MGS Basic Installation Requirement
Foundation Pad
1. Foundation Pad should be levelled smoothly 2. Dynamic/operational weight (Wet Weight + 30%) should be considered and approved by your structural engineer including future equipment) 3. Rubber pads is not recommended due to deterioration later on.
Foundation Pad
Ventilation
Fuel System
1. Fuel pipes should be B.I pipe and must have separate and individual line for supply and return pipe line especially when having multiple generator set. 2. Fuel Day Tank maximum height should not be exceed 1.5M from center line of generator set as shown in the drawing section detail. 3. Prior to fuel filling, it should be flash out and clean from welding flux or foreign material. 4. Fuel supply line should be with wye strainer and ball valve for maintenance purpose. 5. Fuel-water should be installed inside fuel day tank containment area.
Exhaust System 1. Exhaust pipe system restriction including muffler must not exceed 600mmH2O. 2. Flexible joint should be free and not carrying the weight of exhaust muffler and exhaust pipe. 3. Internal temperature of exhaust pipe may reach up to 500-600 degree Celsius. Nearby material should be fire retardant. 4. Exhaust muffler and exhaust pipe should have minimum of two (2) inch thick Rockwool insulation with wire mesh prior to aluminum cladding. 5. Provide drain pipe at lowest portion of exhaust piping system. 6. Exhaust tail end should have flapper for vertical end and tapered cut for horizontal end. 7. MHIESP will conduct final inspection on exhaust flexible flange for foreign debris prior to genset start up.
Electrical System 1. Make sure that power cables with the same phase must not be laid out together and per phase power cable ampacity must not be less than rated current of generator set. 2. Generator output should have CB prior to Automatic Transfer Switch or Manual Transfer Switch to load side. CB over current relay should be set as per rated current of generator set. 3. Provide power cable at generator set neutral bus bar going to generator set ground, if required. 4. Provide grounding connection from generator body frame to building grounding system. 5. Provide 220V AC power supply for every generator set battery charger with dedicated CB on the distribution panel. 6. Other device may need separate power supply depend on option accessories included.

Synchronization & Parallel Operation of Generator Set
Essential requirements for parallel operation 1. All Generators must have the same voltage. 2. All Generators must have the same frequency. 3. All Generators must have the same number of phase rotation. 4. All Generators must have the same phase rotation. 5. All Generators and Prime Movers (Engines), must have similar no load, to full load, voltage and frequency characteristics. 6. Generator installation must be provided with Synchronizing equipment. 7. Should have protection relay such as Reverse power, Over-current and etc.

CB “OFF”
1. Lamp : Synchronization point is when the Lamp is Off. 2. Tester : Synchronization point is when the tester reading is at Zero (0) Volts. For a system with 380V:
Reading of meter 380/1.732 = 220V Maximum reading will be at 440V
Synchronizing Equipment Synchronization Equipment is required to monitor the bus frequency and the incoming generator frequency, to ensure that the generator are in synchronism. DG1
