Indication of Qur’an on Childhood to Death (The absolute truth)

Md. Elius Pathan (Mishor)

1

Indication of Qur’an on childhood to Death (The absolute truth) FORWARD The Qur'an is a Message from Allah (swt) to humanity. It was transmitted to us in a chain starting from the Almighty Himself (swt) through the angel Gabriel to the Prophet Muhammad (saw). This message was given to the Prophet (saw) in pieces over a period across approximately 23 years. The Prophet (saw) was 40 years old when the Qur'an began to be revealed to him, and he was 63 when the revelation was completed. The language of the original message was Arabic, but it has been translated into many other languages later. It is possible that a person may not intentionally lie; he may even be a person who makes great effort in ibaadah. ‘No one ever hides evil within thyselves except that Allah (swt) makes it visible from his facial outlook and the statements his tongues utters. On the Day of Judgment this would be very clear as Allah (swt) says:

“And on the Day of rebirth you will see those who lied against Allah (swt) their faces will be black. Is there not in Hell an abode for the arrogant ones?” [39:60] Allah (swt) also said: “On the Day when some faces will become white and some faces will become black; as for those whose faces will become dark (to them will be said): "Did you reject Faith after accepting it? Then taste the torment for rejecting Faith.” [3:106]

If we examine the life of an average human, we come to realize that life consists of four periods. Childhood: This usually lasts for maximum thirteen to fourteen years. The teenage years which usually lasts for six to eight years depending on when he gets married, (The Period of Youth). The third part of his life is from the time he gets married until his old age, which usually lasts for merely twenty to thirty years, and then lastly his old age whose exact time period cannot be said with certainty, depending on when death takes him. This book is a set of verses of Al-Qur’an about Islam, Truth, Childhood, Youth, Married and Death. May Allah (swt) bless us. Amen. Md. Elius Pathan (Mishor) Author This book is dedicated to my: Abba, Amma & belove Wife 2

Islam The word Islam means "submission", or the total surrender of oneself to Allāh (swt). An adherent of Islam is known as a Muslim, meaning "one who submits [to Allah]". The word Muslim is the participle of the same verb of which Islām is the infinitive. There are between 1 billion and 1.8 billion Muslims, making Islam the second-largest religion in the world. Islam is not a new religion, but the same truth that Allah (swt) revealed through all His prophets to every people. For a fifth of the world's population, Islam is both a religion and a complete way of life. Muslims follow a religion of peace, mercy, and forgiveness, and the majority have nothing to do with the extremely grave events which have come to be associated with their faith. Muslims believe that Allah (swt) revealed the Qur'an to Muhammad (saw), Allah's (swt) final prophet, through the angel Gabriel and regard the Qur'an and the Sunnah (words and deeds of Muhammad (saw)) as the fundamental sources of Islam. Islam includes many religious practices. Adherents are generally required to observe the Five Pillars of Islam, which are five duties that unite Muslims into a community. In addition to the Five Pillars, Islamic law (sharia) has developed a tradition of rulings that touch on virtually all aspects of life and society. The word Islam is given a number of meanings in the Qur'an. In some verses (ayat), the quality of Islam as an internal conviction is stressed: "Whomsoever Allah desires to guide, He expands his breast to Islam." Other verses connect islām and dīn (usually translated as "religion"): "Today, I have perfected your religion (dīn) for you; I have completed My blessing upon you; I have approved Islam for your religion." Still others describe Islam as an action of returning to Allah—more than just a verbal affirmation of faith. Another technical meaning in Islamic thought is as one part of a agreement of islam, imān (faith), and ihsān (excellence); where it represents acts of worship (`ibādah) and Islamic law (sharia). The Five Pillars of Islam •

The shahadah, which is the basic faith or theory of Islam: "ašhadu 'al-lā ilāha illā-llāhu wa 'ašhadu 'anna muħammadan rasūlu-llāh", or "I swear that there is none worthy of worship except Allah (swt) and I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah." This evidence is a foundation for all other beliefs and practices in Islam. Muslims must repeat the shahadah in prayer. Salah, or prayer, which must be performed five times a day. Each salah is done facing towards the Kaaba in Mecca. Salah is intended to focus the mind on Allah (swt) and is seen as a personal communication with him that expresses 3

gratitude and worship. Salah is compulsory but flexibility in the specifics is allowed depending on circumstances. In many Muslim countries, reminders called Adhan (call to prayer) are broadcast publicly from local mosques at the appropriate times. The prayers are recited in the Arabic language, and consist of verses from the Qur'an. Zakat: This is the practice of giving based on accumulated wealth, and is obligatory for all Muslims who can afford it. A fixed portion is spent to help the poor or needy, and also to assist the spread of Islam. The zakat is considered a religious obligation (as opposed to voluntary charity) that the well-off owe to the needy because their wealth is seen as a "trust from Allah's (swt) reward". Sawm or fasting during the month of Ramadan. Muslims must not eat or drink (among other things) from dawn to sunset during this month, and must be mindful of other sins. The fast is to encourage a feeling of nearness to Allah (swt), and during it Muslims should express their gratitude for and dependence on him, agreed for their past sins, and think of the needy. Sawm is not obligatory for several groups for whom it would constitute an undue burden. The Hajj, which is the pilgrimage during the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah in the city of Mecca. Every able-bodied Muslim who can afford it must make the pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in his or her lifetime. When the pilgrim is about ten kilometers from Mecca, he must dress in Ihram clothing, which consists of two white seamless sheets. Rituals of the Hajj include walking seven times around the Kaaba, touching the Black Stone, running seven times between Mount Safa and Mount Marwah, and symbolically stoning the Devil in Mina. The pilgrim, or the hajji, is honored in his or her community, although Islamic teachers say that the Hajj should be an expression of commitment to Allah (swt) instead of a means to gain social standing.

In the holy Quran about Islam, Reward and fear of Allah (swt), Allah (swt) says: Bala man aslama wajhahu lillahi wahuwa muhsinun falahu ajruhu AAinda rabbihi wala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona •

2:112/ Yea, indeed: everyone who surrenders his whole being unto Allah (swt), and is a doer of good withal, shall have his reward with his Sustainer; and all such need have no fear, and neither shall they grieve.

And if they surrender themselves unto Him, they are on the right path; but if they turn away - behold, thy duty is no more than to deliver the message: for Allah (swt) sees all that is in [the hearts of] His creatures.

Truth The word truth has a variety of meanings, from honesty, good faith, and sincerity in general, to agreement with fact or reality in particular. There are differing claims on such questions as what constitutes truth; what things are truthbearers capable of being true or false; how to define and identify truth; the roles that revealed and acquired knowledge play. Truth is a strange and powerful world. The truth of one's existence is a living, inward, and subjective experience that is always in the process of becoming. The values, morals, and spiritual approaches a person adopts, while not denying the existence of objective truths of those beliefs, can only become truly known when they have been inwardly appropriated through subjective experience. The human truth is something that is continually occurring, and a human being cannot find truth separate from the subjective experience of one's own existing, defined by the values and fundamental essence that consist of one's way of life. Allah (swt) the only true and we must believe of his creation and laws of Qur’an. Let’s know the verses of holy Qur’an:

Alhaqqu min rabbika fala takoonanna mina almumtareena •

2:147/ the truth from thy Sustainer! Be not, then, among the doubters:

Alhaqqu min rabbika fala takun mina almumtareena •

Childhood (beginning of the life) The stage of life after youth and before the beginning of sexual maturity is called childhood. Today we take it for granted that there is a stage in life which is labeled as ‘Childhood’ usually the period between birth and 12 years of age. (The teenage years represent a time during which young people have one foot in Childhood and one foot in Adulthood). In the childhood level every human is pure in heart and want to know about everything what is new to him. So childhood is the best time to teach the children for knowing the truth of the world and about Allah (swt) and his creation. So Allah (swt) said:

Youth (the golden age) The most crucial stage of his life is the period of youth. Youth is the period between childhood and adulthood, described as the period of physical and psychological development from the onset of puberty to maturity and early adulthood. Definitions of the specific age range that constitutes youth vary. An individual's actual maturity may not correspond to their chronological age, as immature individuals exist at all ages. This world demands the qualities of youth: not a time of life but a state of mind, a temper of the will, a quality of imagination, a predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite for adventure over the life of ease. Allah (swt) also likes the prayer of this age. Now, this is that period of his life that if he was to control his desires a bit, and sacrifice a few of these devilish desires, he can become a future role-model for Muslims. He can become a leader for his community, and the biggest achievement he can gain is success in the hereafter. As being admitted into paradise, and being saved from the hell fire, is, in reality truly the greatest success a person can gain. Allah has described this as a ‘great success' in the Holy Qur'an. The reason why this period of human life is so important and crucial is because this period of youth is generally what determines the way in which this period of his life is spent. If he spends this period of his life in an Islamic environment, visiting the Masjid for the five daily prayers, associating with the pious people and the true scholars of Islam, sitting in their gatherings, then, it is greatly hoped that he will spend the rest of his life in the same way. On the other hand, if the youth stays away from the Masjid and doesn't associate himself with the pious and scholars of Islam, but spends his time visiting the pubs/clubs, associating himself with girls and mischievous people, then it is most likely that the rest of his life will be spent in a similar manner, away from the Masjid and away from Deen, except if Allah wishes otherwise. Just like everything, life is also a gift from Allah and every aspect of it should be regarded as a gift and a trust from Allah. Allah expects us to spend this youth in His worship and obedience, seeking knowledge of Islam and acting upon it. This in itself is a form of gratefulness. In a Hadith, the Messenger of Allah (saw)said that the feet of the son of Adam will not be able to move until he is questioned regarding four things. 34

Indication of Qur’an on childhood to Death (The absolute truth) Out of these four questions, one question asked will be regarding how one spent his time as a youth. In another Hadith, the Messenger of Allah (saw) has said that on the Day of Judgement, there are seven types of people to whom Allah will give shade to. It is stated in Bukhari that on the Day of Judgement there will be no shade except for Allah's shade. And from amongst these groups, one group will be those youth who spent their youth in the worship of Allah. The reason being is because a youth has many desires, so whosoever goes against his desires and controls them in this delicate period of youth, and obeys the command of Allah, and tries his best to follow the Islamic Shariah, in such a time of his life when his desires are at their peak, then Allah will give him a great reward. Therefore, the period of youth is a very delicate and important period in a Muslim's life. If spent in the right way his time as a youth will benefit not only himself but also others. By visiting the Masjid, attending the gatherings of the scholars of Islam and seeking their advice and knowledge, serving one's parents and trying to carry out Allah (swt) orders to the best of ability then it is greatly hoped that one will grow up to become a leader of the Muslim community and become the coolness of one's parents eyes. If wasted by continuously committing sins, disobeying Allah's (swt) commands, then it is possible that on the Day of Judgment Allah will reprimand him regarding this. Allah (swt) said:

Wayatoofu AAalayhim ghilmanun lahum kaannahum luluon maknoonun •

52:24/ And they will be waited upon by [immortal] youths, [as if they were children] of their own, [as pure] as if they were pearls hidden in their shells.

Marriage (The life mate) Marriage is uniquely beneficial to society because it is the foundation of the family and the basic building block of society. It brings significant stability and meaning to human relationships It remains the ideal for the raising of children. It plays an important role in transferring culture and civilization into future generations. Marriage is not merely a private contract, but a social institution of great public concern. • • •

The Prophet (saw) was once asked, "What is more important than prayer?" He replied, "The spirit of prayer" - the spirit that animates the prayer. He was asked what is more important than fasting - he replied, the spirit of fasting. For each question concerning an Islamic practise the answer was the same - because the spirit brings the action to life and unfolds its potentials. Without this animating spirit, the prayer is only movement, and the fasting only hunger. But when spirit enters, when a pure and concentrated intention enters, the action is transformed - the prayer gains the potential to become a miraj (an elevating spiritual journey), and the one fasting approaches towards the potential to witness laylatul qadr (the night of destiny - a night when blessings from the spiritual world descend to this world). So what is more important than marriage? It is the spirit of marriage, the intention which underlies it, the treasures which it contains hidden within it but which must be brought out and realized by the married couple themselves. Since "Allah created everything in pairs", as it states in the Qur'an, and since He "created the male and the female from a single nature, from a single self", it is Allah (swt) that is the point of reference for the married pair. "He has set up the balance..." of all things, so He is to be looked for to set all things in the right equilibrium. If the two partners of a marriage set themselves in correct relation to Allah (swt) then certainly a perfect balance will be realized within their lives together. In Islam, polygamy is allowed for men, with the specific limitation that they can only have up to four wives at any one time, given the religious requirement that they are able to and willing to partition their time and wealth equally among the respective wives. For a Muslim wedding to take place, the bride and her guardian must both agree on the marriage. Should either the guardian or the girl disagree on the marriage, it may not legally take place. In essence, while the guardian/father of the girl has no right to force her to marry, he has the right to stop a marriage from taking place, given that his reasons are valid. The professed purpose of this practice is to ensure that a woman finds a suitable partner whom she has chosen not out of sheer emotion. From an Islamic (Shari'Ah) law perspective, the minimum requirements and responsibilities in a Muslim marriage are that the groom provide living expenses (housing, clothing, food, 36

Indication of Qur’an on childhood to Death (The absolute truth) maintenance) to the bride, and in return, the bride must be a partner (sexually) to the husband. All other rights and responsibilities are to be decided between the husband and wife, and may even be included as stipulations in the marriage contract before the marriage actually takes place, so long as they do not go against the minimum requirements of the marriage (for example: the woman marries the man with the condition that she will not sleep with him). The qur'an provides the signposts and waymarks for learning about this potential. It says:

Wed: Wala tankihoo almushrikati hatta yuminna walaamatun muminatun khayrun min mushrikatin walaw aAAjabatkum wala tunkihoo almushrikeena hatta yuminoo walaAAabdun muminun khayrun min mushrikin walaw aAAjabakum olaika yadAAoona ila alnnari waAllahu yadAAoo ila aljannati waalmaghfirati biithnihi wayubayyinu ayatihi lilnnasi laAAallahum yatathakkaroona •

Indication of Qur’an on childhood to Death (The absolute truth)

Death The Quran mentions that death is inevitable and cannot be delayed nor advanced. The time of death has been pre-determined for everyone. Like Jews and Christians, Muslims believe that the present life is only a trial preparation for the next realm of existence. Basic articles of faith include: the Day of Judgment, resurrection, Heaven and Hell. When a Muslim dies, he or she is washed, usually by a family member, wrapped in a clean white cloth, and buried with a simple prayer preferably the same day. Muslims consider this one of the final services they can do for their relatives, and an opportunity to remember their own brief existence here on earth. The Prophet taught that three things can continue to help a person even after death; charity which he had given, knowledge which he had taught and prayers on their behalf by a righteous child. When a person dies in this world, only his physical body dies and decays in the ground. His soul, which is his essence, feelings, memories and senses, is transferred into another ghostlike body. After death, the soul cannot return back. This ghostlike body lives in another dimension, the unseen world, which is beyond our human senses and knowledge. Here are the stages of death, according to some scholars’ understandings of verses from the Quran and from the words of Prophet Muhammad (saw). 1. The stupors of death: The angel of death either extracts the soul painfully from the wrongdoers or gently from the pious ones, or then transfers the soul into a ghostlike body. 2. Misguiding of the devil: The last temptation of the devil is to deceive a dying person with his trickery. The good ones will not fall into temptation. 3. Entering the grave: When the body is buried, the soul stays beside the body and sees the horrifying unseen world. 4. Squeezing or pressure of the grave: When people leave the gravesite, angels come to squeeze the soul fiercely, making it scream loudly. Few souls are exempted from this punishment. 5. Munkar and Nakeer: These two angels come after the squeezing and question the soul about the beliefs of his faith. If the soul does not answer properly and was a wrongdoer in life, then he will be punished in the hellfire of the unseen world until the Day of Judgment or until his sins are purged. If the person was a pious true believer, then he will answer the questions properly and two angels of glad tidings will come to escort him to the Paradise of the unseen world. 6. The first blow of the trumpet: Both the seen and unseen worlds will exist until the first blow of the trumpet on the last day, when all living things, including angels and souls, will die. Nothing will be left except the living Allah (swt).

45

Indication of Qur’an on childhood to Death (The absolute truth) 7. The second blow of the trumpet and the resurrection: When the second blow occurs, Allah (swt) will re-create everything and the souls will return to their physical bodies for the Day of Judgment. 8. Accounting: Every person will be given his book of deeds and will be asked to judge himself. If a person tries to deny a bad deed, his body’s organs will witness against him. Accounting will be only for those who have both good and bad deeds. The pious ones who have only good deeds will be taken to Paradise without accounting, and the evil ones who have only bad deeds will be taken to the hellfire without accounting. 9. Bridge over the hellfire: Everyone must cross the bridge over hellfire, which is said to be sharper than a blade and thinner than a strand of hair. The more good deeds a person has, the faster he will cross over. Some will cross over like a flash of light. Some might take years to cross. Others might fall into the hellfire below. 10. The intercession: While the people with only a few sins are taken for their punishment, the prophets and their true successors will intercede for them with the permission of Allah (swt). By this, Allah (swt) shows His great appreciation to His beloved servants. 11. Eternal hellfire and eternal Paradise: On the Day of Judgment, the evil ones will go to the hellfire. Some of the evil ones will be in the hellfire eternally and others might eventually come out of the hellfire after their sins have been purged. The good ones will be taken to Paradise to eternal enjoyment and fulfillment. In Paradise, there are bounties and blessings beyond our imagination and thought. As mentioned in the Quran, the greatest bliss is Allah (swt)’s pleasure. In the holy Qur’an:

Say: "Verily, all power of decision does rest with Allah (swt)" - [but as for them,] they are trying to conceal within themselves that [weakness of faith] which they would not reveal unto thee, [O Prophet, by] saying, "If we had any power of decision, we would not have left so many dead behind." Indication of Qur’an on childhood to Death (The absolute truth)

Conclusion: The Messenger (saw) of Allah (swt) said: “Whenever Allah (swt) intends to do good to a servant, He hastens to punish him in this world. And whenever Allah (swt) intends evil for a servant, He postpones the punishment until the Day of Judgement.”[26]

‘O you who are dead at heart, you must practise constantly the remembrance of your Lord (swt), the recitation of His book, the study of the Sunnah of the Prophet (saw), and attendance at sessions committed to divine remembrance. Your hearts will then come back to life, just as the dead earth is brought back to life by the downpour of abundant rain upon it. When the heart is constantly engaged in the remembrance of Allah (swt), it comes to be able with intimate experience, knowledge, the affirmation of Divine Unity, absolute trust, and a lack of interest in everything whatsoever apart from Him.’ - Abdul Qadir al-Jilaani (ra)

May Allah make us of those who struggle to love Him and are loved by Him.

Amen. Amen. Amen. THE END
