Lesson 1: How to Read the Ktabs and Introduction of Kalimba.

Take Twinkle Twinkle Little Star for Example

Introduction of Kalimba: Also known as a thumb piano, the Kalimba is believed to have been invented twice in Africa, although when it was exactly first used depends greatly on what you call a Kalimba, as there are over a hundred kinds. African slaves in Brazil were said to have had Kalimbas in the late 1700s but they eventually disappeared. The Kalimba/ mbira is an African musical instrument consisting of a wooden board (often fitted with a resonator) with attached staggered metal tines, played by holding the instrument in the hands and plucking the tines with the thumbs.

Note: A little long thumb fingernail definitely helps to make the sound that comes out of it resonate pretty clear and sweet; and also make your fingers feel no pain for long time playing. ^_^ Monophonic Version Ktabs
