been a real help: You’ve both been really helpful in the original sentence means the same as You’ve both been a real help in the other; be a real help is an expression in which the indefinite article a is used before an uncountable noun help as the reference is to a specific context strengthened by the use of an adjective (real).

a weight has been lifted: I’m feeling less stressed now means the same as I feel like a weight has been lifted (there is less pressure) – the present feeling of relaxation is the result of a past activity that took place recently – hence the use of the Present Perfect Simple.

what she would be studying: both sentences present plans for the future as seen from the past perspective – was going to study in the original sentence and would be studying in the other; as the main clauses are in a past tense (told me, she knew), the rules of Reported Speech apply; additionally, in both sentences the indirect question word order must be used.

you top up your: If you top up your pre-paid phone, you buy more credit which enables you to make more phone calls.

Jacob definitely won’t bother coming: If someone is certain that something won’t happen, it means it definitely won’t happen; the verb bother can be followed by both an infinitive and a gerund.

stepping outside her comfort: To step outside one’s comfort zone means to decide to experience a new situation that one is unfamiliar with and which could feel uncomfortable.
