WELDING INSPECTION

Welding Inspector’s Equipment

- The welding inspector’s equipment partly depends on which work is to be performed. Client specification also determines what equipment is to be used; e.g. a portable arc monitoring unit (PAM unit) may be used to measure and record amperage and voltage instead of a hand held voltmeter and ammeter. a) b) c) d) e) f) g)

Steel Rule. Flexible tape measure. Temperature Indicating crayons or thermocouple (pyrometer). Bevel angle gauges. Root gap gauges. Fillet weld gauges. Misalignment gauge. 8
