Get to know……  Sta.

Cruz Elementary School is a complete elementary school with a total enrolment of 344 for the School Year 2016-2017. It is managed by an Elementary School Principal I with 16 teachers. The school belongs in Nabua West District, Nabua, Camarines Sur.

 It is located in Barangay Sta. Cruz, a plain area along

the highway to Poblacion and the Bicol River. Its boundaries are Sto. Domingo, Sta. Barbara, San Antonio Ogbon, Madawon, and San Vicente Ogbon.  Sta. Cruz Elementary School is a public elementary school implementing the different programs and projects mandated under the Department of Education, Camarines Sur Division. Its programs and projects were such; Feeding Program, Gulayan sa Paaralan, Reading Program sponsored by EDUCO and others, and employing its best practices like Project HAM (Halina At Magbasa) and Pabasa sa Barangay.

History background….. 

Before the opening of Sta. Cruz Elementary School children attended their classes at the nearby barangay, Sto. Domingo Elementary School. After a few years HON. MARIANO SERMONA together with parents, agreed to contribute an amount of P 8.00 for every household for the purchase of a certain portion of land, but because of lack of funds, the owner of the nearby place donated a portion of lot to expand the area for the construction of BAHAY KUBO where the children were taught.

 In 1967, road linking Barangay Sta. Cruz to

the Poblacion was constructed, Sta. Cruz Elementary School came into being with Mrs. Ester Occiano as the first teacher. The school started with a Bahay Kubo as classroom. This was facilitated by the late Public Schools District Supervisor Maximina Q. Plotado and the late Barangay Captain Mariano Sermona. The Bahay Kubo Classroom was destroyed by Typhoon Sening in 1973 which was later replaced by a two-room Pre-fab classroom.

 In 1973, Bayanihan was conducted, so 33 pupils were housed under the lone Teacher Mrs. Ester Occiano and Mr. Feliciano Aguado was

the first PTA President. As the population boomed the improvement of the schools was developed, now Sta. Cruz Elementary School has already Bayanihan Building with three classrooms, Standard Building with one room, Intervida Building with one classroom and Evacuation Building was also erected in the school and used as an office and reading center and Bagong Lipunan Building with three classrooms.

 Sta. Cruz Elementary School is one of the

seventeen (17) schools in Nabua West District, Division of Camarines Sur, Region V-Bicol, with a total land area of 1,478 sq. m. and 4 km. away from the town proper. The school is a complete Elementary School with a kindergarten class. At present It has a total enrolment of 356 pupils from kinder to Grade VI.  The School is a recipient of EDUCO, and some schools supplies and other teaching materials was given by them for the augmentation of reading program. Sta. Cruz Elementary School is located in a flatty area, thus, during heavy rains and typhoons, the school grounds as well as classrooms is easily got flooded.
