Objectives 

Design a reinforce concrete column that will carry an axial dead and live load



Solve for the size of a column that will resist the loads



Solve for the number of bars that must be used



Solve for the spacing of bars and if it passes the standards of our code



Determine weather which NSCP between 2001 & 2010 is more economical

Given: Pdl = 1000Kn Pll = 900Kn f’c = 28 mpa fy = 415 mpa use 25 mm diam. main bars 10 mm diam. ties Steel ratio ρ = 0.02
