ACKNOWLEDGMENT
I, BALRAJ JAHKAR, student of LLB (Hons.) programme, would hereby like to express my gratitude to Mr. Hansraj jakhar, Advocate, Palwal district Court for granting me the opportunity to intern under him. His support and guidance helped me in learning a lot about the practical side of law. Hence, had it not been for the mentioned people, my internship would not have been such a memorable learning experience.

Internship Report
Being a law student, it is important for me to have an in-depth understanding of the practical side of law. Simply focusing on the theoretical aspects would not hold me in good stead. Therefore, interning under a practicing lawyer is the best way of developing this understanding of the legal system of our country. For my second internship i interned with a High court advocate. Since the internship was during the time when the courts were closed for the winter break, I could not attend the trial hearings . Hence, the work assigned to me was done in the lawyer’s office itself. Mr Choudhry specializes in criminal law, therefore, all my work was in this area only. I was given cases to read that are pending in the court right now and are being argued by him as well as the files of those cases that have been disposed off. An important aspect of my internship was that Mr. Choudhry took personal interest in teaching me the basics of the criminal procedure of our legal system. I was taught the hierarchy of the criminal courts in our country and the role of various magistrates, police officials and the policing machinery. It was an enlightening session for me as criminal law is something I have a deep interest in. While at the office, all the interns were also given regular clerical work that taught us the important research techniques. Each intern was placed under a junior associate, to be guided by them, but we did have the permission to have a one to one doubt clearing session with Sir himself. Overall, my internship was an enriching experience and helped me gain much in terms of understanding the working of our country’s judicial system.
