What is it all About?

 Emotion recognition is the process of identifying human emotion, most typically from facial expressions as well as from verbal expressions.

New AI developments The emotion-detection and recognition market is growing in prominence and is expected to experience significant growth. $US 38 billion worldwide

“Wouldn’t it be great if your manager could know when you were a bit stressed-out, without you having to put it into words? And on the other side of the coin, surely management would benefit from knowing when an employee is too distracted to perform a task, and likely to commit a serious blunder?”

HOW?

Currently available in smartwatches and fitness trackers are able to detect stress level  through electrodermal activity by monitoring changes in heart rate and sweat – micro-changes of which we ourselves are unaware.

Emotion detection technology requires two techniques: • computer vision • machine learning algorithms.

1) Identify the emerging ethical dilemmas all about topic.

What is the social implication of the dilemma? • The rights of the other individuals will be violated • The personal information at the person would be possibly taken without their permission • Invasion of privacy

Why is it important to question the moral and ethical issues surrounded innovation is S&T • To know if that innovation will really help individuals • To avoid violating the rights of individual • To know if it gives benefit to everyone

In the face of this dilemma, why is studying STS important?
