab tests in minutes ...without requiring more than one person to do it. This technology already exists and is only one of many, many examples.

The fact is that the health care "pie" is growing faster than the eaters. But the whining herd does not want to admit that!

SOCIAL CONTROL

This is where the herd psychosis of the zero sum game goes off the charts.

The herd believes that if you have a close relationship that you can only maintain that relationship by demanding unswerving loyalty no matter how both of you may change over time.

In most parts of the world adultery is punishable by death, and I do not just mean legally, but in active practice. The man who kills his girlfriend or wife as well as her lover (or suspected lover) is not an unusual crime and you need merely look at the newspaper where you live for daily examples.

Jealousy stems from a zero sum game view of life. After all, that is why an affair is called "cheating". For the herd a committed relationship is not one which comes from appreciation for the values of the partner and they are always ready to assume that they will be "cheated on" since after all there are only a limited number of people in the world they could love.

Of course, for those rare few who learn how to build a relationship based on mutual respect, this issue of a zero sum game in relationships seems silly at best.

SELF CONTROL

Willpower, self-determination, free will. The herd assumes that you only have so much of that to use.

If you want to quit smoking and can't do it the herd will tell you it is because you don't have "enough willpower". Why, if those damned cigarette companies didn't create those addictive things then you would not be tempted beyond what you can resist.

After all, you can only have so much strength to resist such things and if someone tricks you with clever advertising they are really stealing your limited supply of willpower, right?

Sure.

Realizing that you can build in an unlimited fashion all the self-mastery you wish rather than assuming you only have some much to use up opens the door to an unlimited game called "How To Master Your Life".

And while the herd finds ways to blame others for individual failures of will, which plays into the zero

sum game once again, the fact of the matter is that you can always learn and improve given enough time.

Which returns us to immortalism versus deathism once again.

If you assume you have a limited life span then the ideas about a life being a zero sum game seem true.

If you assume that because you are, you always shall be, then the infinite riches of the universe open to you.

Then you get to play the Infinite Sum Game of Eternity.

And that is a game well worth playing.

WHAT DO VAMPIRES

We have many treasures in this Temple to reward the mind, body, and emotions.

The Vampire as our symbol is one who takes in life.

We do not passively just "kill time" waiting for something that may or may not happen.

We do not wait for permission to enjoy life, to live life, to feel fully and completely alive.

We actively and consciously take in life - all of its diverse and healthy pleasures which is also what the romance of the Vampire is all about.

I still find it amusing that Hollywood keeps missing this fundamental theme. They continue to portray the Vampire as a pathetic, doomed murderer and yet none of that is really why the Vampire has such popular appeal.

The attraction of the Vampire is "never having to say die" while continuing to say "Yes!" to life.

The attraction of the Vampire is to enjoy living first and foremost!

And this Temple simply recognizes that if an individual chooses to Vampirize life by working to gain control and eventual mastery of six critical issues in life (self-control, socialcontrol, survival, health, wealth, and defeating death) then there is SO MUCH MORE that opens for the enjoyment of life.

Most people are defeated by life. You see them all around us. They are miserable in their complaints. They suffer from their fears of loss. They commonly seek to blame others, whether that's the government, their parents, their children, the other drivers on the road, whatever.

But if you awoke one morning to discover that your life was exactly the most perfect way it could be, if you had a miracle happen and you could live without nagging fears, grinding anger, or depressive pessimism, what would that feel like?

And how would you behave differently on such a morning? How would you hold yourself? What would you do? How would your relationships be different?

This Temple is devoted to enabling every member to wake up on that morning and experience that kind of life.

We are Vampires.

We actively take in life.

That is what Vampires do.

And we love it.

CONTEXT IS EVERYTHING!

Most day to day questions are easy to answer.

What is your name? Where do you live? What is your favorite color?

The really important questions in life are not always so easy or simple.

In fact, the truly fundamental questions about reality itself still stump the best physicists in the world.

Three hundred years ago, most scientists assumed that the current scientific view of the world, Newtonian classical physics, was virtually complete and only a few small mysteries remained to be solved.

Then the validation of quantum mechanics combined with the verification of nonlocality (Bell's Theorem) demonstrated that the fundamentals of reality were so strange that some physicists wondered if it was even possible for the human mind to understand them.

Whereas the Newtonian view was that you could measure an objective reality and predict absolutely what will happen with enough information, quantum mechanics demonstrated that you cannot separate the act of observation (measurement) from the universe at all. Perfect objectivity is not possible. When you observe something (measure it) you have caused it to "be" a certain way.

Additionally, Newton's view of the universe completely rejected the "spooky" idea of things being influenced without touching. (When asked about gravity, Newton refused to even comment!).

Yet, Bell's Theorem has been proven to be correct and this means that there does exist instant influences on things that can occur with no contact at all.

(For a truly excellent overview of this see Nick Herbert's popular book Quantum Reality).

So some questions that common sense would suggest answers to are simply wrong.

"Is a single light photon a particle or a wave?"

There are three correct answers:

1. It is a particle. 2. It is a wave. 3. It is both.

"Does the universe consist of matter and energy separated by space or is the universe a single thing with no separation at all?"

There are three correct answers:

1. It is made of separate things. 2. It is all one thing. 3. It is both.

The Temple has taken the fact that there are some questions that require multiple answers, some seemingly contradictory in nature, very seriously.

That is why we offer a triune metaphysics.

Metaphysics is that branch of philosophy that deals with questions about the nature of reality.

Our metaphysics consists of three perspectives: Dayside, Nightside, and Twilight.

Each perspective needs to be applied in the correct context to be of any use.

The Dayside perspective deals with a more common sense, everyday view of reality that Isaac Newton would have felt fairly comfortable with.

The Dayside assumes that space and time exist, and that cause and effect can be potentially measured. This is the usual view of reality of the average person.

The Nightside perspective assumes, at a minimum, that there is an additional "force" at work in the universe which can be manipulated which we call Lifeforce, and that this force may be involved with a number of ordinary and so-called "paranormal" experiences.

The Twilight perspective assumes that time and space may be illusions, much as time and space in a dream at night are illusions, and that awareness of the fact can alter events as well as change one's self-perception (the Dragon).

However, what is "true" from one perspective is not always "true" from another perspective.

And the amazing discoveries in physics over the last century have demonstrated that observation (perspective) can evidently alter the nature of what you experience as reality.

For example, if you attempt to take a Dayside perspective of quantum mechanics experiments you can discover that the events do happen and your Dayside perspective knows this cannot be true.

It is important to understand this to grasp why the Temple looks at reality in three different ways.

Any one perspective will not allow you to usefully deal with all of reality. Just one viewpoint is inadequate.

This is the conundrum of many scientists, especially in psychology, who continue to deny the evidence for so-called "psychic" phenomena. They are assuming that the Dayside can explain all that is and "obviously" events that defy the Dayside perspective (precognition especially) cannot be real.

On the extreme flipside, mystics who would assume a Twilight perspective alone, such as found in East Indian Vedanta which denies that there is anything other than "oneness" making up everything, commonly find that dealing with the ordinary world does not work well at all.

The Temple suggests that the only reasonable answer is to apply the perspective that is appropriate to the context.

If you are dealing with the ordinary, day to day world of cars, people, money, government, etc. then the Dayside perspective is almost always the most effective perspective to take.

If you are striving to deal with "paranormal" issues such as ESP, the OBE, etc. then the Nightside perspective is most usually the most effective perspective to take.

If you are wanting to penetrate to the core of who you really are and gaining a sense of secure mastery over your experiences then the Twilight perspective is usually the best choice.

However - AND THIS IS CRITICAL TO UNDERSTAND - you need to keep each in context to get the correct results in each category!

So the pursuit of the OBE allows for the idea that other people could be effectively using the OBE. Hence the Temple suggest the value of attempting to "Commune" with these "Undead". That is a Nightside perspective.

But if you are asked in a Dayside context, "Are the Undead real" and you reply from a Nightside perspective "Yes", then your answer is incorrect from the Dayside perspective even if it is correct from the Nightside.

Or if you are asked in a Dayside context, "Do you believe in ghosts, UFOs, alien civilizations, ESP, etc.?" and you reply "Yes" to any of those from a Nightside perspective then your context is wrong and therefore so is your answer.

One of the main reasons we stratified this message board with the Dayside open to all, and the Nightside and Twilight restricted to the five Graded forum categories was in recognition of this fact.

This is also a major reason why members of our religion are required to not discuss the Temple in public or with those who are not active members.

The "public" expects that there is only one "true" answer to any question.

THIS IS SIMPLY INCORRECT.

It requires quite a bit of intelligent effort, testing, and experience before someone can begin to understand what we are talking about here without trying to jam it into a single viewpoint, usually a Dayside viewpoint.

The subject of this article is covered in far greater depth in Revelations but I just wanted to add one more very important point.

We do not have to know which theoretical perspective in physics will turn out to be the "correct" one.

All we need to recognize is that reality cannot be adequately described as it is with only the Dayside perspective AND that we choose which perspective best describes what is real based upon the context.

If you are speaking to a non-member and are asked a question, remember that context is everything.

And if you, yourself, are asking yourself a question, the same thing applies.

Context is everything!

The value of a potentially immortal as opposed to the value of a mortal is beyond measure.

No matter what criteria you choose to make such an evaluation, it is all a matter of time.

Love. When you have an unending life how many times and how much love will you experience?

Money. Laughter. Wisdom. Curiosity.

And how about the usual justifications for a person's value?

Contributions to society? Inventions. Disease cures. Educational breakthroughs. Answers to the problems others experience.

Take just one simple example. At a funeral for an obstetrician who died at age 92 I heard how he brought children into the world and saved the lives of both mothers and babies for over sixty years.

So the societal value of that doctor was far greater than a doctor who delivered babies for only one year and was hit by a car.

Right?

So what would the value be of a doctor who did not age but lived on for centuries compared to the one-year car victim's career?

Immortalists are worth more than other people.

Find one and you find gold.

Create one and you create potentially infinite wealth for the universe.

Mortal life is still short but it is also cheap.

We are worth more than they are.

In fact just one of us is worth more than the entire other seven billion mortals who are currently alive on this planet.

Just do the math.

If the current 7 billion lived 100 years but YOU lived 700,000,000,001 years you would have had more time than all of them put together to do things of value to yourself and others.

And you wouldn't have to spend two years learning to walk and talk, and ten years learning the rules of society, and ten more years to learn the REAL rules of society (if you were lucky) over and over again.

You would retain your maturity and growing wisdom the longer you lived.

You would be worth far more than all of them put together.

This does not justify any mistreatment of these poor demented souls any more than we can justify mistreating animals just because they don't live as long as we might.

However it is a sobering thought to realize that your real value as an individual may very well be priceless, infinite.

Like a God.

LIVE WITHOUT FEAR

We do not prepare because we live in fear.

We do it to live without fear.

When we fasten a seatbelt we don't do it because of fear.

We do it to drive without the fear of an accident.

Everything we do in this religion is to face a possible fear and remove it from our lives.

Most of these actions only require doing once.

Create a bug-out bag for evacuation from your home just once and it is done.

At most you only need to then replace batteries, etc. over time.

Same with money. Determine how much you need to achieve financial freedom, break down that goal into believable steps, and launch your project. You only need to do it one time.

Same with health. Same with social control secrets. Same with self control secrets. Same with immortality. Same with everything Dayside.

And what of the Nightside? The same is true there as well.

Have just one objectively verified out of body experience and you will never again have the same fear of death or loss.

Demonstrate to yourself just once that the Temple's mental technology called "magic" really works and you will never again feel the fear of lacking control over your life and experiences.

Get the job done and it is finished.

ABOUT THE UNDEAD GODS

The Temple commonly attracts new members who are atheists and agnostics. Sometimes they read about the Undead Gods and assume that to be a member of the Temple requires that you believe in God or Gods.

That is not true.

Our Dayside view of reality is the common sense, ordinary view of reality that does not bother with anything paranormal or superstitious.

And we have members who never leave the Dayside perspective at all!

Our Nightside which involves the paranormal and the Undead Gods is not a part of our Dayside.

Remember that the Temple, like modern quantum physics, states that you cannot account for the whole of reality with only one perspective. Light is both a particle and a wave even though that is "impossible".

So to be an agnostic or atheist is just fine until Second Circle. The Nightside goal of the Temple is to become an Undead God yourself. If you don't bother with the Nightside then this goal is irrelevant to you, real or not.

Only those members who apply for Second Circle are required to drop their disbelief in the Undead. We require this because the goal of Second Circle is to prove Their reality which cannot be done if you already strongly disbelieve in Their possibility.

This is because of the psychology of perception. What you look for is quite literally what you can see:

So if someone has a strong disbelief in the Undead then that disbelief will actually block the ability to perceive Them. To perceive something new to your experience like that is an act of learning.

You learned to see, hear, and feel things. People born blind whose sight is suddenly restored still cannot yet see objects. They have to learn to do so.

"The Dream Life is the Only Life"

In these seven simple words the first sutra in the Shurpu Kishpu contains the core of the Twilight Temple Teachings.

The human herd views the universe as separate and objective. The human perspective is to believe that the world is real and his own mind and fantasies and thoughts and wishes and hopes are somehow not real.

What follows is, as always, not something for you to believe or understand but to experience and validate.

This First Grand Division of Self and Other creates the illusion that the world is objective and “out there” where as the personality is actually formed and nurtured within the Dream humans call “reality”.

When a new member comes to the Temple they bring with them all the cultural beliefs of the human world. They are saturated with the assumptions which “everybody knows” is true.

What is truly amusing is how few of these assumptions are correct to any extent at all and, further, how these very same assumptions inhibit and enslave the human being.

The first sutra is the clarion call to the member to Awaken.

The mystics of the world who “embrace” this fundamental that All is a Dream will then denigrate the Dream and delude themselves into seeking the “real” world somewhere outside the Dream.

This is identical in nature to final death.

There is no “outside”.

For example, the Dream is called “maya” in the Hindu view. Maya is held by them to be an illusion and all the experiences of life – love, joy, relationships, art, sensual experiences – are viewed as a trick to entrap the personality essence in an never ending cycle of reincarnated birth, life and death. They view the Dream as a trap and not as what It is – experience. They assign to the Gods the powers of control over Maya while reserving for themselves only the desire to quite literally “end it all”.

We see similar nonsense in the Judeo-Christian-Islamic view. The world is seen as imperfect due to flaws in human nature which can only be overcome by obedience to the will of God, the supreme dreamer of creation. Life on earth is denigrated due to its shortness as a test of moral character followed by an eternity of pain or pleasure via hell or heaven.

You are born into the Dream as an element of the Dream. Your potentials and genetic predispositions are all Dream elements. Your experiences in life, “subjective” and “objective”, are all Dream experiences. The whole of your personality, your memories, habit patterns, preferences, attitudes, beliefs, etc., are all Dream elements of a Dream universe. If you die, your death is a Dream death and the elements which made you up as a separate entity remain no more and no less “real” than any other elements in the Dream.

After death if you have experiences these are still Dream experiences. Any postdeath environments are Dream environments and are not more or less “real” than these pre-death experiences.

But then there is the Dreamer, the Dragon.

Not a Dream element but the Source of all Dream elements, the Dragon is the innermost Self, the Consciousness which looks out from behind your eyes, my eyes and all eyes.

When your mind is aligned to act as a proper vehicle for the recognition of what this means in terms of experience, then the Dragon Awakes in the Dream through your mind and body.

This balance between the Worlds is called the Twilight.

Thus the Dayside, which are the comfortable beliefs and expectations of the mind, are assaulted by the Nightside, the exceptions to those beliefs and expectations, in an effort to awaken the mind to the Awareness of the Dragon and thus to Awaken the Dragon.

In normal dreams during normal sleep, the personality treats the dream universe as objective and real. This results from the anomalies which appear being ignored by the dreaming mind. In this Dream the human personality tends to also treat the Dream Universe as objective and real. This, too, results from the mind choosing to ignore and “explain away” the anomalies called the “paranormal”.

In dreams during normal sleep if the mind begins to notice the anomalies and begins to question the objectivity of the dream, the mind can awaken within the dream, which is then called a “lucid” dream. There is an entire spectrum of such awakening or “lucidity” and its duration also can vary in intensity and duration.

In this Dream the mind can also choose to notice the anomalies, the “paranormal”, and begin to question the objectivity of this Dream. The mind can thus awaken within this Dream. In other words it is possible to become lucid right now. At this instant. As you read these words.

And, again, there is an entire spectrum of such lucidity which can change in intensity and duration.

In lucid dreams during normal sleeping you tend to gain increased control over the elements of your dream. You can induce as well as notice the anomalies of the dream universe. The same is true of this Dream. As you Awaken in this Dream you tend to gain more direct Control over the elements of this Dream Universe.

This is called magic. Humans may call it “miracles” or the “paranormal”, but most commonly they try to ignore it and continue sleeping in this Dream.

The purpose of the Temple is to cause the member to Awaken in the Dream

To be Awake is everything.

So it is written. So it has been told. So it is.

While there are many dramatic improvements in store for physical existence such as reversal of aging, smart immune systems, enhanced sensory capabilities, superhuman strength and speed, electrical nervous systems, etc., these still pale in comparison to the improvements in our states of consciousness.

Most people on this small planet still continue to live lives "of quiet desperation". Most people on Earth assume that they must struggle to merely survive but remain, at best, doomed to age and die. Most people alive continue to live in emotional straight-jackets of anxiety, depression, anger, rage, jealousy, and fear.

We live in a mortal culture dominated by self-defeating philosophies and religions that do not promote human happiness. The iron fist of social control instills guilt and fear to control the individual as a slave to "the greater good".

We reject all of that.

"Enlightenment" is a word that has been hijacked by mystics who advocate death and the destruction of the individual self as virtues. What the Temple Teachings point to in contrast are a series of increasingly practical and purposeful stages of true enlightenment.

To see the light you must open your eyes.

Everything we do in this Temple is dedicated to increasing this experience of eyeopenings to the reality that actually is, as opposed to the delusions held to be "real" by the milling masses of humanity.

We begin with the fundamental fact that there is no "humanity". There are no "groups". There is no "society".

There are only individuals.

We therefore place the individual in the correct context.

The individual is more important than any group and this is true because there are no groups. There are only individuals.

That is the first awakening to true enlightenment.

"God" for the Temple is not a supernatural entity with a white beard sitting on a throne in the clouds. "God" is recognized as ultimately nothing more and nothing less than the most important person in your life. The Temple states that that person is YOU.

This does not deny that there are others so important to you that you would be willing to die to protect them. But this is a simple recognition that you remain the most important person in the universe because you are at its center and if you did not exist then you would not care for others since you would not be there to do so.

The universe exists to serve you. You are the center of it all. Without you there is nothing. Realizing the truth of these words is another level of Temple enlightenment.

At each stage of our continuing enlightenment we become more aware of what is the nature of reality and we leverage these facts instead of fighting against them.

The river of life can take you to where you truly wish to be going and at the same time it is equally true that life is the journey and not the future destination.

Yet we do not merely "go with the flow" of this river of life. We steer our passage and look ahead to where we are going. We set goals and determine how to achieve them. Yet we do not live only for these destinations as we enjoy the journey that we are on toward those goals.

In this moment, this very second, you have all that you need to enjoy what is in your experience. If this moment has pain, you have tools to reduce and remove that pain. If this moment has pleasure, you have tools to allow you to truly enjoy that pleasure.

As we increasingly become enlightened to the nature of what is real we also increase our capacity for joy and happiness while reducing the incidence of sorrow and misery, which remains the lot of the masses at this time.

We have all of us been brought up in a mortal culture filled with incorrect perspectives on almost every important issue in life. We are surrounded by bad advice, stupidity, and self-defeating ignorance.

Everything we find in this Temple allows us to see through the lies, delusions, and self- deceptions that improperly guide the rest of the world.

With each new stage of enlightenment we then have the opportunity to act on it to own it as our own.

Insight is not enough.

To remain awake one must act upon what one has achieved.

The stages of enlightenment from the Dayside all the way through the Nightside and into the Twilight are like the dreams we remember upon awakening. If we do not act upon them such as by writing them down then we fall asleep again and forget what we learned.

Life is a process. You must continue to breathe, to eat, to sleep, and to awaken. It is never a finalized accomplishment.

Life is dynamic and ever flowing.

Life is a choice we continue to make into eternity.

Life is wonderful!

You who are reading this now are elite.

What does it mean to be elite?

I rather like the treatment of "elite" in Wikipedia:

"Elite (occasionally spelled Élite) is taken originally from the Latin, eligere, "to elect". In sociology as in general usage, the elite is a relatively small dominant group within a large society, which enjoys a privileged status envied by individuals of lower social status.

The position of an elite at the top of the social strata almost invariably puts it in a position of leadership and often subjects the holders of elite status to pressure to maintain their position as part of the elite. However, in spite of the pressures, the existence of the elite social stratum is usually unchanged."

So what makes you, as a Temple member or Temple follower, elite?

Several things all of which you had to pass through to be reading these words.

First, you cannot be elite if your thinking is completely concerned with "fitting in" with the viewpoints of the majority.

Most people are terrified to not be accepted by their peers in the common culture. They do not want to be identified as "odd" or a "misfit".

When you ask people "If you could physically live forever in a young and healthy body, would you want to?" you will learn that the vast, vast majority will tell you "NO!"

However the reasons they will give simply do not make sense. And the reason they do not make sense is because the real reason, the reason they might not even consciously recognize as the real reason is ALWAYS the same.

That reason is that if they chose to live forever in a youthful body then this would not be acceptable to the majority of other people!

To be blunt, whether he realizes it or not, the average person will choose death before choosing possible peer rejection every time.

Today another 147,000 deaths will prove once again that what I have just written is absolutely correct.

Today, as yesterday, another 147,000 human beings will die and be buried or cremated rather than take a chance of being restored to life in the future BECAUSE "what would other people think if I did?"

I am not exaggerating about this at all.

So simply having The Vampire Bible which speaks directly of our traditional (Nightside) means to defeat death, simply reading what is written on the public Temple website and ending up being able to read these words places you in an elite of a few thousand who are willing to say to death "NO!"

The humans who continue to embrace mortality as good betray their secret (and often to their minds somewhat sinful) desire to be physically immortal.

They betray it most obviously today in their love of the Hollywood vampire image.

The full Nightside (esoteric) history of the Vampire can be pieced together from a careful examination of the oldest religious records from Sumer and Egypt, when Gods ruled men openly, and those who died would Rise again to take Lifeforce from the living priesthood and the masses who sacrificed in the Temples.

However, after the physical withdrawal from the eyes of men, the image of the vampire became one of the tottering corpse that would drink physical blood. A very disgusting image that horrified and degraded the image.

Since at least the early 1900s, the popular image of the vampire has been evolving from the Dark Ages' walking corpse into a romantic figure who possesses once again

many god-like qualities such as strength, speed, invulnerability, youthful appearance, but, most of all, immortality.

It is this fundamental trait that trumps all others in the return of the defining of the Vampire back toward the nature of the original Gods.

Thus the mortal human being continues to be drawn to the seduction of the Vampire, because what he secretly wishes for is to defeat death, to live on and on, mastering life and enjoying the pleasures of life.

However, the deathist religions of the world today condemn this wish. Only "God" can choose who will live or die. Only God can decide who is worthy of any joys in life.

And so the human crawls on his knees before the God Who would deny him survival or pleasure, and hopes (though it is sinful to do so) that he will be spared.

The literalist versions of Christianity that won out over the gnostic and Hermetic versions did so because they offered eternal life on the cheap. Let Jesus take the fall for your unworthiness by acknowledging his human sacrifice and then you will live forever . . . in heaven.

The problem remained that while this beat dying and going to Hell for eternity, it really does not satisfy the deeper desire to live forever HERE AND NOW in THIS world.

I think it was Woody Allen who, when asked if he didn't want to live on after death, said he would prefer to live on in his apartment!

And this is the hidden, deeper sin that infects the average person.

Deep down inside they do want to skip dying. They DO want to live forever, healthy and happy right here, thank you.

However, to fail to conform to the agreed-upon general morality of their peers is too frightening for them to be able to actually think about.

They would rather die.

And they do die.

But you are here.

You are considering these ideas.

You are daring to think about them.

And you may already be taking actions to do something about them.

This makes you elite.

You might notice how each one of the Six Earthly Secrets define you as elite for studying and then applying them.

You are willing to consider how to ethically manipulate people to get what you want.

You are willing to learn how to manipulate yourself to enable you to enjoy life more and break free of senseless constraints on that enjoyment.

You are willing to study proven simple methods to protect yourself from dying in dangerous situations.

You are willing to challenge the accepted beliefs about health and strive to apply cutting edge research to protecting it.

You are open to learning how to control money and make it work for you instead of you just working and slaving away for it.

You desire more from life than "just getting by".

You acknowledge that your desires are good and that you see nothing wrong in seeking to attain them.

You are even willing to push aside the taboos that would attempt to prevent you from exploring and proving to yourself that you can possess god-like powers yourself.

You are willing to consider that there may be a true Ruling Elite working from "behind the scenes" of this human drama and dare to aspire to become One of Them.

Any of these things makes you truly elite.

Why?

Because you are Vampire.

I bow before You!

And they, the poor lost souls, do bow before Us.

If not before death then upon death.

You are Elite.

The average human embraces the idea that death is "natural", "inevitable", and even "good". They substitute authentic efforts to seek immortality and usually subscribe to the idea that seeking personal immortality for one's self is "evil".

Yet the truly defining characteristic of the Vampire, both Dayside and Nightside, is that the Vampire consciously and intentionally seeks physical immortality. We do so both through Dayside efforts to achieve this by means of science as well as our traditional Nightside approach that relies upon taking Lifeforce.

We are surrounded by this deathist culture and recognize that if we do not actively continue to define how we are different from them on this critical issue of personal immortality then we will fall "prey" to deathism even as they already have!

In a very real sense the average human being is a "victim" of deathism, the belief that death is "good" and immortality is "bad".

If for no other reason, we therefore choose to refer to them as "victims" and "prey" as an active and conscious reminder of this vital difference between what we seek and what they seek.

Again, these word descriptions do not carry any condemnation of the value of any individual, victim or Vampire.

They are carefully chosen to describe the situation as it is and to remind each of us of how our “religion” and philosophy is so very different from theirs.

As has been stated so eloquently on our homepage to the Temple website:

"The Vampire is the next step in human evolution. If you are ready, the Temple is here to empower you. We believe the value of the individual is superior to that of any group or tribe or nation or species."

To maintain this perspective while surrounded by billions who take the opposite, suicidal view of life requires on going effort.

We use words like "victim" and "prey" to help us remember that:

"I am a Vampire. Bow down before me."

They are "victims" of their acceptance of death and are the "prey" of their own inadequate attempts to deny that death has each of them firmly in its jaws.

Remembering this is why we use these words.

We are Vampires, not victims or prey.

Are you conscious now?

Perhaps you think this a silly question, but have you ever thought really deeply about what it means? It seems obvious that I'm conscious now, but then the more I look the less obvious it becomes.

I've been asking myself this question for many years. Here is some of what happened. I'd love your comments on how you get on if you are

willing to try it too. Just try and ask yourself - as many times a day as you can - am I conscious now? Of course I am. Yes, I am conscious now. ~ ------------ ~ But something odd happened. When I asked myself the question it was as though I became conscious at that moment. Was I not conscious before? It felt as though I was waking up - coming to consciousness as I asked the question - because I asked the question.

What is going on? I can remember what was happening just before I asked the question, so it seems that someone must have been conscious. Was someone else conscious a moment before - as though the waking up is a change in who is conscious? It certainly didn't feel as though it could have been me because I just woke up, but surely it wasn't anyone else, for who else could there be in here? Another possibility is that I wasn't really conscious before I asked the question. This is deeply troubling. For I've never asked this question before. Surely I cannot have been unconscious, or semi-conscious, all my life can I? Perhaps there are lots of things that make me conscious apart from asking this particular question. Even so, this is rather scary. It certainly seems as though I must spend a lot of my time unconscious, otherwise I could not have this definite sensation of coming awake when I ask "Am I conscious now?". Let me ask it again. Can I reproduce the awakening and look into it to see what it is really like? Am I conscious now? I practice it a lot, for weeks and months. I keep doing it. I keep asking "Am I conscious now?" To begin with the hardest part is remembering to ask. But I want to know. Little things remind me of the question - a look, a sound, a sudden emotion - any of them can propel me into asking. And then it happens again and again; it feels as though I am

waking up. Yes, of course I am conscious now. Yes of course I am, but it seems as though I wasn't a moment ago. ~ ------------ ~ I know now, from all the many students who have trodden this path with me, that the hardest part is remembering to ask the question. So we've tried various strategies. Some put stickers all over their house: "Are you conscious?" on the front door; "Am I conscious now?" on the toaster; "Are you sure you're conscious now?" on their pillow. Others get into pairs so that they can keep reminding each othe, or take to special times and places, asking the question every time they go to the loo, or in bed, or when they have a drink or food. Sometimes these tricks work; sometimes they don't. I wonder why it's so hard. It almost seems as though there is something conspiring to prevent us asking the question; something that makes it hard to face up to .... to what? To being fully aware, I suppose. Although it seems impossible to answer "No", it is hard work

"Yes" "Yes, I am conscious now", perhaps to answer

because it reminds me that most of the time I cannot have been. But it's worth it. I persevere. ~ ------------ ~

Am I conscious now?

Yes.

Ah, here's a new question: Can I stay this way? And a funny thing happens. I answer yes. I am fully conscious now, I have woken up to this present moment. Right. This is easy. Here I am. But before I know it I am far away in distraction, thinking about something else, being angry with someone, being miles away in the past or the future or something completely invented and troubling and annoying. I ask again. I sigh. Lost again. Yes, I am conscious now, but where was I? It troubles me that I seem so often to be unconscious. I cannot believe I spend most of my life in a kind of darkness. Surely that cannot be so. Yet every time I ask this question it feels as though I am waking up, or that a light is switching on. All the more troubling is that this light is so rare. By asking the question and switching it on, I seem to have stumbled on the fact that my normal state of life is some horrible kind of gloom. Was this why I was so troubled; so ill at ease? Was this why I so often felt that nothing was real; that nothing was clear, as though something I couldn't place obscured the view and made my head swim? I want to explore this darkness; this normal state if that is what it is. But that is impossible isn't it? How can I look into the darkness, when looking makes it light.

WITHIN LIES FACT AND FANCY, TRUTH AND METAPHOR. DISCRIMINATE WITH CARE. These are the first words of The Vampire Bible.

The last words of the final Teaching of the Temple in The Vampire Adept Bible read,

Without

“ lies fact and fancy, truth and metaphor. Discriminate with care.”

These words were not idly chosen to bracket the formal published Teachings of the world’s only authentic Vampire “Religion,” HEKAL TIAMAT. They were chosen to emphasize a number of critical principles that the Vampire needs to inculcate into the deepest recesses of his character.

Here lies bedrock. Here lies multiple, embedded meanings.

At the first level, these words act as a legal and public disclaimer. It is warning the reader to not just believe everything as written. It is clearly stating that not all they will read is true and factual. At least some of what is written is fanciful and metaphorical.

In the dictionary, “metaphor” is defined as “a figure of speech in which a word or phrase literally denoting one kind of object or idea is used in place of another to suggest a likeness or analogy between them - figurative language.”

In other words, metaphor is instructive but not literally true. Metaphor is intended to convey a meaning but is not the meaning itself.

Fancy is defined as “a mental image or representation” and “(archaic) fantastic quality or state”. In other words fancy (as opposed to fact) is nonphysical in nature, and is a creation of the mind. (This subject is expanded in depth in the discussion of the dimension of Agreement in The Vampire Adept Bible).

However, the key point is that fancy, like metaphor, is not grounded in ordinary fact but operates on a different level.

That stated, there arise questions to be answered.

How to determine what is fact and what is fancy?

How to distinguish between what is truth and what is metaphor?

How does one “discriminate with care”?

“Discriminate” is defined as “to mark or perceive the distinguishing or peculiar features of”, “to distinguish by discerning or exposing differences”, and “to use good judgment”.

In other words, to “discriminate with care” means that the reader is expected to make judgments based on discovering differences between what is written and what is true.

The reader is both warned and expected to test the Teachings he reads and then discover what is fact and what is fancy.

The reader is told he must actively seek to discover for himself by personal effort what is truth and what is metaphor.

In other words, the Temple is an intelligence test.

And the final words of The Vampire Adept Bible warn us that life itself is an intelligence test.

The Vampire Creed

I AM A VAMPIRE

The Vampire Creed makes clear the basic beliefs of our religion. "I am a Vampire" is stated twice, once at the very beginning and again just prior to the last line, to emphasize the importance of this statement of identity. You need to understand that you are a Vampire with a capital "V". Vampirism is a religion (as well as a Nightside metaphysical discipline and a practical philosophy). Just as the members of any religion are designated so by the convention of capitalizing their name, as in Buddhist, Moslem, Christian, Jew, etc., the Vampire is a member of the Vampire religion.

This is also why we are members of the Temple of the Vampire. The Vampire designates a class of members of a religion. It would be just as appropriate for us to refer to our religion as the Vampire Temple in this same sense. You state "I am a Vampire" as a choice, as an act of will. The balance of the Vampire Creed defines and elaborates upon the meaning of that statement; but above all, being a Vampire is a choice. First you choose to be what you feel you already are. You are a Vampire, a member of the Vampire religion. And what is it that our religion holds to be true about being a Vampire? We hold that the Vampire worships his ego and his life as the only true God. We hold that the Vampire trusts reason above belief, distinguishes between truth and fantasy, respects survival as the highest of laws, identifies magic as applied natural law, rejects death as a virtue and is dedicated to the enjoyment of life in the present. The Vampire holds these views, as expressed in this creed as the foundation of the Vampire religion. And notice what is absent from the Vampire Creed. There is no statement regarding anything outside what the Vampire values and rejects regarding life as it is lived. The Vampire Creed does not include anything supernatural whatsoever. The Vampire Creed defines the limits of the Vampire belief system.

I Honor My Animal Instincts

The perfect guide to moral conduct for the Vampire comes directly from the physical body. What feels good is good. What feels bad is bad. Yet if this perfect guidance is only blindly obeyed instead of honored, then the lusts of the body can cause ruin to your life, restrict your ability to feel pleasure by finding yourself imprisoned or even end your earthly pleasures by being killed. The Vampire Creed advises us to honor our animal instincts. This means to be aware of what the body says to us about our physical likes and dislikes, as well as the myriad emotional responses that we can feel moment to moment, day to day and year after year.

You cannot honor what you ignore or reject. To honor your animal instincts you must first be aware of them! You must open your awareness to the present moment, that door to immortal eternity that the "lower" animals enjoy in a state of perfect enlightenment. Look at the common house cat. Unless in severe pain, the cat will always enjoy this eternal moment, proud of its existence. Never questioning its needs, desires, likes or dislikes, a cat will never consider evaluating itself. The cat glories in its existence and lives with supreme self esteem.

It so values itself that it will never assign a value to itself. The cat has risen entirely above the need for self esteem through perfect self acceptance beyond the need for self esteem. The Vampire is advised to recover the purity of this animal instinct beyond the need for self appraisal, beyond all concepts of good and evil, those twin lies borne of a split view of a single perfect universe. Honor your animal instincts. In doing so you reveal your perfection as above all others. You take the place of command and authority that is yours as Vampire, Master of the Earth.

THE White Circle

THE WHITE RITE The Rite of the Mirror and the Oracle : A Vampyre’s Rite of Transformation This initiation is required for membership tothe Sanguinarium.net by Father Sebastiaan, edits by Silver Black (thank you) and Victor Magnus

Within the White Rite there are two components: the Rite of the Mirror and the Oracle.

Here is a little background on the inspiration for this ritual of Vampyre Transformation and what it is analogous to. I discovered a commonality of my customers reactions when they first saw themselves in the mirror with their fangs. For many the ceremony of getting fangs made by Sabretooth is lifechanging experience, that continues to have a profound effect on them many years later.

The Inspiration

Soon after the first Endless Night Vampire Ball in New Orleans in 1998, when I arrived back in NYC, Tony Timpone (then editor of Fangoria Magazine) invite me and my staff of the Sabretooth Emporium to go to the Warner Brothers screening room to watch an early cut of the film the Matrix. This was five months before its theatrical release. When I saw the Matrix, the film was not yet fully complete. Many of the special effects unfinished, and a different eerie soundtrack. As we watched the film that night, I saw the faces of my staff shift from skepticism to excitement and wonder. Their Vampyre Eyes began to open wider.

As we stood in the lobby, following the screening. We were trance-like state, trying to proces all that we had experienced, but we weren’t alone in feeling that way. There was another person standing nearby who seemed equally affected: the actor Laurence Fishburne, who of course played Morpheus in the film. A giant afro and beard had disguised him during the screening, but now I could recognize him the bright lights of the lobby. Standing there as moved by what we had just seen.

In the months leading up to the release of The Matrix in March of 1999, the promotional advertising campaign for the movie asked, “What is the Matrix?” Only a few who were fans of the Cyberpunk genre understood what a Matrix was, but even they were not prepared for the full impact of the feature film. No one could understand what the Matrix was until they actually saw the movie, and asking the question was truly a great way to make people think about it and question what it could mean. Those who read into the film deeply ended up ponder some of our basic perceptions concerning the nature of reality. I believe this to be a major subtle shift in the history of human collective consciousness. In my opinion for the vast majority of humanity, nothing would ever be the same. And it was no exception for me as well. For months after the film was released many felt they got to see reality from a different perspective and experience a shift in awareness.

How does this relate to the experience getting your first pair of fangs? Really simply put it is another subtle personal shift of consciousness. What happened to the five of us over the next few months, leading up to the public release of the film, was truly a shift of consciousness, not unlike what Louis de Pointe du Lac (Interview with the Vampire) experienced during his first night as a vampire. Most significantly the wonders the Matrix presented reminded of when each of us, of the experience of getting our first set of fangs, and how changed and alive we’d felt the first few weeks afterwards. While it seemed the rest of the world was still experiencing things in a traditional way, the rite of transformation we had undergone as Vampyres had caused us to see and feel things differently. We felt a sense of “awakening” stirring in our spirits.

When the movie opened, and ‘Matrix Mania’ descended upon the masses, the question “What is the Matrix?” was finally answered. It was on the lips of moviegoers everywhere, and we felt as though the process of “getting fanged” could finally be appreciated. One more step towards the Singularity had come to pass.

On October 15th, 1999 another groundbreaking, and perception shifting film would shape the Sanguinarium even further, revealing what it is like to see the world amongst other Sabretooth Vampyres: Fight Club. This is how I discovered the shift in consciousness that making fangs creates, using film references to help understand.

The Rite of the Mirror Since that fateful day in November 1993, when I got my first pair of fangs, I have seen the world differently. The most memorable part of my first Rite of Transformation was not having my fangs made, not holding my lip up, but looking into the mirror for the first time, and seeing myself in a completely different way. Fourteen months later, I sat my mother down on Christmas Day and put her through the same experience — but I got to see it from the Fangsmith’s perspective. Since then, I have fanged people from around the world and witnessed their first look into the mirror; their reactions as they feel their lives change, and a small shift of perception occurs.

This is why the first element of the White Rite is the Rite of the Mirror. You can see this very personal, and often life-changing ceremony done a hundred times on my YouTube Channel. Everyone has a different reaction. Some cry, some laugh, some stare in silence for what seems like hours. It is a moment as profound and memorable as getting your first tattoo, but still very different.

The Rite was also borne out of practicality. As a professional, I had to keep people and their curiosity from inspecting their fangs and critiquing them before they were finished, as seeing them before the end ruined the mystery and slowed down my fangmaking process. With the Rite of the Mirror I can stop my clients from looking at their fangs until I’m satisfied that they’re ready to be seen.

The Oracle During the Rite of the Mirror, I found myself observing, asking questions, and compiling a collection of clients’ ideas, desires, interests, responses and perspectives into a journal; the same journal where Sanguinomicon and all my other books come from. A few years ago, I took one hundred words from vampire mythology and cut them down into one-page descriptions, based on these testimonials, and my book the Red Veils was born. Combined with notes from Sanguinomicon (a manifesto of sorts), I was describing a philosophy which I call

Vampyrism, in a new way. Spelling it with a ‘y’ instead of an ‘i’, to differentiate between the mythological vampire and the philosophy.

If my clients seem especially interested in the Vampyre Philosophy, I provide them with a copy of the Red Veils to perform the Rite of the Oracle. The secret to the Rite is to look through the Table of Contents of Red Veils before looking at any other part of the book. Once this is done, the fledgling chooses one Veil which appeals to him and reads it. The result is an experience similar to reading your own tarot cards and most often will be an amazing, synchronistic, experience that adds another dimension to the White Rite of Transformation, and brings the client closer to his or her own Vampyric Awakening.

My other book, Sanguinomicon, is a long, deep, esoteric manuscript on Vampyre Philosophy– which is not appropriate for the mainstream world. The Red Veils is a much more suitable experience for my fang clients, used to introduce them to the experience of wearing fangs.

Vampyres?

I know what you’re thinking. Vampyrism as a philosophy? What? Aren’t vampires evil, blood drinking, satanic, bunny-sacrificing demons? Relax. Following the White Rite, Vampyres will not automatically live forever, fly, generate a thirst for human blood, or transform into a bat. Those are obviously misconceptions and metaphors. They will, however, be introduced to a new way of life; a new perspective, philosophy, lifestyle, and transformation as deep as they choose to take it. But one must have caution, because those who define themselves exclusively by Vampyrism miss the point. Vampyrism should compliment the individual — not wholly define them.

And Vampyres are not easily defined. On the contrary, I enjoy a diverse client base of individualists from around the world. They have taught me that Vampyres are like cats: you can’t herd them or group them; they are uniquely one tribe, each individual dancing to the beat of his own drum, then forming a collective chorus when they come into agreement.

Unlike their mythical and subculture counterparts, the point of Vampyrism is to LIVE (which is evil spelled backwards) and enjoy a hunger for life. This means engaging in every aspect of life and drinking in all of the wonders the world has to offer; from a beautiful walk in a park in Paris, to the satisfaction of learning a new skill; from climbing mountains, to the pleasures of finding love or experiencing the birth of a child. This is the true philosophy of a Vampyre, not the depressed, energy deficient, cursed, miserable life which the media makes it out to be.

The Awakening?

Often I hear the phrase, “Getting fangs does not make you a Vampyre”, and this is true. However, the ceremony of the White Rite, and its components, often trigger a fuller awakening that leads to embracing the Vampyre Philosophy, and through it, a fuller, more enjoyable lifestyle. I have witnessed this many times with my clients, and many of them will testify that the White Rite has changed their lives, their self perception, and has led them to look at the world in a whole new way.

The Red Rite of Transformation

CALMAE : THE RED RITE VAMPYRE SOROR / FRATER Disciple of the Vampyre Mysteries An exert from Vampyre Rituals of the Sanguinarium Ritual design by Magisters Ur & Saaron Calmae have fully identified with Vampyrism as philosophy and a personal life path and are true disciples of the Vampyre Mysteries. Formally known as Calmae within the Sanguinarium, they traditionally addressed by the honorific of Sorer orFrater, meaning “Sister” or “Brother” of the Current and bare a red stone in their Legacy Ankh. They are no longer Fledglings and not yet Adepts or Elders. Calmae have a strong understanding of Vampyre philosophy, culture, and tradition and have been in White Circle no less than a year and a day.

Through becoming Calmae, a Vampyre challenges themself to establish a strong Dayside foundation having “Coming forth by Day." They work to continually improve their Zhep’r by developing personal survival skills, earning financial independence, and dedicating themself to the Quest of Family and the Quest of Immortality. Calmae focus to get touch with their primal nature whilst maintaining a strong grasp of difference between reality and fantasy. Calmae may choose to "Come forth by Nigh" and pursue the Nightside Vampyre Mysteries such as ambient and tactile feeding, de-identification with the mortalist perspective and embracing the Vampyre's immortalist perspective, Communion with the Current, energy manipulations, and understanding the concept of Zhep’r. Within the Sanguinarium, Calmae are members of the Red Circle and may participate in private Family gatherings and projects. Calmae examples of Vampyre Virtues and Mysteries, exceptional individuals welcomed for their dedication, loyalty, and Potential within the Family of the Sanguinarium. The Red Rite Unlike the White Rite which involves a fangmaking session, Rite of the Mirror and the Oracle with RED VEILS. The Red Rite takes place within a formal ritual chamber. As a member of Silver, Emerald or Black Circle should be officiating, the set-up of the space should go as with any other Vampyre Ritual. Aspirant is to be clad appropriately for ritual. Goals: 1. Dedicant establish a formal connection with the Current. 2. Dedicant commits to Vampyrism as a formal philosophy and path in their life. 3. Dedicant gains a sense of formal inclusion to the Family Setting Intention: When space is ready, invite aspirant into room. Confirm they have read, understand and are in agreement the contents of Sanguinomicon and The Red Veils.

Then ask:

Why they wish to be recognized as Red Circle of the Sanguinarium. Do they find agreement with the Black Veils What do they feel they can bring to the Family Personal goals as related to Vampyrism. Discuss the nature of the Current and its importance to the Family. This establishes a focus in the mind of the aspirant for the next step. Connecting with Current: Connection with current is similar to the Rite of the Mirror when a person receives fangs. This can be accomplished with a walk through of Throning and the Vampyre's Eyes exercises. Have the aspirant come before the mirror Guide them through a few relaxing breaths and to turn their focus inward When they are ready, guide them to stare deeply into the mirror, looking behind their own eyes. Remind them to clear their mind. Find the silence between the thought and let the darkness of that space fill your mind and being. Reach out into the mirror with your essence and connect. When they have felt a connection with the current, have them nod and ask them to take “The Red Pill” or “The Blue Pill”... and if they accept the Red Pill they shall recite the Strigoi Vii Vampyre Charge.

I AM VAMPYRE. I am the Ruler of My Dream and seek never to die. When in My Dayside, I am rational and materialistic. Yet, by My own Will, I can enter the world mystic And move to My Nightside, beyond the Veil.

I realize all things are possible and by My Will I prevail. Within the equilibrium I find My Twilight. I move closer to Zhep'r with every Flight. I understand the difference between knowledge and belief. Death is My only true enemy – it shall never conquer Me. I am Immortal, and Life I embrace. I lead, explore, and feed to My taste. Commitment: Explain that the next steps in their growth involve study furthering their Dayside and pursuing a deeper connection to the Current through understanding Life-Force and communion. The aspirant must commit to completion of reading The Sanguinomicon and Red Veils. As officiant, make yourself available to the discussion of reading materials. This provides motivation for their success in completion of the study, and furthers your own understanding and Zhep’r. Fill a horn with wine, mead, bloodbath, etc. Consecrate it as best you know how and offer it to the aspirant: “Take this horn, and in your own words, declare the studies and practices you are about to undertake and complete within one year’s

time. Remember, this is a sacred oath that you make to yourself and to all those of the Current. Do not speak lightly. “ Inclusion: When they have had their drink of the horn, drink yourself and pour any remainder into a bowl before the mirror. This will be the closest we get to communion in this rite. Inclusion to family comes from the officiate formally declaring person is of the Current along with their Sobriquet. “You are now to be known as Soror / Frater and recognized a member of the Sanguinarium Red Circle, a Calmae of the Family. You are now formally accepted into our sacred Family, to further the timeless and eternal quest of Zhep’r.” At this point, some object may be presented to aspirant as confirmation of the completion of this Rite and a member of Red Circle. Now they have all the duties and privilages of Red Circle including pursuing the Purple Rite, wearing a Red Stone in their Ankh and entering Red Courts. If person already has a Legacy Ankh, this is appropriate time to consecrate said ankh. Closing: “In one year and a day we will revisit your commitment to this path, At that time, you can dedicate to be recognized into the Purple Circle. For now, it is expected that you keep the commitments you made this day, and to hold true to the Black Veil.” You may now close the rite as you feel best.

Emotional Tone Scale

Tone Scale is intended to classify people in a range or scale according to how spiritually alive and how dead a person is, both personally and in their relationships to others. Hubbard expanded on the idea and created 80 increments which he numbered from -40 (total failure) to +40 (serenity of beingness). Hubbard's full scale appears above. According to Hubbard a person chronically focused on death and destruction is at the low end of the tone scale, while a person focused on creativity is at the high end of the scale. A noteworthy mechanism of the scale involves a person as they approach and react to pain. As a person approaches pain, they allegedly become more antagonistic and less cheerful. It is purported that after receiving pain, they will be angry about it, and then, if the pain persists, can become more overwhelmed by it, progressing down through fear, grief, apathy, into failure, etc. Auditing allegedly reverses this path. One aims to be at the higher levels of the tone. While a person can rationally be any place on the tone scale due to circumstances, Hubbard argue that one should not, under normal circumstances, be stuck any particular place on the scale. Also, one can be at various places on the tone scale in different areas of life, such as being chronically 'high on' oneself and chronically 'down on' people or one's partner. Such discrepancy is allegedly an indication of a problem. The ultimate goal is to be "a free being". a free being can be and does not have to be any place on the scale. A free being does not have to avoid certain areas of the scale, although one could as a matter of choice or taste. Allegedly, the lower a person is on the scale, the more complex and solid their problems are and the more effort it takes to make even a little positive and real long-term gain for that person. Thus, spotting a person as low on the scale allows one to make a decision regarding how careful or involved one should become in dealing with that person.

ARC

Life has three component parts: affinity, reality and communication. These  form a triangle—A­R­C. They are interdependent to such a degree that if you  interrupt any one of them, you will interrupt the flow of the other two. Let us examine the component parts of this triangle. The first corner is affinity. One could call it, sloppily, love, but that is hardly  descriptive enough. Affinity is the sympathetic coexistence of two things or  two parts of the same energy. When we take a tuning fork in the physical universe and strike it and it starts  vibrating at its particular frequency, another tuning fork with the same  frequency will begin to vibrate too, though it has not been touched. If you damp the first one out, you find the other tuning fork is ringing. They are in the same  level, so therefore you could say they have a sympathetic vibration. Two men talking with each other either are in affinity with each other or they  aren’t. If they are not, they will argue. If they are in affinity with each other,  two other things have to be there: They have to have agreed upon a reality and  they have to be able to communicate that reality to each other.

This brings us to the next corner: reality. When you speak of reality, physical­ universe reality, it is a very interesting thing. There is really no such thing as  the physical universe; there is a motion. But we sense something; we see  something with our eyes, we hear something with our ears, we smell something

with our nose, we touch something with our hands, and we decide, then, that  there is something. But the only way we know it is through our senses and  those senses are artificial channels. We are not in direct contact with the  physical universe. We are in contact through our sense channels with it. Those sense channels can be blunted. For instance, a man loses his eyesight,  and as far as he is concerned there is no light or shape or color or depth  perception to the physical universe. It still has a reality to him, but it is not the  same reality as another person’s. In other words, he is unable to conceive a  physical universe completely without sight. One can’t conceive these things  without senses. So the physical universe is seen through these senses. You and I can take a look at a table and agree it is a table. It is made out of  wood, it is brown. We agree to that. Of course, you understand that when I say  “brown” and you hear “brown,” brown actually to you may be purple but you  have agreed that it is brown because all your life people have been pointing to  this color vibration and saying “brown.” It might really be red to me, but I  recognize it as brown. So we are in agreement although we might be seeing  something different. But we agree this is brown, this is wood, this is a table.  Now a fellow walks in the door, comes up and takes a look at this thing and  says, “Huh! An elephant!” You say, “It’s a table, see? Elephants are . . .” “No, it’s an elephant.” So we say he is crazy. He doesn’t agree with us. Do we attempt further to  communicate with him? No. He doesn’t agree with us. He has not agreed upon  this reality. Are we in affinity with him? No. We say, “This guy is crazy.” We  don’t like him. We don’t want to be around him. Now let’s say you and I are arguing, and you say, “That table is made out of  wood,” and I say, “No, it is not. It’s made out of metal which is painted to look  like wood.” We start arguing about this; we are trying to reach a point of  agreement and we can’t reach this point of agreement. Another fellow comes  up and takes a look at the table and says, “As a matter of fact, the legs are  painted to look like wood, but the top is wood and it is brown and it is a table.”  You and I then reach an agreement. We feel an affinity. All of a sudden we feel friendly and we feel friendly toward him. He solved the problem. We have  reached an agreement and we go into communication.

The most important corner of the ARC triangle is communication. How do  people go into communication with each other? In order for there to be communication, there must be agreement and affinity.  In order for there to be affinity, there must be agreement on reality and  communication. In order for there to be reality and agreement, there must be  affinity and communication—one, two, three. If you knock affinity out,  communication and reality go. If you knock reality out, communication and  affinity will go. If you knock communication out, they will all go. There are several ways to block a communication line. One is to cut it, another  one is to make it so painful that the person receiving it will cut it, and another  one is to put so much on it that it jams. Those are three very important things to know about a communication line. Also, that communication must  be good communication: the necessary data sent in the necessary direction and  received. All that communication will be about, by the way, is reality and affinity  concerning the physical universe. Discussions will be whether there is or is not  affinity, or whether there is or is not agreement and where the agreement is  particularly disagreed with on the physical universe. Affinity can be built up in a number of ways. You can talk to people and build  up an affinity with them. But remember this is communication, not just talk.  There are many, many ways to communicate. Two people can sit and look at  each other and be in communication. One of the ways to go into  communication is by tactile. You can pet a cat, and the cat all of a sudden starts to purr; you are in communication with the cat. You can reach out and shake a  person’s hand and you are in communication with him because tactile has taken place. The old­school boys with the tooth­and­claw idea that “everybody hates  everybody really, and everybody is on the defensive and that is why we have to force everybody into being social animals” said that the reason men shake  hands is to show there is no weapon in the hand. No, it is a communication. In  France, Italy, Spain and so forth they throw their arms around each other; there  is lots of contact and that contact is communication. If a person is badly out of communication and you reach out and pat him on the shoulder and he dodges slightly (he considers all things painful) even though he doesn’t go on, you will find he is also out of communication vocally. You try to say something to him. “You know, I think that’s a pretty good project, Project 

342A, and I think we ought to go along with it.” He will sit there and look at  you and nod, and then he will go down and complete Project 36. You say, “Project 36 has just been thrown out. We weren’t going to go through  with that at all,” but he hardly knows you are talking to him. He dodges  everything you say. Or he may talk to you so hard and so long you don’t get a  chance to tell him you want to do Project 342A. That is dodging you, too. In  other words, he is out of communication with you. Therefore his affinity is low  and he won’t agree with you either. But if you can get him into agreement,  communication will pick up and affinity will pick up. This is about the most important data ever run across in the field of  interpersonal relations. You can take any group of men working on a project and take one look at the  foreman and the men and tell whether or not these people are in communication with one another. If they aren’t, they are not working as a coordinated team.  They are not in communication, perhaps, because they are not agreed on what  they are doing. All you have to do is take the group, put them together and say, “What are you  guys doing?” You don’t ask the foreman, you ask the whole group and the  foreman, “What are you guys doing?” One fellow says, “I’m earning forty dollars a week. That’s what I’m doing.”  Another one says, “Well, I’m glad to get out of the house every day. The old  woman’s pretty pestiferous.” Another one says, “As a matter of fact, I  occasionally get to drive the truck over there and I like to drive the truck, and  I’ll put up with the rest of this stuff. I drive the truck, and I’ve got to work  anyhow.” Another man might say, if he were being honest, “I’m staying on this job because I hate this dog that you’ve got here as a foreman. If I can devote  my life to making him miserable, boy, that makes me happy. I really lead him a dog’s life, too.” All the time you thought that those men thought they were grading a road. Not  one of them thought they were grading a road. You thought they were building  a road. Not one of them was building a road; not one of them was even grading. This crew may be unhappy and inefficient, but you get them together and you  say, “Well, you know, someday a lot of cars will go over this road. Maybe 

they’ll wreck themselves occasionally and so forth, but a lot of cars will go  over this road. You boys are building a road. It’s a pretty hard job, but  somebody’s got to do it. A lot of people will thank you boys for having built  this road. I know you don’t care anything about that, but that’s really what we  are doing around here. Now, I’d like a few suggestions from you people about  how we could build this road a little bit better.” All of a sudden the whole crew  is building a road. Affinity, reality and communication go right up. The reason this works is that every point on the ARC triangle is dependent on  the other two, and every two are dependent on one. One can’t cut down one  without cutting down the other two, and one can’t rehabilitate one without  rehabilitating the other two. On the positive side, one can rehabilitate any point  on the triangle by rehabilitating any other point on it.

The Maiiah or Great Illusion Within Vampyrism, the word Maiiah refers to the illusion that humanity is boxed into, akin very much in analogy to those imprisoned into

the Matrix. Those who are “sleepers” cannot see beyond the dayside experience of the five senses, and the “awakened” are aware of this illusion. In the Hindu tradition of Advaita Vedanta philosophy, the term maya refers to the everyday “mundane” limited, purely physical and mental reality which the majority of human experiences is entangled. Beyond the physical or “solid” world are the multiple subtle layers of reality called realms or planes in various esoteric systems. These correspond and directly inhabit the same space as the physical world yet are entirely on a different frequency of energy, akin to another dimension. The Dayside deals exclusively with mastering the Maiiah from within it, whilst like many traditions which seek to “Pierce the Veil” the Nightside deals with the layers beyond the confines of the Maiiah. The Living Vampire and other Awakened beings see beyond the Maiiah and seek a more diverse personal and spiritual worldview. Those of the Current have the potential to

One of the dangers of Vampyrism is that basic awareness is simply not the ultimate goal. A trained Vampyre can remain a simple specter, which is a traditional ghost. They would be only partially aware and have only instinctual feeding, trapped. True Immortality requires much more. One must learn to develop the Self to such a point of willpower, skills in energy work and developed Zhep’r the identity of the Vampyre continues. Otherwise the Vampyre will face the Second Death and oblivion of the Self. Human funeral rites are designed to release the spirit and send hurtling towards the Second Death, ours is the polar opposite. Thus through the Rising Rite, we Vampyres support our recently departed Sorors and Fraters through projecting energy through communion directly to the rising Vampyre whilst they are in between the First and Second Death. This initiation rite aids the disembodied Vampyre by reminding them of who they are. The Norse would tell stories of the departed while passing a horn of mead. This was called the Arvel. The accumulated energy boosted the sound made as the dead crossed the Gjalarbru (resounding bridge); the greater the sound, the more profound a person’s life. So, they drank deep and cheered loudly in honor of their fallen kin. The Timing of a Rising Rite is essential. It should be done by as many members of the Family as possible, preferably in group communion, as soon after the Vampyre’s first death to offset the Second Death. Often the First Death is a challenging experience for a newly Rising Vampyre since they are, for the first time, without a strong corporeal body to return too and supply them with basic levels of life-force. If they were prepared, this ritual will aid them in their Rising and should be done within the first few days after the first death to set them on their way. The Rising Rite should also be accompanied or followed by a “Revelry” celebration in the Vampyre's honor as one would celebrate the life of the departed akin to an Irish funeral and the Norse Arvel. Food and drink should be prepared and telling of stories and celebration of the individual’s life should be performed; fulfilling good and charged vibe as any other event in Sanguinarium tradition. Mortals are welcome to join in the celebration if they are open minded or Black Swans to release as much energy as possible. The Rising Rite and Revelry should be held separately from any mundane funeral ceremonies as to allow the mortal family their own freedoms and traditions. Additional purposes of the Rising Rite include the ability to remind those living Vampyres of their mortality and the purpose of Zhep’r. The Prelude should include “Articles of Remembering”: as much information about the individual as possible is gathered, including details of their life, interests, special dates, pictures, personal artifacts, favorite foods and drinks, and anything familiar to the Rising Vampyre.

The Ritual should take place flowing the Prelude, this is when the actual Rising Rite should be performed, preferably by a member of the Priesthood, Magister or an Adept. However it can be performed by any initiates of the Current or as a solitary if one is not able to attend a Quorum. Therefor individuals and groups from around the world can join in on the ritual if coordinated properly. A standard ceremonial communion is the best template and instead of focusing the offered energy towards the Current it should be sent towards the individual who has passed. The Invokation should state the Purpose of the Rite and call forth both the Sobriquet and birth name of the passed and they are called through the Current. During the Offering, in addition to offered life-force, all articles of Rising should be presented to help the deceased. The Current should be invoked and charged as they will come through this and it will often appear after the Invokation as wind or through other signs. Speak to the Rising Vampyre as if they are present in the room to create a sense of normality, this will aid them in their Rising and feel less distant. The Closing should be done in standard tradition of a Ceremonial Communion and their name should be spoken Nine Times to represent the different Paths through the Labyrinth of Kaladra (a Black Court secret). Followed by a closing statement by a presiding member or the Priesthood “Hail (insert sobriquet of the Rising Vampyre), this Ritual is to aid you in your journey frater / soror and to know you are and always will be Family of the Sanguinarium. Hail Elorath!” Clap hands three times or ring the bell, then say “So it is done.” Afterwards, it is off to to a place of celebration such as their home, a favorite bar or place familiar to them, invite them to join and continue with a Revelry celebration of the persons mortal life and their Rising.

Tactile / Touch Feeding

Tactile / Touch Feeding Tactile Feeding Tactile feeding is a Vampyric technique which involves feeding by touch. It can involve any form of direct physical contact such as brushing against someone in a crowd, shaking hands, kissing, giving or receiving a massage, or having sex. Tactile feeding requires the auras of the subtle bodies of the Vampyre and donor to overlap. Physical contact guarantees contact in the subtle reality. This results in immediate subtle links between the Vampyre and the donor. The more prolonged and interactive the contact, the more links and the more energy on which the Vampyre can feed. Upon contact with the donor, the Vampyre must focus their intent on using their subtle “tendrils” to pierce the donor’s aura. These tendrils are like subtle fangs that manifest upon tactile feeding to connect to the donor’s aura. The Vampyre can subsequently draw upon the life-force of the donor. The Vampyre may wish to visualize energetic tendrils connecting them to their donor. As the Vampyre feeds, they may visualize each tube filling with life, which they then draw into themself like sucking

liquid through a straw. The Vampyre can inhale deeply and rhythmically, using breath to direct the energy or even clench their abdominal or sphincter muscles to help draw the energy into their subtle body. When performing tactile Vampyrism, many fledgling Vampyres find it empowering mentally state their specific intentions

“I am feeding” to break free of human conditioning. This will solidify their intent and engage their Will. Once the tactile feeding is concluded, the Vampyre is wise to extract their tendrils and break all links to the donor in order to prevent an unwanted reversal of energies. Many Vampyres choose to visualize the tendrils fading away or slowly disengaging and dissolving.

Sealing Energy

Sealing Energy Sealing Sealing is a technique used to stop absorbed life-force from leaking out of the Vampyre’s subtle body. Many Vampyres know how to absorb energy but do not really know how to “digest” and store it properly. Vampyres may lose or leak absorbed lifeforce for many reasons, such as stress, anger, or ill-health. Meditation, grounding, and centering are powerful tools to reduce energy leakage. A calm and centered mind does not waste energy on destructive thought patterns. When the mind is functioning in a healthy and productive manner, the subtle body follows suit. Since the physical body is connected to the subtle body, maintaining the health of the physical body will help ensure the health of the subtle body. Energy practices such as chakra work or Reiki may also help maintain the health of the subtle body. Sealing is important for the “digestion” of energies. The Vampyre’s subtle body needs

to process the absorbed life-force, just as their Corporeal body needs to process physical food. For example, on Thanksgiving many residents of the United States eat large meals and become sleepy because of the energy needed to digest all that food. After eating, one must digest, and after feeding, the Vampyre must seal. Sealing slows energy leakage and creates a contained energy pool. After a Vampyre has sealed absorbed energy, they can more efficiently focus that energy. Meditating quietly after feeding is a simple way to seal energy. When the physical body is calm and centered, the subtle body can more efficiently process the absorbed life-force.

Victor Magnus is obviously the Mradu Azra. I am the Ramkht Azra and the position of Kitra Azra is now vacant with the Rising of Maelle. This October during the Grande Quorum in New Orleans, and with the blessing and agreement of the Synod I will be taking over as a TEMPORARY position as the Kitra Azra until a Magister is initiated into this position. I have selected Priestess Rosiland as my Second. Magister Ur who will ascend to the position of Ramkht Azra. Throughout the last decade the focus of media on the vampire community has come down to two types in the “real vampire community” or RVC which are sanguinarian (blood drinkers) and psychic vampires (psivamps) and those in between known by the term hybrids.

Then there is another type often very discrete called living vampires who consider “Vampyrism” a philosophy and spiritual / esoteric path.

Presented here are just a very broad definition of the types of vampires, there are many more beyond this perspective, so keep an open mind to new possibilities and variations on these concepts..

From an old school perspective “real vampires” generally spell vampire with an “i” and Living Vampires have traditionally distinguished themselves with spelling vampyre with a “y’. Psychics and Sangs base their concept of vampirism solely on need of energy (blood, emotion or life-force) and not usually as a philosophy, culture or spirituality.

Here is a short rundown from the perspective of the Sanguinarium and Sabretooth Clan… - Sanguinarian vampires are individuals who believe they have need to consume human blood to maintain their mental, physical and spiritual health.

- Psychic vampires come in two categories traditional and ethical.

“Traditional psychic vampires” who are are described as energy parasites in traditional occult lore. These are encountered in everyday life and generally not apart of the RVC, many not identifying with the vampire or realizing what they are.

“Ethical psychic vampires” who believe they have an energy deficiency such as a damaged chakra system or their bodies are not able to generate life-force and must feed off energy to maintain their mental, spiritual and physical health.

Living Vampires (Vampyres) are individuals who consider “Vampyrism” a philosophy (Dayside) and for some a spiritual / esoteric path (Nightside) which defined by the empowering virtues of the vampire mythos. Living Vampires do not need to drink blood and do not have an energy deficiency, yet have a defined culture, philosophy and set of traditions. Their need for life-force is a complex nightside secret and is done ethically. Example virtues of Vampyrism include Immortality, Mystery, The Dragon, Primal Nature, Transhumanism, Romance, Life, Love & Loyalty, Apotheosis and Family.

Are Vampyres vulnerable to bullets and weapons? Yes. Vampyres are normal human beings. they can die and be harmed by weapons just like everyone else. Do Vampyres need to drink blood to survive? No. Vampyres do NOT need to drink blood to survive. The very few that do anything related to blood consider it merely a fetish and only do it within monogamous relationships and never speak about it publicly as such actions are taboo and often illegal. Must Vampyres sleep in coffins during the day? No. Many Vampyres though think of this cliché as quite humorous and some do it for fun or as a joke. Some might use it as a technique of sensory deprivation for meditation. Many vampire fans have heard of the term “Coming out of the Coffin” from the television show True Blood. This term came directly from Sanguinarium traditions and culture. The writers at True Blood did their research on many different mythologies. The term was coined in 1997 at Long Black Veil Vampyre Club in NYC, when an individual who got custom made fangs wondered how to tell his parents he was practicing Vampyre philosophy. A friend said to him “just wait until the right time to come out of the coffin.” Can Vampyres enter upon “holy ground?” Yes. Vampyres often have a fascination religious symbolism, history, theology and architecture. You will often see Vampyres in the courtyard in the Paris Mosque or exploring Cathedrals such as Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City.

Can Vampyres can hypnotize with a simple gaze? Maybe. Vampyres are often fascinated with the study of subjects like body language, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) techniques, human psychology, hypnotism and techniques common to magicians and illusionists to create a sense of suspension of disbelief to give them an edge in life. We call this the

Do all Vampyres have sharp, elongated fangs? Not naturally (well in most cases). Vampyres often see getting prosthetic fangs as an expression of their personal glamour and as a symbol and homage of their connection to the vampire mythos. They are available from professional fangsmiths who make custom removable fangs for the Vampyre community. They strictly a cosmetic piece and most take them off when working at their jobs or for holidays with family.

Do all Vampyres wear black? No. Vampires dress in a any color that suits their fancy. Many do however prefer to dress in Black and consider it a color of power, mystery, and authority, that is why many police, judges and lawyers wear black as their primary color.

Do Vampyres wear long capes, top hats and dresses? Sometimes. Many Vampyres call this courtly attire, and this type of formal dress is often reserved for when one attends a Vampire Ball or Halloween party. Most choose to dress in fashionable contemporary clothing.

Are Vampyres all are rich, corporate executives, wealthy bachelors or aristocrats? No. Vampyres may come from all walks of life and economic means. Some Vampyres are often very enterprising and industrious, and see materialism as a part of creating a comfortable living. Others work at jobs and live a conservative fiscal life focusing on establishing a sense of security financially for themselves. Many Vampyres love business and success thus becoming entrepreneurs as a way to live in an individualistic, self reliant and independent manner. many live a conservative fiscal life focusing on establishing a sense of security financially for themselves.. On a recent television show about healthy living on Russian national television, a doctor of medical science and psychiatry, Mark Sandomirsky, advised his patients to relieve stress using this easy technique.

The source of stress often varies and people almost always experience it in different ways. Once the stress sets in, most people however, are left feeling uncomfortable and anxious, followed by a sensation of heaviness or even pain in parts of the body.

The first step to releasing stress is to rid yourself of the the negative emotions. Don’t bottle them up within yourself. After doing so, next is to remove the physical effects of the stress. This is where the psychoreflexology comes into play. Our body has certain anti-stress points and all that needs to be done is simply massage these points to relieve the stress.

The ancient Chinese referred to this point as Shen Men or “The Gate of Heaven.” Shen Men is a anti-stress point that decreases stress, boosts energy flow, and strengthens the overall health of the body.

This acupressure point also reduces inflammation and can relieve pain in almost every part of the body. Massaging the Shen Men point will relieve stress and is located in the centre of the upper third of the ear.

DISCOVERIES, HEALING, NEWS, SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY CAN WE RESET THE AGE-CLOCK ON OUR DNA? SCIENTISTS SAY YES!

An article was published recently via The Guardian & the NY Times describing a new discovery with our DNA, essentially alluding  to our age being connected to a function of DNA – measuring the biological age of our tissues and organs.

This “clock” in our DNA shows that while many tissues age at the same rate as the body, some of them age much faster or slower. In  addition to that, the age of diseased organs varied hugely, all the way up to tens of years “older” than healthy tissue in the same  person, according to the clock.

Now, the researchers say that unravelling the mechanisms behind the clock will help them understand the ageing process in humans,  and ultimately lead to some form of slowing things down.

‘”Ultimately, it would be very exciting to develop therapy interventions to reset the clock and hopefully keep us young,”  Horvath told      The Guardian. He studied the methylation of nearly 8,000 samples of healthy and cancerous tissue and found 353 DNA  markers that varied with aging. They effectively work like little biological clocks. Interestingly, different types of tissue age at different rates. Whereas the biological age of heart tissue appears around nine years younger than it should, cancerous tissue appears to be an average of 36 years older.’

To take a step beyond that, what if we could get rid of age altogether? What if humans could choose which age they wanted to be, and  then could live like that as long as they wanted? (of course, we’d need some place for people to go… but we’ll save that for another  article).

This discovery really beckons us to ask questions about Time. What is Time? Is it a function of DNA? Is it a mental perception of  ours? Is it something that is only limited to this physical dimension? What is it, really?

In addition to us being able to sequence and manipulate DNA through our external technology, this also begs the question if we can do it with our internal technology. If what we’re learning about DNA activation is true, then perhaps in the future we will simply be able  to stay young all the time by being young, and doing nothing more than allowing the awareness of youth to permeate every fiber of  our beings. We could reset the biological clocks naturally, and stay young forever!

Can We Prevent Aging? People are living longer. In 1970, the average life expectancy at birth in the United States was 70.8 years; in 2008, it was 78.0 years; and by 2020, the U.S. Census Bureau projects life expectancy will reach 79.5 years.

Views on aging are also changing. Disease and disability were once considered an inevitable part of growing older, but that is no longer true. While aging does put us at greater risk for health issues, many older adults can be healthy and active well into their advancing years.

The National Institute on Aging (NIA), part of the Federal Government’s National Institutes of Health (NIH), investigates ways to support healthy aging and prevent or delay the onset of age-related disease and decline. We have already gained important insights, and what we learn from ongoing and future studies may not only help to increase longevity, but may also promote what is known as “active life expectancy”—the time in late life free of disability. We already know, for example, that healthy eating and exercise and physical activity help promote healthy aging. Are there other interventions that can help? NIA-supported and other studies are taking a look at the possible benefits and risks of a number of approaches, including antioxidants, calorie restriction, and hormone supplements. This tip sheet provides an overview of what we know about these interventions and the research needed to learn more. Until we have a better understanding, it is a good idea to be skeptical of claims that any supplements can solve your age-related problems.

Antioxidants

Antioxidants protect the body from the harmful effects of by-products known as free radicals, made normally when the body changes oxygen and food into energy. The discovery of antioxidants raised hopes that people could slow aging simply by adding them to the diet. So far, studies of antioxidant-laden foods and supplements in humans have yielded little support for this conclusion. Further research, including large-scale epidemiological studies, might clarify whether dietary antioxidants can help people live longer, healthier lives. For now, although the effectiveness of dietary antioxidant supplementation remains controversial, there is positive evidence for the health benefits of fruits and vegetables.

Calorie Restriction, Intermittent Fasting, Resveratrol, and Rapamycin

Scientists are discovering that what you eat, how frequently, and how much may have an effect on quality and years of life. Of particular interest has been calorie restriction, a diet that is lower by a specific percent of calories than the normal diet but includes all needed nutrients. Research in some animals has shown calorie restriction of up to 40 percent fewer calories than normal to have an impressive positive effect on disease, markers of aging, and, perhaps, life span.

Even though calorie restriction appears to work in a variety of species, its effects on longevity are far from universal. It has been found to extend the life of protozoa (very small, one-celled organisms), yeast, fruit flies, some strains of mice, and rats, as well as other species. However, several animal models, including wild mice, show no lifespan extension by calorie restriction. In some strains of mice, calorie restriction even appears to shorten lifespan. Studies in nonhuman primates have also had conflicting results.

Calorie restriction studies with humans and other primates, such as monkeys, are ongoing. Some studies in nonhuman primates have shown that calorie restriction reduces the incidence of certain diseases such as cancer. Other studies in primates have not yet reached final conclusions.

Findings of the Comprehensive Assessment of Long-term Effects of Reducing Intake of Energy (CALERIE) pilot study in humans showed that overweight adults who cut their calorie consumption by 20 to 30 percent lowered their fasting insulin levels and core body temperature. Both of these changes correlate with increased longevity in animal models. The lower calorie intake also reduced their risk for major causes of mortality such as heart disease and diabetes. CALERIE is currently evaluating a 2-year, 25 percent reduction in caloric intake for feasibility, safety, and effects on factors influencing longevity and health.

Scientists do not yet know if long-term calorie restriction is safe, beneficial, or practical for humans. However, the study of calorie restriction offers new insights into the aging process and biological mechanisms that could influence healthy aging. This research may also provide clues about how to prevent or delay diseases that become more prevalent with age and inform the development of treatments for such diseases.

Some studies focus on identifying chemicals that somehow mimic calorie restriction’s benefits. Resveratrol, a compound found naturally in foods like grapes and nuts, is of interest. In one study, scientists compared two groups of overweight mice on a high-fat diet. One group was given a high dose of resveratrol together with the high-fat diet. The overweight mice receiving resveratrol were healthier and lived longer than the overweight mice that did not get resveratrol. In a follow-up study, researchers found that, when started at middle age, resveratrol slowed age-related deterioration and functional decline of mice on a standard diet, but did not increase longevity. A recent study in humans reported that resveratrol may have some similar health benefits to those in animals; however, it is still too early to make any definitive conclusions about how resveratrol affects human health and aging. More research is needed before scientists know if there is a proper and safe dose of resveratrol or if it has any clinical applicability in people.

Rapamycin is also being investigated. This compound is used to help suppress the immune system in transplant patients so that the body does not reject the new organ. Rapamycin has been found to extend median and maximum lifespan of mice, even when fed to the animals beginning at early-old age. This finding suggests that an intervention started later in life may still increase longevity. Researchers are now looking for rapamycin’s effects on health span of animal models. Since rapamycin treatment in people is associated with serious toxicities, its potential for human long-term use is uncertain. Researchers do not know if rapamycin has any effect on human aging or if any potential benefit would outweigh risks. But, this discovery in mice has led to an exciting new research direction.

Scientists are also looking at the effect of intermittent fasting or reduced meal frequency. In animals, like mice, reduced meal frequency appears to have a protective effect on the brain and may also help with heart function and regulation of sugar content in the blood. However, here, too, the influence of intermittent fasting on human health and longevity is currently unclear.

While research into these types of approaches continues, it is important to remember there is already plenty of research supporting the value of a healthy, balanced diet and physical activity to help delay or prevent age-related health problems.

Hormones

Hormones are chemical messengers that set in motion different processes to keep our bodies working properly. For example, they are involved in regulating our metabolism, immune function, sexual reproduction, and growth. Hormones are made by specialized groups of cells within the body’s glands. The glands—such as the pituitary, thyroid, adrenals, ovaries, and testes—release hormones into the body as needed to stimulate, regulate, and control the function of other tissues and organs involved in biological processes. Most hormones are typically found in very low concentrations in the bloodstream. But a hormone’s concentration will fluctuate depending on the body’s activity or time of day.

We cannot survive without hormones. As children, hormones help us grow up. In our teenage years, they drive puberty. As we get older, some hormone levels naturally decline. But what does that mean? Scientists do not know exactly.

In order to learn more, NIA is investigating how the administration of hormones to older people affects frailty and function. Many of these studies focus on hormones that naturally decline with age, including:

How Hormones Work A hormone acts upon a cell much like a key unlocking a door. After being released by a gland, a hormone molecule travels through the blood until it finds a cell with the right fit. The hormone latches onto a cell via the cell’s receptor. When this happens a signal is sent into the cell. These signals may instruct the cell to multiply, make proteins or enzymes, or perform other vital tasks. Some hormones can even cause a cell to release other hormones.

A hormone may fit with many types of cells but may not affect all cells in the same way. For example, one hormone may stimulate one cell to perform a task, but it might also turn off a different cell. Additionally, how a cell responds to a hormone may change throughout life.

Hormone Therapy Levels of some hormones change naturally over the lifespan. Some hormones increase with age, like parathyroid hormone that helps regulate the amount of calcium in the blood and bone. Some tend to decrease over time, such as testosterone in men and estrogen in women. When the body fails to make enough of a hormone because of a disease or disorder, a doctor may prescribe hormone supplements. These come in many forms such as pills, shots, topicals (gels, creams, and sprays applied to the skin), and medicated skin patches.

You may have read magazine articles or seen television programs suggesting that treatment with hormones can make people feel young again or can slow or prevent aging. That’s because finding a “fountain of youth” is a captivating story. The truth is that, to date, no research has shown that hormone therapies add years to life or prevent age-related frailty. And, while some drugs have real health benefits for people with clinical hormone deficiencies due to a disease or disorder, they also can cause harmful side effects. That’s why people who have a diagnosed hormone deficiency should still only take hormones prescribed by a doctor and under a doctor’s supervision.

In some cases, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) may have approved a hormone (or hormone therapy) for one purpose, but it is prescribed by physicians for another. This off-label use may occur when

physicians believe that research, such as clinical studies, demonstrates a drug’s usefulness for another condition. However, consumers should be aware that off-label use of any drug may not have been tested and verified to the same degree as the original use of the drug.

Some Dangers of Hormone Therapy and “Anti-Aging” Supplements Higher concentrations of hormones in your body are not necessarily better. And, a decrease in hormone concentration with age is not necessarily a bad thing. The body maintains a delicate balance between how much hormone it produces and how much it needs to function properly. Natural hormone production fluctuates throughout the day. That means that the amount of hormone in your blood when you wake up may be different 2, 12, or 20 hours later.

If you take hormone supplements, especially without medical supervision, you can adversely affect this tightly controlled, regulated system. Replacement or supplemental hormones cannot replicate your body’s natural variation. Because hormonal balance is so intricate, too much of a hormone in your system may actually cause the opposite of the intended effect. For example, taking a hormone supplement can cause your own hormone regulation to stop working. Or, your body may process the supplements differently than the naturally produced hormone, causing an alternate, undesired effect. It is also possible that a supplement could amplify negative side effects of the hormone naturally produced by the body. At this point, scientists do not know all the consequences.

Some hormone-like products are sold over the counter without a prescription. Using them can be dangerous. Products that are marketed as dietary supplements are not approved or regulated by the FDA. That is, companies making dietary supplements do not need to provide any proof that their products are safe and effective before selling them. There is no guarantee that the “recommended” dosage is safe, that the same amount of active ingredients is in every bottle, or that the substance is what the company claims. What you bought over the counter may not have been thoroughly studied, and potential negative side effects may not be understood or defined. In addition, these over-the-counter products may interfere with your other medications. NIA does not recommend taking any supplement touted as an “anti-aging” remedy because there is no proof of effectiveness and the health risks of short- and long-term use are largely unknown.

Human Growth Hormone

Growth hormone is important for normal growth and development, as well as for maintaining tissues and

organs. It is made by the pituitary gland, a pea-sized structure located at the base of the brain.

Research supports supplemental use of human growth hormone (hGH) injections in certain circumstances. For instance, hGH injections can help children who do not produce enough growth hormone. Sometimes hGH injections may be prescribed for young adults whose obesity is the result of having had their pituitary gland surgically removed. These uses are different from taking hGH as an “anti-aging” strategy. As with other hormones, growth hormone levels often decline with age, but this decrease is not necessarily bad. At least one epidemiological study suggests that people who have high levels of naturally produced growth hormone are more apt to die at younger ages than those with lower levels of the hormone. Researchers have also studied animals with genetic disorders that suppress growth hormone production and secretion. They found that reduced growth hormone secretion actually promotes longevity in the tested species.

Although there is no conclusive evidence that hGH can prevent aging or halt age-related physical decline, some clinics market hGH for that purpose, and some people spend a great deal of money on such supplements. Shots can cost more than $15,000 a year. These shots are only available by prescription and should be administered by a doctor. But, because of the unknown risks—and the evidence suggests that side effects strongly overcome any possible benefits—it is hard to find a doctor who will prescribe hGH shots. Over-the-counter dietary supplements, known as human growth hormone releasers, are currently being marketed as low-cost alternatives to hGH shots. But claims of their anti-aging effects, like all those regarding hGH, are unsubstantiated.

Research is starting to paint a fuller picture of the effects of hGH, but there is still much to learn. For instance, study findings indicate that injections of hGH can increase muscle mass; however, it seems to have little impact on muscle strength or function. Questions about potential side effects, such as diabetes, joint pain, and fluid buildup leading to high blood pressure or heart failure, remain unanswered, too. A report that children who were treated with pituitary growth hormone have an increased risk of cancer created a heightened concern about the dangers of hGH injections. Whether or not older people treated with hGH for extended periods have an increased risk of cancer is unknown. To date, only small, shortterm studies have looked specifically at hGH as an “anti-aging” therapy for older people. Additional research is necessary to assess the potential risks and benefits of hGH.

Testosterone

Testosterone is a vital sex hormone that plays an important role in puberty. In men, testosterone not only

regulates sex drive (libido), it also helps regulate bone mass, fat distribution, muscle mass and strength, and the production of red blood cells and sperm. Testosterone isn’t exclusively a male hormone—women produce small amounts as well.

As men age, they often produce somewhat less testosterone, especially compared to years of peak testosterone production during adolescence and early adulthood. Normal testosterone production ranges widely, and it is unclear what amount of decline or how low a level of testosterone will cause adverse effects.

In recent years, the popular press has increasingly reported about “male menopause,” a condition supposedly caused by diminishing testosterone levels in aging men. There is very little scientific evidence that this condition, also known as andropause or viropause, exists. The likelihood that an aging man will experience a major shutdown of testosterone production similar to a woman’s menopause is very remote. In fact, many of the changes that take place in older men often are incorrectly attributed to decreasing testosterone levels. For instance, some men experiencing erectile difficulty (impotence) may be tempted to blame it on lowered testosterone, but many cases of erectile problems are due to circulatory problems.

For men whose bodies make very little or no testosterone, testosterone replacement may offer benefits. FDA-approved testosterone drugs come in different forms, including patches, injections, and topical gels. Men whose testes (the reproductive glands that make testosterone and sperm) have been damaged or whose pituitary glands have been harmed or destroyed by trauma, infections, or tumors may also be prescribed testosterone. Treatment with testosterone drugs can help men with exceptionally low testosterone levels maintain strong muscles and bones and increase their sex drive. It is unclear if men who are at the lower end of the normal range for testosterone production would benefit from treatment.

More research is needed to learn what effects testosterone drug therapy may have in healthy older men without these extreme deficiencies. NIA is investigating the role of testosterone therapy in delaying or preventing frailty and helping with other age-related health issues. Results from preliminary studies involving small groups of men are inconclusive. Specifically, it remains unclear to what degree testosterone supplements can help men maintain strong muscles and sturdy bones, sustain robust sexual activity, or sharpen memory.

There are also concerns about the long-term, harmful effects that testosterone drugs might have on the aging body. Most epidemiological studies suggest that higher natural levels of testosterone are not associated with a higher incidence of prostate cancer—the second leading cause of cancer death among

men. However, scientists do not know if taking testosterone drugs increases men’s risk for developing prostate cancer or promoting the growth of an existing tumor. There is also uncertainty about effects of testosterone treatment on the cardiovascular system in older men, especially men with mobility limitations and other diseases. Future studies will address this issue to ensure that older men receiving testosterone treatment are not exposed to unnecessary risks.

The bottom line: there is no scientific proof that testosterone treatment in healthy men will help them age better. Until more scientifically rigorous studies are conducted, it is not known if the possible benefits of testosterone therapy outweigh any of its potential risks. NIA continues to conduct research to gather more evidence about the effects of testosterone treatment in aging men.

Hormones in Women

Estrogen and progesterone are two hormones that play an important part in women’s menstrual cycle and pregnancy. Estrogen also helps maintain bone strength and may reduce the risk of heart disease and memory problems before menopause. Both estrogen and progesterone are produced naturally by the ovaries. However, after menopause, the ovaries make much less of these hormones. For more than 60 years, millions of women have used estrogen to relieve their menopausal symptoms, especially hot flashes and vaginal dryness. Some women may also be prescribed estrogen to prevent or treat osteoporosis—loss of bone strength—that often happens after menopause. The use of estrogen (by a woman whose uterus has been removed) or estrogen with progesterone or a progestin, a synthetic form of progesterone (by a woman with a uterus), to treat the symptoms of menopause is called menopausal hormone therapy (MHT), formerly known as hormone replacement therapy (HRT).

There is a rich research base investigating estrogen. Many large, reliable long-term studies of estrogen and its effects on the body have been conducted. Yet, much remains unknown. In fact, the history of estrogen research demonstrates why it is important to examine both the benefits and risks of any hormone therapy before it becomes widely used. Here’s what scientists know:

Endometrial problems—While estrogen helps some women with symptom management during and after menopause, it can raise the risk of certain problems. Estrogen may cause a thickening of the lining of the uterus (endometrium) and increase the risk of endometrial cancer. To lessen these risks, doctors now prescribe progesterone or a progestin, in combination with estrogen, to women with a uterus to protect the lining.

Heart disease—The role of estrogen in heart disease is complex. Early studies suggested MHT could lower postmenopausal women’s risk for heart disease—the number one killer of women in the United States. But results from the NIH Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) suggest that using estrogen with or without a progestin after menopause does not protect women from heart disease and may even increase their risk.

In 2002, WHI scientists reported that using estrogen plus progestin actually elevates some postmenopausal women’s chance of developing heart disease, stroke, blood clots, and breast cancer, but women also experienced fewer hip fractures and cases of colorectal cancer. In 2004, WHI scientists published another report, this time on postmenopausal women who used estrogen alone, which had some similar findings: women had an increased risk of stroke and blood clots, but fewer hip fractures. Then, in 2007, a closer analysis of the WHI results indicated that younger women, ages 50 to 59 at the start of the trial, who used estrogen alone, had significantly less calcified plaque in their coronary arteries than women not using estrogen. Increased plaque in coronary arteries is a risk factor for heart attacks. Scientists also noted that the risk of heart attack increased in women who started MHT more than 10 years after menopause (especially if these women had menopausal symptoms). There was no evidence of increased risk of heart attack in women who began MHT within 10 years of going through menopause.

Dementia—Some observational studies have suggested that estrogen may protect against Alzheimer’s disease. However, testing in clinical trials in older, postmenopausal women has challenged that view. In 2003, researchers leading the WHI Memory Study (WHIMS), a substudy of the WHI, reported that women age 65 and older who took one kind of estrogen combined with progestin were at twice the risk for developing dementia compared to women who did not take any hormones. In 2004, WHIMS scientists reported that using the same kind of estrogen alone also increased the risk of developing dementia in women age 65 and older compared to women not taking any hormones. What possibly accounts for the different findings between the observational and clinical studies? One central issue may be timing. The women in the WHIMS trial started treatment a decade or more after menopause. In observational studies that reported estrogen’s positive effects on cognition, the majority of women began treatment soon after menopause. This has led researchers to wonder if it may be advantageous to begin treatment earlier, at a time closer to menopause. Additionally, it appears that progesterone and progestins (progesterone-like compounds) differ in their impact on brain health.

Despite research thus far, there are still many unknowns about the risks and benefits of MHT. For instance,

because women in their early 50’s were only a small part of the WHI, scientists do not yet know if certain risks are applicable to younger women who use estrogen to relieve their symptoms during the menopausal transition.

You may also have heard about another approach to hormone therapy for women—“bioidentical hormones.” These are hormones derived from plants, such as soy or yams, that have identical chemical structures to hormones produced by the human body. The term “bioidentical hormones” is now also being applied to the use of compounded hormones. Large clinical trials of these compounded hormones have not been done, and many bioidentical hormones that are available without a prescription are not regulated or approved for safety and efficacy by the FDA. FDA-regulated bioidentical hormones, such as estradiol and progesterone, are available by prescription for women considering MHT.

For middle-age and older women, the decision to take hormones is far more complex and difficult than ever before. Questions about MHT remain. Would using a different estrogen and/or progestin or different dose change the risks? Would the results be different if the hormones were given as a patch or cream, rather than a pill? Would taking progestin less often be as effective and safe? Does starting MHT around the time of menopause, compared to years later, change the risks? Can we predict which women will benefit or be harmed by using MHT? As these and other questions are addressed by research, women should continue to review the pros and cons of MHT with their doctors. They should assess the benefits as well as personal risks to make an informed decision about whether or not this therapy is right for them. DHEA

Dehydroepiandrosterone, or DHEA, is made from cholesterol by the adrenal glands, which sit on top of each kidney. It is converted by the body into two other important hormones: testosterone and estrogen.

For most people, DHEA production peaks in the mid-20’s and then gradually declines with age. The effects of this decline, including its role in the aging process, are unclear. Even so, some proponents claim that over-the-counter DHEA supplements can improve energy and strength and boost immunity. Claims are also made that supplements increase muscle and decrease fat. To date, there is no conclusive scientific evidence that DHEA supplements have any of these benefits.

The conversion of naturally produced DHEA into estrogen and testosterone is highly individualized. There is no way to predict who will make more or less of these hormones. Having an excess of testosterone or estrogen in your body could be risky.

Scientists do not yet know the effects of long-term (defined as over 1 year) use of DHEA supplements. Early indications are that these supplements, even when taken briefly, may have detrimental effects on the body, including liver damage. But the picture is not clear. Two short-term studies showed that taking DHEA supplements has no harmful effects on blood, prostate, or liver function. However, these studies were too small to lead to broader conclusions about the safety or efficacy of DHEA supplementation.

Researchers are working to find more definite answers about DHEA’s effects on aging, muscles, and the immune system. In the meantime, if you are thinking about taking DHEA supplements, be aware that the effects are not fully known and might turn out to cause more harm than good.

Many Questions, Seeking Answers

NIA supports research that seeks to learn more about aging and the risks and benefits of potential interventions such as antioxidants, calorie restriction, hormone therapies, and supplements. These studies take time. A great deal of basic animal and clinical research remains to be done. And, because research is an incremental process, results can move knowledge forward, but it can also take scientists back to basics. Although one goal of NIA research is to determine whether these interventions improve the health of older people, have no effect, or are harmful, don’t be surprised if the results of these studies open the door to more questions.

Until more is known about antioxidants, resveratrol, and hormone supplements, consumers should view these types of supplements with a good deal of caution and doubt. Despite what advertisements on television, the internet, and magazines may claim, there are no specific therapies proven to prevent aging. Some harmful side effects already have been discovered; additional research may uncover others. People with genuine deficiencies in specific hormones should consult their doctors about appropriate treatments. Talk with your doctor if you are interested in any form of hormone therapy or “anti-aging” approaches beyond a healthy diet and physical activity. Meanwhile, people who choose to take any hormone supplement without a doctor’s supervision should be aware that these supplements appear to have few clear-cut benefits for healthy individuals and no proven influence on the aging process. Scientific Proof Humans Are Becoming Gods Written by Steven Bancarz| We are becoming literal gods, and we are going to explore some of the hard peer-reviewed

scientific evidence to support this claim. In 1000 years from now, we will look like petty cavemen in our current physical and mental state compared to future humans. And in our current state, we would appear as gods to our ancestors even from just a few thousand years ago. Our consciousness and bodies are evolving at a rate never seen before in the history of the earth. We can look around the world and see the signs of dramatic spiritual evolution as we continue to actualize our fullest potential. There is an awakening happening right now, and December 21st 2012 really did mark the dawn of a new age of enlightenment that we are gradually growing into. But as this global awakening is happening, our physical vehicles and intelligence levels are also evolving as we step into the light of this new age.

In 2007, Dr. John Hawks, professor of anthropology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, published an article in the peer-reviewed journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) titled “Recent acceleration of human adaptive evolution”. This article showed that positive selection within human beings has occurred at a rate 100 times higher than any other time in human history, and that this massive acceleration within evolution has happened particularly within the last 5000 years(3).

The study specifically looked for DNA sequence variation known as SNPs which are mutations at a single point on a chromosome. As indicated in Health and Medicine Week, “The researchers identify recent genetic change by finding long blocks of DNA base pairs that are connected. Because human DNA is constantly being reshuffled through recombination, a long, uninterrupted segment of LD is usually evidence of positive selection. Linkage disequilibrium decays quickly as recombination occurs across many generations, so finding these uninterrupted segments is strong evidence of recent adaptation, Hawks says” (4). The researchers concluded that as the population of human beings continues to increase, the acceleration effect of evolution has also increased because of the amount of room there is for new mutations to occur and be passed throughout the population. According to the original journal article publication, approximately 1800 genes, or 7% of our entire genetic system, have experience recent positive selection. They add that “To the extent that new adaptive alleles continued to reflect demographic growth, the Neolithic and later periods would have experienced a rate of adaptive evolution >100 times higher than characterized most of human evolution.”(5) With the cultivation of agriculture, the constant changes and experimentation in diet (such as the adaptive tolerances to lactose in milk), the exposure to diseases (such as the introduction of the CCR5 gene to make people resistant to AIDS), and the massive spike in human population within the last 10,000 years, nature has been presented with the optimal breeding grounds for positive selection and new adaptive mutations in the introduction of a massive gene pool and constantly changing environments(6). For example, in only the past few millennia, Europeans have experienced rapid changes in the gene for a protein that transfers potassium ions in and out of taste buds and nerve cells, as well as changes in genes associated with Alzheimer’s disease and even cancer.(7) John Hawks boldest of claims was recorded on the University of WisconsinMadison website, where Hawks says: “We are more different genetically from people living 5,000 years ago than they

were different from Neanderthals.”(8) In other words, if you take a human being from 3000 BC such as an ancient Egyptian, you will find that they are more similar to Neanderthals in terms of their genetics than they are to us. Anthropologist and geneticist Dr. Henry Harpending from the University of Utah also participated in conducting this study, and told National Geographic that “If humans had always evolved at this rate, the difference between modern humans and chimps should be 160 times greater than it really is.”(9) There is a vast body of empirical evidence that suggests that human beings have recently been the subjects of accelerated natural selection within genetic information.

There is also evidence that this recent acceleration in evolution is not only biologically physical, but is also mental in terms of intelligence. J.R. Flynn, professor of political science at the University of Otago in New Zealand, discovered that IQ scores across the globe have went up 3 points on average per decade for each decade for as long as IQ test scores have been recorded (which has been since 1910 in the United States). This means that someone that scored in the top 10% on the IQ test 100 years ago would now been in the weakest 5%. These increases have been occurring at a steady rate amongst both male and female genders and have been empirically verified in over 20 countries(10) The average IQ score has always been set to 100, so if a person passes the IQ test with a score of 130, they are among the higher end of performers, and a score of 80 would deviate far from the average raw score. What is striking is that IQ scores have had to be continuously made more difficult over the last century to keep the mean score at 100. Flynn discovered that the greatest differences were found in culturally reduced tests and fluid intelligence. Fluid intelligence is the ability to think rationality, abstractly, and find solutions to novel problems independent of acquired knowledge. He makes adamant the fact that these are not learned-content gains through more information being accessible to people, as this would only reflect crystallized intelligence regarding the application of learned knowledge (11). And furthermore, other environmental factors such as more education and better economic situations are impoverished when trying to adequately explain the gaps in some of the cases, such as the increase in IQ scores by a total of 20 points in 30 years by the Dutch.

As Flynn states in one of his original papers, “The international data fall into the same pattern as the American data. Gains are about 18 IQ points per generation (30 years) on Ravens, somewhere between 9 and 18 points on Wechsler and Stanford–Binet tests, about 9 points on purely verbal tests, small or nil on Wechsler subtests such as arithmetic, information, and vocabulary”(12). The Ravens test measures reasoning abilities using abstract objects independent of language, writing, and reading. This means that these test increases are not a result of people having more access to knowledge and information, but shows that on the contrary, the most significant results were indicated in testings that involve pure problem-solving intelligence, such as identifying non-verbal patterns and relationships.(13) Environmental impacts that can explain these increases in IQ scores have yet to be identified, and are still being speculated upon. These are some of the most important discoveries in psychology, which Flynn calls “a cultural renaissance too great to be overlooked”(14). Contrary to some of the scientific consensus, human evolution is undergoing dramatic increase in terms of genetics and

intelligence. We now have scientific proof that evolution is not merely a matter of cultural ingenuity and social conditionings. Nor is it exclusively reserved for physiological adaptation, but is in fact a concrete measurable phenomenon in human psychology that happening within our species right now. Evolution can now be spoken of in something that is currently in a state of progression towards complexity, as we have seen from the evidence of geneticists and psychologists alike. Is this accelerated state just one random hiccup that will plateau in the near future? Will we continue to evolve at this exponential rate from this point forward? Are we witnessing the physical manifestation of the ancient prophecies of apotheosis? As long as the necessary and sufficient conditions for this speed-up in evolution remain present (population increases, environmental changes, technological and intellectual refining) we should see this effect sufficiently sustained in coming years, and the rate of evolution should continue to increase. In 1000 years, we will be literal gods in comparison to our current state. We will have technologies and abilities that we could only dream of right now, and our bodies will be so much more evolved that we will look back a millennium and wonder how ancient man lived such primitive lives with such archaic bodies. Maybe we really are entering the Golden Age of spiritual and physical evolution that so many ancient cultures spoke of.

4 Ways You Can Live Longer (Or Forever)

I am. Those are two of the most powerful words we can speak. Someday, though, each and every one of us won’t be on earth to speak those words in reference to the organic skin that is dangling on our bones right now. This is nothing to be sad about but it is important to think about. These days longevity is all the rage. From human growth hormones, to plastic surgery, to nootropics people are investing in a longer life-span that goes deeper than simply eating raw foods and working out. Some of these scientific advancements really work, allowing us to perform optimally at an old age. With that said, here are 4 ways you can live longer at an advanced A certain species of jellyfish has been called “immortal” by scientists who have observed its ability to, when in crisis, revert its cells to their earliest form and grow anew. That means that these tiny creatures, 4 mm to 5 mm long, potentially have infinite lives. The creature, known scientifically as Turritopsis nutricula, was discovered in the Mediterranean Sea in 1883, but its unique regeneration was not known until the mid-1990s. If a mature Turritopsis is threatened — injured or starving, for example — it attaches itself to a surface in warm ocean waters and converts into a blob. From that state, its cells undergo transdifferentiation, in which the cells essentially transform into different types of cells. Muscle cells can become sperm or eggs, or nerve cells can change into muscle cells, “revealing a transformation potential unparalleled in the animal kingdom,” according to the original study of the species published in 1996. There are scientist trying to figure out how to apply this awesomeness to aging and injured humans. While nothing crazy is in the works at the moment, my money is on science to whip something up that greatly increases longevity. Maybe not

in our lives but relatively soon. id you know that full body transplants have already occurred? Well, they have with some of our unfortunate primates friends. No matter your views on animal testing, it is leading to a real probability that full body transplants will be happening soon. Just imagine if Stephen Hawking was given a new body at the age of 70, walking the halls of whatever University he’d be speaking to. It is and inspiring thought to think. He has already defeated death in many ways after being diagnosed with ALS at 21. He was expected to die at 25. Still, a new body for those who are debilitated in some facet is extraordinary to consider. Better yet, if you die, your body being used for somebody else. Organ transplants is a modern concept. Body transplants are already a probability in the near future.

The Singularity

The trend towards transhumanism is undeniable. One may claim they are against it but it’s hard to find a person in the Western world not addicted to a digital device in one form or another. Ray kurzweil is the leading spokesman and predicts that by around 2030, humans will have reverse engineered the brain. This include thoughts and emotions. The union of human and machine may not lead to happiness and nirvana but as far as longevity of life.

The Simple Science Of Today

There are a number of companies throwing products around for capitalistic gains. Some of the products help increase physical and mental strength, while others not-so-much. Generally speaking, eating raw, easy-to-digest foods that are rich in vitamins and nutrients is the best way to go. Finding hobbies that keep the mind sharp and body in-shape and flexible is also important. These are old-school methods to live longer and they work. In the 1700’s people were not living much past 40. Life was tough. These days, getting on a bicycle, eating fruits and vegetables may be all one needs to live long enough for technology to allow one to live forever. I am soon to be immortal. For better or worse.

5 Toxic Behaviors You Shouldn’t Tolerate From Others If you are trying to create a better life for yourself, it’s a good idea to evaluate the people you are close with to make sure they don’t exhibit any chronic, toxic behaviors.

Toxic behaviors are not only unpleasant to be around, but left unchecked, the negativity they likely elicit from you can snowball and bleed into all areas of your life. It’s hard to be positive and optimistic when you are in a relationship that isn’t good for your soul. Here are 5 behaviors you shouldn’t tolerate from others. We all can be a little negative from time to time, so please don’t assume that everyone you are close to must be “perfect” and never do any of these things. However, if you are close with someone who exhibits toxic behaviors on a consistent basis, you might want to consider removing yourself from the relationship: 1)Avoid relationships that center around gossip. As has famously been said: “Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.” Quality relationships are based on an exchange of ideas and excitement; this is what helps us grow, evolve and achieve our dreams.

2) Backhanded compliments Backhanded compliments are a form of passive aggression (e.g. “it’s nice to meet someone who doesn’t care about the way they look” or “I don’t care what they say, you’re alright”). These hidden insults come from people who are radiating low vibrational energy. Good relationships will only uplift you with kind and genuine feedback.

3) Competitiveness Constantly being one-upped or having someone nip at your heels is not healthy. People who are happy for your successes and confident in their own accomplishments are the only ones capable of providing you with quality support. The only person anyone should be competing with is himself or herself.

4) One-sidedness Individuals who only come around when it suits them or who demand that things should always be done their way will

likely leave you feeling marginalized and unloved. Good relationships demonstrate a solid balance of compromise and mutual respect.

5) Pointing out your flaws Being close with someone who tells humiliating stories about you, criticizes your looks or likes to post ugly pictures of you on social media can be damaging to your self-esteem. The best friends and lovers will focus on your positive qualities and care about your feelings.

If you feel that you are in a relationship with someone who exhibits toxic behaviors, you might want to think about distancing yourself from it. Even if you find that you can’t fully end the relationship you will benefit from pulling away a bit and resolving to spend more time with people who are good for your soul. You deserve to be happy and you deserve to be respected. Anyone who tries to make you feel otherwise should be held at arm’s length.

12 Toxic Behaviors that Push People Away From You!

In our line of work, Angel and I hear from hundreds of coaching clients every month. Through this experience, we’ve come across scores of toxic behaviors that push people away from each other. And we’ve witnessed the devastation these behaviors cause – to relationships, to personal and professional growth, and to the general well-being of both the individual behaving negatively, and to everyone in their life.

Let’s be honest – we’ve all acted in toxic, damaging ways at one time or another. None of us are immune to occasional toxic mood swings, but many people are more evolved, balanced and aware, and such occurrences happen only rarely in their lives.

Whether your toxic behavior is a common occurrence, or just a once in a blue moon phenomena, it’s critical for your longterm happiness and success that you are able to recognize when you’re behaving negatively, and consciously shift your mindset when necessary.

The twelve most common toxic behaviors we see are:

Being envious of everyone else. – Don’t let envy (or jealously) get the best of you. Envy is the art of counting someone else’s blessings instead of your own. There is nothing attractive or admirable about this behavior. So stop comparing your journey with everyone else’s. Your journey is YOUR journey, NOT a competition. You are in competition with one person and one person only – yourself. You are competing to be the best you can be. If you want to measure your progress, compare yourself to who you were yesterday.

Taking everything too personally. – People are toxic to be around when they believe that everything happening around them is a direct assault on them or is in some way all about them. The truth is that what people say and do to you is much more about them, than you. People’s reactions to you are about their perspectives, wounds and experiences. Whether people think you’re amazing, or believe you’re the worst, again, is more about them. I’m not suggesting we should be narcissists and ignore all feedback. I am saying that so much hurt, disappointment and sadness in our lives comes from our taking things personally. In most cases it’s far more productive and healthy to let go of other people’s good or bad opinion of you, and to operate with your own intuition and wisdom as your guide. Acting like you’re always a victim. – Another toxic behavior is persistent complaining that fuels your sense of victimization. Believing you’re a victim, that you have no power to exert and no power over the direction of your life, is a toxic stance that keeps you stuck. Working as a life coach with people who have suffered major trauma in their lives but found the courage to turn it all around, I know we all have access to far more power, authority, and influence over our lives than we initially believe. When you stop complaining, and refuse to see yourself as a helpless victim, you’ll find that you are more powerful than you realized, but only if you choose to accept this reality.

Hoarding pain and loss. – One of the hardest lessons in life is letting go – whether it’s guilt, anger, love or loss. Change is never easy – you fight to hold on and you fight to let go. But oftentimes letting go is the

healthiest path forward. It clears out toxic thoughts from the past. You’ve got to emotionally free yourself from the things that once meant a lot to you, so you can move beyond the past and the pain it brings you. Again, it takes hard work to let go and refocus your thoughts, but it’s worth every bit of effort you can muster. % %

Obsessive negative thinking. – It’s very hard to be around people who refuse to let go of negativity – when they ruminate and speak incessantly about the terrible things that could happen and have happened, the scorns they’ve suffered, and the unfairness of life. These people stubbornly refuse to see the positive side of life and the positive lessons from what’s happening. Pessimism is one thing – but remaining perpetually locked in a negative mindset is another. Only seeing the negative, and operating from a view that everything is negative and against you, is a twisted way of thinking and living, and you can change that.

Lack of emotional self-control. – An inability to manage your emotions is toxic to everyone around you. We all know these people – those who explode in anger and tears over the smallest hiccup or problem. Yelling at the grocery store clerk for the long line, screaming at an employee for a small error she made, or losing it with your daughter for spilling juice on the floor. If you find that you’re overly emotional, losing your cool at every turn, you may need some outside assistance to help you gain control over your emotions and understand what’s at the root of your inner angst. There’s more to it than what appears on the surface. An independent perspective – and a new kind of support – can work wonders. Making superficial judgments about others. – Don’t always judge a person by what they show you. Remember, what you’ve seen is oftentimes only what that person has chosen to show you, or what they were driven to show based on their inner stress and pain. Alas, when another person tries to make you suffer in some small way, it is usually because they suffer deep within themselves. Their suffering is simply spilling over. They do not need punishment or ridicule, they need help. If you can’t help them, let them be.

Cruelty (or lacking empathy and compassion). – One of the most toxic behaviors – cruelty – stems from a total lack of empathy, concern or compassion for others. We see it every day online and in the media – people

being devastatingly unkind and hurtful to others just because they can. They tear people down online in a cowardly way, using their anonymity as a shield. Cruelty, backstabbing, and hurting others for any reason is toxic, and it hurts you as well. If you find yourself backstabbing and tearing someone else down, stop in your tracks. Dig deep and find compassion in your heart, and realize that we’re all in this together. % %

Cheating and cutting moral corners simply because you can. – Cheating is a choice, not a mistake, and not an excuse! If you decide to cheat, and you succeed in cheating someone out of something, don’t think that this person is a fool. Realize that this person trusted you much more than you ever deserved. Be bigger than that. Don’t do immoral things simply because you can. Don’t cheat. Be honest with yourself and everyone else. Do the right thing. Integrity is the essence of everything successful.

Hiding your truth. – People cannot connect with you if you’re constantly trying to hide from yourself. And this becomes a truly toxic situation the minute they become attached to your false persona. So remember, no matter what age, race, sex, or sexuality you are, underneath all your external decorations you are a pure, beautiful being – each and every one of us are. We each have light to shine, and missions to accomplish. Celebrate being different, off the beaten path, a little on the weird side, your own special creation. If you find yourself feeling like a fish out of water, by all means find a new river to swim in. But DO NOT change who you are; BE who you are. Don’t deny yourself, improve yourself. Needing constant validation. – People who constantly strive for validation by others are exhausting to be around. Those men and women who get caught up in the need to prove their worth over and over and over, and constantly want to win over everyone around them, are unintentionally toxic and draining. Know this. Overattaching to how things have to look to others can wear you out and bring everyone else around you down. There is a bigger picture to your life, and it’s not about what you achieve in the eyes of the masses. It’s about the journey, the process, the path – what you’re learning, how you’re helping others learn too, and the growing process you allow yourself to participate in.

Being a stubborn perfectionist. – As human beings, we often chase hypothetical, static states of perfection.

We do so when we are searching for the perfect house, job, friend or lover. The problem, of course, is that perfection doesn’t exist in a static state. Because life is a continual journey, constantly evolving and changing. What is here today is not exactly the same tomorrow – that perfect house, job, friend or lover will eventually fade to a state of imperfection. But with a little patience and an open mind, over time, that imperfect house evolves into a comfortable home. That imperfect job evolves into a rewarding career. That imperfect friend evolves into a steady shoulder to lean on. And that imperfect lover evolves into a reliable lifelong companion. Scientists Photograph Energy Field Leaving Body At Death, According To New Study

I recently came across an article that I thought was interesting enough to share, and I think I may be able to provide proper scientific support for these claims for the very first time ever by presenting the original published study. The timing of astral disembodiment in which the spirit leaves the body has allegedly been captured by Russian scientist Konstantin Korotkov, who photographed a person at the moment of his death with a bioelectrographic camera. The image taken using the gas discharge visualization method, an advanced technique of Kirlian photography, shows in blue the life force of the person leaving the body gradually.

The technique developed by Korotkov, who is director of the Research Institute of Physical Culture, St. Petersburg, is endorsed as a medical technology by the Ministry of Health of Russia and is used by more than 300 Doctors in the world for stress and monitoring progress of patients treated for diseases such as cancer. Korotkov says his energy imaging technique could be used to watch all kinds of imbalances biophysical and diagnose in real time and also to show if a person does have psychic powers or is a fraud. –

9. Mobile Body Awareness Body awareness is normally centered in the eyes, but it does not have to stay there. Mobile body awareness (MBA) - the ability to focus body awareness on any specific part of the body — is simple and easily learned, and is an extremely important skill.

  Combined with other techniques, it enables the dynamic manipulation of the energy body and its energy centers, or chakras, allowing specific parts of the energy body to be directly stimulated, and the flow of energy into and through it to be increased in a controlled way. In the coming exercises, a deep level of relaxation or trance is not required. Light relaxation is quite adequate. Just close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and allow your mind to wind down and settle for a few moments. This is all that is required. I suggest that you do not use a bed for these early exercises, unless you really have to, but instead sit in a comfortable chair with your shoes off. Place a cushion under your feet, wear loose clothing, and do not cross your legs. In these coming exercises, lightly scratch or rub specified body parts as needed, using a small stick or ruler if you have difficulty reaching some parts. This helps to highlight and target specific areas, so that body awareness can be focused more easily and accurately. This scratching is not necessary after you become used to the technique; you will be able to target specific areas with body awareness alone. Repeat the MBA exercises below without scratching and see how you get on without this aid.

  Try to do this with eyes closed, so you are focusing with body awareness only. Use your eyes if you really need to, but do without using your eyes as soon as targeting can be done with body awareness alone. To demonstrate shifting your center of body awareness and targeting specific areas on the body, lightly scratch the skin of your left knee with your fingernails, just hard enough to leave a slight tingling sensation after you stop scratching. Close your eyes and feel this tingling area with your body awareness. Become intensely aware of that area. Highlight it with body awareness. Feel for this tingling area with your body awareness alone, with your sense of touch and feel. Forget about the rest of your body for now. Next, feel for more of the same knee and become more acutely aware of it as a whole joint. Feel its outline and shape and really get the feel of it with your body awareness. Your center of awareness is now focused entirely in your left knee. Shift your point of body awareness to your right knee, scratching it first to highlight it. Feel its shape and outline with your awareness. Center your awareness entirely in your right knee. Shift your point of body awareness to your right big toe. Scratch it on top of the large joint, where it joins your foot. Wiggle the toe a bit to help you get the feel of it, so you can zero in on it with your body awareness. Feel the whole toe. Feel the tingle on top of it, then feel its outline and shape with your body awareness. Center awareness entirely in your right big toe. Shift your point of body awareness to several other parts of your body - anywhere you like highlighting them first by a light scratching or rubbing. Feel these different areas as you target them with your (now mobile) point of body awareness.

Increasing Sensitivity To improve your body awareness sensitivity, do the following MBA exercises as often as you can

until you get the feel for this technique. They will progressively improve your sensitivity, which is extremely important for all the exercises and techniques given in this book. When first learning to move awareness through the surface of your body, it helps if you trace the pathway along your skin with fingertips or a paintbrush, to highlight the path for your body awareness, making it easier to follow with your point of awareness alone. If this is not enough, lightly and slowly scratch or rub the pathway along your skin with your fingernails or a ruler. Follow the slightly tingling trail this leaves behind on your skin with your point of body awareness alone. For tracing and learning wider energy pathways, I suggest you use a paintbrush of the appropriate width. You can do this yourself or have a partner do it for you while you follow the sensations caused by the touch of the moving brush with your point of body awareness. Or you can rub a pathway with your fingers, stroking them repeatedly along the chosen pathway. To start with, I suggest tracing a pathway from the base of your left thumb, along the sensitive inside of your arm and on up to your left shoulder. Close your eyes and concentrate on the feel of the brush or fingers touching and moving along the surface of your skin. Ignore the hand doing the brushing. Repeatedly stroke this pathway, from thumb to shoulder and back to your thumb again, following this with your point of body awareness until you have a good feel for this path. Repeat the above exercise with your right arm. Next, trace and follow a path from your left big toe, up the outside of your shin, over your kneecap, and on up the outside of your thigh to your left hip joint, then back down to the big toe again. Repeat the above exercise with your right leg. Practice this technique until you can trace a pathway to anywhere on your body with your point of body awareness alone, feeling your way along the surface of your skin without having to follow a manually highlighted pathway. Rub and scratch and highlight, as often and for as long as you need to in order to learn this technique. If you are training with a partner, you can help each other by brushing each other's body to stimulate pathways, or with a stroking one-handed massage. Massage is a very good way of learning how to focus and move a point of body awareness. Have your partner give you a slow one-handed massage and follow the touch of his or her hand with your point of awareness. Have him or her trace pathways up your legs and arms, and up your back, following touch with your awareness.

  Using only one hand for this makes it easier to follow with your awareness.

MBA Exercise Focus your awareness in your right knee again until you can feel it well with your awareness. Shift your center of awareness slowly down the outside of your right shin, feeling your shin as your awareness slides down it.

  Keep moving your awareness slowly until your center of awareness comes to your right foot. Move your awareness slowly out to your right big toe. Feel this toe with your awareness. Wiggle it a little and make sure you can really feel it and are targeting it well. Move your point of awareness to the toe next to it and feel its shape and outline with your awareness. Tense, move, wiggle, touch, or scratch each toe as needed, to highlight and target it. Next, move your awareness across to your left foot and feel that foot with your awareness. Flex

and tense your left foot slightly to get the feel of it as a whole. Next, center awareness in your left big toe. Feel your awareness sliding back toward your ankle, then slowly on up over your left shin until it comes to rest in your left knee.

  Keep it moving, sliding up your thigh and slowly on up the left side of your body until you can feel your left shoulder. Move your awareness down the outside of your left arm, moving slowly past your elbow to your left hand. Feel your whole left hand with your awareness. Move and center your awareness in your left thumb. Feel its shape and outline with your awareness. Wiggle it a little if you need to highlight it. Feel all your other fingers, one at a time, with your awareness. You have just moved your center of body awareness all around your body, targeting and focusing your awareness in many parts of it. You have also been stimulating your energy body in the process, without knowing it was happening, as your center of awareness moved through your energy body. You may have felt some peculiar tingling or fuzzy sensations as you moved your point of awareness around your body. These sensations are caused by energy movement within your energy body, and are normal for this type of body awareness exercise. To effectively manipulate your energy body, it is necessary to be able to focus your point of awareness at a single point on your body, then to manipulate that point of awareness. This manipulation is done with active body awareness, with something I have called tactile imaging. Tactile imaging is very easy to learn and use.

  You have already learned the skills required for this and will soon get the hang of it. It just takes a little practice.

10. Tactile Imaging Tactile imaging (T.I.) is the active use of body awareness to directly stimulate and manipulate the substance of the energy body. This is simply an extension of MBA (Mobile body awareness). When body awareness is focused on a specific area, and that point of awareness is given motion, this motion directly stimulates the energy body in that area. When done at the site of a primary or secondary energy center (a major or minor chakra) that energy center will be directly stimulated. Individual energy centers can then be targeted and manipulated in a strong and dynamic way. I developed MBA and T.I. for a person who had been blind since birth and of course could not visualize at all, having no conception of what visual sight was like. This person contacted me on the Internet, via a Braille computer, and asked if I had a projection technique that did not rely on visualization. This was an interesting challenge, so I put my mind to solving the problem. After a few significant Eurekas, I came up with MBA and T.I. - both based on the sense of touch. When I road-tested this new technique, I was amazed at how effective it was. It was light years ahead of any other energy-body manipulation technique, far more powerful than visualization techniques. Since that time, I have used this discovery as the foundation for all my energy-body manipulation, development, and projection techniques. Ironically, I lost contact with the blind person who started all this, while the new T.I.-based projection technique (called rope) was in the throes of development.

Learning Tactile Imaging Focus body awareness alone on the specified target area and try not to use your eyes unless

you really have to. Many people find they cannot learn MBA or T.I. techniques without using their eyes to help target specific areas. Do what is necessary, but wean yourself from using your eyes as soon as you can.

  Many advanced exercises and techniques given later in this book do not allow the use of eyes or other targeting or highlighting aids. Circular Exercise The best way to learn tactile imaging is by doing it. Rest your hands comfortably in your lap, or on the arms of your chair, palms down and fingers slightly spread. Close your eyes, relax, and shift your awareness to the base of your right thumb, topside. There are important secondary energy centers (small chakras) in the thumb joints and you are now going to stimulate one of them. Many people will feel one of the thumb centers (small chakras) activate the first time they work on them. The first area to work on is on top of the large joint where your thumb joins the right hand. Flex your thumb while holding this joint between your other fingers to help locate it. Lightly scratch a circular area, clockwise, on top of the thumb joint, about half an inch (1 cm) or so across, to highlight it with awareness. Slowly trace a finger around this same circular path, while following the touch of that finger with your point of awareness. That point of touch, that point of feel, is your point of awareness.

  Continue following this action until you can remember the exact feel of this circular movement and can re-create this action with your point of awareness alone. (A small artist's paintbrush can also be used for this purpose.)

Feel the tingling target area on top of your thumb joint with your point of awareness. Re-create and feel the circular stirring action. Move your point of awareness in a small clockwise circle in that area, as if you were stirring it with

an imaginary pencil. Concentrate and feel this action, continuing the motion with your point of awareness alone.

  Move your sense of feel through your skin with a circular motion. Keep stirring this center with one or two circling actions per second. (The timing is not crucial.) In a short time, this action will gain its own momentum and become almost automatic. It will then take very little effort to continue this action. Hold your point of awareness very close inside your skin as you do this. Feel your point of awareness continually circling and moving through your skin in the target area. After a while - anything from a few seconds to a few minutes during a first attempt - you should start to feel a slight localized heaviness, pressure, tingling, buzzing, or even a bone-deep tickling sensation inside your thumb joint. This may extend into more of your thumb and hand. This sensation indicates that the energy center in the thumb joint has been successfully stimulated into a higher level of energetic activity. If you feel this, immediately move on to the next exercise.

  If you feel nothing, after trying for several minutes, move on to the next exercise anyway. Stirring Exercise Move your point of awareness in a straight brushing action up and down through your right thumb, from just above the joint at the base to the tip of the nail, feeling this pathway as you go. Move your point of awareness continually back and forth through this area. You are now brushing your entire thumb with your point of awareness and are thus stimulating that whole area energetically.

  Feel the brushing action through the whole of your thumb. The sensations you may have felt earlier will intensify and spread through more of your thumb as you do this, as more and more secondary energy centers and energy exchange ports in the thumb become energetically active. Repeat both exercises on the thumb of your left hand.

  Repeat the exercise on the big toes of both feet, one at a time, starting on top of the large joints of the big toes only, where they join each foot. Stimulation Notes Often there are inactive secondary energy centers (small chakras) on one side of the body, but rarely on both sides. If you feel nothing after doing any awareness action for several minutes, move on to the next exercise. While energy-movement sensations become apparent in the majority of cases, some may feel nothing at all, although I have found a complete lack of sensation to be rare. No sensation at all indicates the energy body is blocked or inactive in that area. If this is the case, continue with these early exercises as best you can. It is important to learn and practice the technique. Later exercises in this book restore inactive areas and remove energy blockages. A hot shower or bath not only relaxes the physical body and cleanses the skin,

but also promotes a stronger energetic flow throughout the energy body. If you have trouble doing these exercises, try bathing first. The tingling in the skin caused by the scratching used to highlight target areas is not the cause of energy-movement sensations. Test this, if you wish, by repeating this exercise in the middle of your forearm, or in the middle of a bleep or thigh, where there are no significant secondary energy centers. This test will be found to cause no discernible energy-movement sensations. Alternatively, try this same exercise on another small energy center, but without the scratching.

  It is the movement of the focal point of body awareness through the energy body, at the site of an energy center, which causes energy-movement sensations.

Using Tactile Imaging Following are some simple but important exercises that build on those given in the previous chapter. These take you one step closer to taking manual control over your own energy body. Please take your time over these, as the practice of tactile imaging is fundamental to most of the procedures given within this book, including trance and projection techniques.

  Their importance cannot be overemphasized. Awareness Hands The most natural way to use your point of awareness is to feel you have an imaginary pair of hands. Awareness hands are the business ends of tactile imaging. These are powerful awareness tools and you will be using them for raising energy and manipulating energy centers, as well as for projection techniques. You will soon learn how to use them over larger areas and in many other practical energetic ways. Awareness hands are, in practice, simply extensions of body awareness. You have a left and a right awareness hand. Each hand is to be felt as being attached to an imaginary awareness arm coming from each of your shoulders, although the awareness arms themselves are not important. With practice, you will feel that each awareness hand is attached to a different side of your energy body. Each hand is attached to a different side of the brain, and one awareness hand is usually slightly weaker than the other, depending on which side of your brain is dominant.

  The more you use awareness hands, the stronger they become and the easier they are to use. Awareness Hands Exercise Close your eyes and relax, while sitting or lying comfortably. Using your body awareness alone (without actually moving), take both your awareness hands down to your left foot, as if you were grabbing hold of it. Scratch or rub the top of your left foot and wiggle it a bit to highlight it and make this exercise easier. Feel the whole of that foot. Draw your awareness hands through your left foot, from toes to heel, back and forth several times. After this, draw your awareness hands through your foot to your ankle, and then slowly take them on up through your whole leg. Feel the whole of your leg as you move your awareness hands upward through it. Draw your awareness

hands all the way up your shin, past your knee, up your thigh, and on up to your hip. When you get to your hip, flick your awareness instantly back down to your toes again and repeat the upward-stroking, energy-raising action. Do not stroke your awareness back down your leg. Repeat this action over and over, taking several seconds per stroke, feeling the whole of your leg each time. This action forces energy to flow into your foot and draws it up through your leg. You may feel some peculiar sensations as you do this, like tingling, buzzing, warmth, cold, pressure, heaviness, or even bone-deep tickling sensations.

  Repeat the entire exercise with your right leg. Splitting Awareness Exercise Splitting body-awareness is very simple and easy to do. It feels quite natural in practice, just like using both your real hands at the same time. As an example exercise, split your awareness and feel both your feet at the same time, after targeting them, feeling one in each of your awareness hands. Draw energy up both legs at the same time, exactly as you did with the previous exercise, over and over. With a little practice you'll be able to do this effortlessly. If you have trouble splitting awareness, stick to using one at a time until you feel more comfortable with splitting them. When you have had some practice at splitting your awareness hands, increase the speed of the upward stroking action until you can draw your awareness up through your legs at the same time, taking two or three seconds for each upward sweep, from feet to hips. To add to the above, imagine and feel as if you were sweeping water up through the whole of your legs with your awareness hands. Imagine your awareness hands are each holding a large sponge and you are sponging water upward through the whole of your legs. The water keeps trying to run back down your leg, so focused awareness effort is used to force the water to rise. This action provides more energetic resistance and gives your awareness hands something to grip onto, so to speak.

  This increases the effectiveness of any whole-of-limb energy-raising action. Visibly Detecting Awareness Hands After a little practice with using your awareness hands, you may start detecting them when they move past your closed eyes. This is especially so if you have been meditating at the same time.

  You may see vague shadows and indistinct moving shapes. It does not matter, though, if you never see anything, as it is not necessary to see anything for these techniques to work effectively. Watch for this side effect for interest's sake only: many people have reported this phenomenon. I always see my awareness hands when they move past my eyes, but I've had a lot of practice at this, so am not really a fair test subject. I rely on my volunteers to provide me with more realistic feedback. As an experiment, relax and close your eyes. Concentrate on feeling your awareness hands. Slowly raise your awareness hands past your face and eyes

and on up over your head several times (don't actually move your real hands), stroking your awareness hands over your face and head. Try to sense this from behind your closed eyes. See if you can detect shadowy movements, or if you can see the shape of your awareness hands as they move past your eyes. If you succeed at this, you are using a type of energy sight similar to real-time or astral sight, as discussed earlier.

  This experiment is most effective if done immediately after meditation.
