In the bistable relay both the rest and the working condition are stable even when the power supply stops; as a matter of fact the relay has a retention system that keeps in the working position the keeper operating the contacts. Any intervention, attraction or release, is obtained by supplying the corresponding retention coil (A3-A1) or release coil (A3-A2).
1.2 Installation description The installation foresees: a small board placed out of the door made up of a push-button S5 for the audience request and of three signalling lamps: - H1 yellow (wait) - H2 green (go) - H3 red (busy)

DL 2101TD By pushing the push-button S5 the buzzer H7 excites by showing the audience request. We can now have three cases: 1) The person who has to receive can’t do it immediately. In this case he/she pushes the push-button S1 and the “wait” yellow lamps H1 and H4 switch on, for the whole time the button is pushed. 2) The person who has to receive is free. In this case he/she pushes the push-button S2 that excites the retention coil A3-A1 of the bistable relay K1 and the “go” lamps H2 and H5 switch on. These lamps remain switched on until we push the reset push-button S4 that excites the release coil A3-A2 of the bistable relay. 3) The person who has to receive is busy. In this case he/she pushes the push-button S3 that excites the retention coil A3-A1 of the bistable relay K2 and the “busy” lamps H3 and H6 switch on. These lamps remain switched on until we push the reset push-button S4 that excites the release coil A3-A2 of the bistable relay. Note: The installation is supplied at low voltage 24V by means of the step-down transformer T. Supposing that the buzzer is activated only for a short time it is possible to use even the buzzer DL 2101T21 foreseen for a rated voltage of 12V.
1.4 Exercise Carry out the proposed circuit and verify its operation.

DL 2101TD D2 INSTALLATION FOR HOTEL Objectives:
Carry out an installation for hotel, referred to two rooms, one on the right and one on the left of the service room, with calling for waiter, maid or valet.
2.1 Installation description Each room is equipped with a 3 service push-button panel: S1-S2-S3 and S4-S5-S6. Each room, outdoors, has a reset push-button (S7 and S8) with signalling lamps (H7 and H8). On the right and on the left of the service room there are three direction lamps with different colours H1-H2-H3 and H4-H5-H6. The service room is equipped with three signalling lamps with different colours H11-H12-H13.

DL 2101TD By pushing for example the push-button S1 we have the excitation of the attraction coil of the bistable relay K1, that closes its contacts. These ones control the switching on of the direction lamp H1, of the room lamp H7 and of the service room lamp H11 that remain switched on until the called person acts on the reset pushbutton S7. Note: The installation is supplied at low voltage 24V by means of the step-down transformer T. In case the acoustic systems have to be activated just for a limited period of time, it will be possible to use the DL 2101T2020 alarms and the DL 2101T2021 buzzer, both set for a 12V nominal voltage.

DL 2101TD D3 INSTALLATION FOR NURSE CALLING Objectives:
Carry out an installation for hospitals with nurse call and a light signalling. Know the main elements composing the installation.
3.1 Generalities The installation to call a nurse in the patient rooms is featured by a board in each room C and by a board in the nurse room L, interconnected to carry out a call system with light guide and reassuring answer.
The board in the patient room involves a rod push-button that activates, through a bistable relay, a bright signalling on the keyboard of the bed in the room (activated call), outside the room to locate it and of direction in the nurse room (light path) in addition to an acoustic signal of call. These signals are nullified only by the service staff. The board in the nurse room allows to silence the acoustic signal and in the same time to calm the patient with the sending of a bright signal in the room besides warning other staff who is carrying out the required intervention. Only when the nurse is entering the room of the patient he will be able to nullify all the signalling through the push-button outside the door.
Vers c20130528
D3 / 1.6
DL 2101TD 3.2 Patient room DL 2102T61 The patient room has the following components: H1 + H2: Red (call) and green (reassuring ) lamps on the keyboard of the bed; H3: Red lamp outside the door; S0: Rod push-button for the call; S1: Reset push-button outside the door; K: Bistable relay with three normally open contacts.
The position assumed by the contacts in relation to the first excitation of the retention coil A1A3 is also kept when it is finished and it is necessary to stress the release coil A2-A3 to make the contacts return to the rest position.

DL 2101TD 3.3 Nurse board DL 2102T60 The nurse board has the following components: H1H: Red lamp for the call; H2H: Green lamp of received call; H3H: Call buzzer; H4H + K5H: Lamp light path; S0Q: Reassuring push-button; K1M: Bistable relay with two exchange contacts.
The position assumed by the contacts in relation to the first excitation of the retention coil A1A3 is also kept when it is finished and it is necessary to stress the release coil A2-A3 to make the contacts return to the rest position.

DL 2101TD 3.4 Principle diagram Functional diagram and description
At rest every signalling is deactivated. When the patient calls the nurse through the rod push-button S0 the room relay K excites. The closing of the contacts causes: a) switching on of the red lamp H1 set on the keyboard of the bed to calm the patient that the call has been carried out; b) switching on of the red lamp H3 outside the door and of the yellow lamp H4H (or H5H) of direction in the nurse room; c) switching on of the red lamp H1H and of the activation of the buzzer H3H in the nurse room;
D3 / 4.6
Vers c20130528
DL 2101TD The nurse answers to the call by pushing the push-button S0Q that excites the relay K1M in the nurse room. The starting of the exchange constants causes: d) the silencing of the buzzer H3H in the nurse board; e) the switching off of the red lamp H1 and the switching on of the green one H2 in the room to calm the patient and warn him that the nurse is coming, driven by the directional lamp H4H (or H5H) and H3 outside the door; f) switching on of the green lamp H2H to warn the other nurses that the call has already been received. When the nurse arrives at the door of the patient room he pushes the push-button S1 that allows the resetting of both relays and therefore the whole system returns to the starting conditions and it is ready for a new call.
3.5 Exercise Carry out the proposed circuit and verify its operation
3.6 Material panels DL 2101TD AL = Power supply DL 2101ALF T = Transformer DL 2101T13A F1 = Fuses in the power supply DL 2101ALF F2 = Fuses in the transformer DL 2101T13A K1 = 1 Nurse board DL 2101T60 K2 = K3 = 2x Patient room DL 2101T61 NOTE: Since the relays have a memory if when the system is operated for the first time provides random signals, it is necessary to reset the system by pushing the pushbutton S1.
