Atlas Copco Hydraulic rock drills
COP 1240
For optimised productivity 12 kW hydraulic rock drill for the hole range 40–102 mm
This is optimised productivity
To come up with a successor to the COP 1238 was a real challenge. The powerful result is the COP 1240, a robust and extremely reliable rock drill. Designed specifically for cost-efficient surface drilling, it comes with an excellent pedigree: its interior design is a comprehensive further development of the well-known COP 1238 – and its tough exterior derives from the COP 1840. Talk about optimal productivity!
Exceptional dependability The COP 1240 is based on the same winning design that made its predecessor the COP 1238 one of the market’s most dependable and efficient rock drills. The uncomplicated, well-proven technology has been further refined, minimizing the risk of serious and costly downtime – making the COP 1240 something of a perpetual motion machine. A reliable single-stage damping system further contributes to its high operational reliability. In other words, the COP 1240 is the ultimate example of trouble-free operation and exceptional productivity.
Ruggedized for surface drilling The COP 1240 has been specially developed for surface operations, for efficient drilling of large holes at low cost. It also features a larger driver – which increases the service life of this exposed component. It helps reduce wear and keep operational costs low. Also, the COP 1240 partially comprises the same scale components used in the larger COP 1840. This makes for a generally extremely hardwearing rock drill, well suited to the most demanding production drilling. Laboratory test results

Flexibility is another of the COP 1240’s outstanding qualities. The drill can rapidly and easily be adjusted to exploit the available power in the best possible way. The COP 1240 offers three different stroke settings. This ensures optimal penetration rate – whether drilling soft or hard rock.
Service friendly Like its predecessor, simple and well thought out design makes the COP 1240 easy to service. Parts to be checked or serviced are highly accessible. This keeps servicing – and costs – to a minimum.
