Module 5, Lesson 3 Webinars That Convert The Automated Webinar Funnel Automated “Live” Phase

Hey you, welcome back to Module 5, The Automated Webinar Funnel. In this lesson we are talking about the Automated “Live” Phase. Obviously I am doing air quote because it is not really live but there are some simulated live features we need to talk about. What You Will Discover ! The Big Picture: The Core Live-Webinar Tweaks When Moving Into Automation ! How To Prepare for an Automated Webinar ! Where your VA Can Offer Support Even When It’s Not Live ! The Pre-Party Experience in an Automated Webinar ! The Q&A Session for an Automated Webinar

This should be a short lesson because we’re not live and you should be able to reap the rewards of not having to do all of the live tasks because it is automated. Even though you are not technically there live, your automated experience is still live to those that register and show up for it. Remember, they are choosing a specific time and date and we are encouraging them to show up live. For them it is live. Most marketers using an automated funnel do not call it a recorded webinar or mention anything about it not being live. We have already talked about the type of marketing you want to do from very aggressive to ultra conservative. You have to find your mix. With that in mind, you do need to decide if you want it to seem live or if you want to take out all mentions of the live experience in the recording. This is where you have to decide what you feel most comfortable with.

The Profitable Webinars Rule This is where things get a little bit murky, you need to find that balance between simulating a live experience and making it known that you are not presenting live that works for you. Lesson 01: 10-Point Preparedness Checklist In Module 3, we went through all of the different checklists that you need to prepare for a live webinar promo. The great thing is, you can ignore most of those for an automated webinar. But I wanted to quickly go through them just so you are aware of what you can ignore and what you still need to be aware of. ! 01: Slide check – At this point you have already edited your slide deck. ! 02: Practice makes perfect – You have practiced your presentation because you likely already have a recording that you want to use for your automated system. ! 03: Mock it up - Spend some time with whatever platform you use for your automated system. Make sure you are really aware of how it works and what it will look like when people show up live and the different bells and whistles you can add. I think it is worth one hour of your time inside the automated platform so you feel really confident about what you can do with it and the benefits and features. ! 04: Get a sidekick – Obviously a sidekick won’t be needed. In a moment we will talk about using a VA for your automated webinars though. There is some support that could be really valuable. ! 05: The DEETS – You have already answered the top ten questions for your product. ! 06: Kick things off – You have already thought of your three to five kick-off questions because your webinar is already recorded with the live Q&A still intact. ! 07: Shout outs – You won’t be giving live shout outs to people that buy on your automated webinar because that is impossible if it is a recorded webinar. ! 08: Get Connected – You don’t need to worry about getting hardwired in. ! 09: Just In Case – You don’t need to have a copy of your presentation because you aren’t doing it live. ! 10: Quiet Zone – It doesn’t matter if you are in a quiet zone because it is already recorded.

As you can see, the 10-Point Preparedness List is pretty much null and void for your automated phase. Lesson 02: How To Turn A VA Into A Stealthy Sidekick There are things a VA can help you with in terms of an automated webinar system. I went back to those four roles that I already taught you in terms of how to use a VA for a live experience. I am just going to highlight the different roles a VA can do for an automated experience. ! Webinar Experience Manager o Tech support on speed dial – if anything goes wrong with your automated system who would your VA call? How do they look into it? Is it EasyWebinar and the support desk there? Do you have a programmer on speed dial that you can contact to look into EasyWebinar or your email service provider if something stops working? Your VA should have that information. o Check support emails daily. I am sure you already have someone doing that. During an automated webinar funnel people will email you. They believe it is live and that is up to you how much they believe. But they are going to treat it as if it was live because they are showing up for a date and time. IF they lost their link, or missed the webinar, they will email you and ask how to get the replay or ask if you will have another webinar. That is when your VA can say, “Yes, you can sign up here,” and send them to the registration page again to sign up. Or send them the replay. Whatever you want to do, you want a plan in place for those people who will email you with challenges in terms of not showing up for their webinar. ! Live Support in the chat box for your registrants. In the lesson right before this I talked about some chat tools that you can use for an automated webinar. We have already gone over this, just know this is something you can do. But, of course, you would then have to have a VA that is ready to answer questions for an automated webinar.

You want to make sure your VA has: ! The link to the workbook. ! If you are going to use a hashtag in the recorded webinar your VA should know what the hashtag is. ! They should have the webinar registration link for your automated webinar. ! Your VA should have the live link if people are trying to get on live and are having a problem. EasyWebinar will have a live link for you to send people to and you want your VA to have that. ! If people are having challenges viewing the slides on your recording and want to call in, check to see if there is a dial-in phone number with you automated platform. I can’t remember if there is one for EasyWebinar. This won’t come up a lot but once in a while it will. ! You want your VA to have links to all resources you mention in your webinar. ! You want to check your “Buy” link pretty regularly, once a week, to be sure it is working.

If your VA has links to all of this during the automated webinar sequence, when there are questions, and people will email in, your VA can easily answer any questions. So you do need to treat your registrants during an automated sequence just as though they are a part of a live sequence. They are just as important and you know your webinar is just as good so, in this respect, let’s treat it as though it is live. ! Your Live Skype Support – You will not need a VA on live Skype support so you can totally ignore that one. ! Q&A Organizer – You have already done the Q&A because it is in the recording for your automated webinar so you don’t need to worry about your VA helping you with the live Q&A because it’s already done.

Lesson 03: The Pre-Party Experience & Other Smart Engagement Techniques Here is what I have to say about the pre-party experience, I don’t believe you should include a pre-party experience on an automated webinar. You can and there are marketers who do. Again, this is on the spectrum of what you feel most comfortable with, but I do not like when people show up for an automated webinar, I have them tell

me where they are calling in from, and then I am really not there. That just doesn’t feel right to me. And it is really a personal preference. You get to decide what you want to do with that. There are other engagement techniques that you can use and you have already built those into your presentation. We talked a lot about that in your webinar creation workshop. I do believe you should have people post in the chat, write yes or no, write things down in their notebook, encourage them to talk to you and take action inside your webinar presentation because they are there live and you want them fully engaged and giving you their full attention. It is important that you do engage with them throughout your entire presentation but, since it’s already recorded, you are likely golden in that area. Lesson 04: How To Create A Sales Generating Q&A Session Again, this is already recorded in the live presentation that you turn into the recording so you should be good to go there. If you haven’t already done a live presentation, remember, the Q&A session is a strategy. There really is a way to do this. So, in Module 3, Lesson 4, you definitely want to make sure you understand how to do a Q&A before you do your live promo. Do The Work – Make It Real Your Action: Lock in a recorded webinar that you are proud of and feel confident about its ability to convert. Once you have that locked in, most of the other pieces fall into place petty quickly. I know we have been talking about a lot of different small tweaks to your pre-webinar onboarding sequence, the registration page, the email service provider linking to your platform, all of that technology is important but it really starts with a high-converting recording of one of your webinars, so you want to get that locked in.

You have some options, of course. You can take something you have done live and use that as the recording with maybe a few edits if you need to, or you can just record from scratch. I have done both. They both work but usually the live will have more energy, and more energy usually equates to selling more. Just keep that in mind. I will see you in the final video of Module 5.
