Module 1

– Grad nights (high school) – These are easy and you can do four to five shows per night.

– Volunteer fundraisers, volunteer fire department, civic clubs that do not have funds. - This allows you to get video footage and the video footage will allow you to get other paid bookings.

– IAFE (International Association of Fairs and Expositions) – To book fairs.

– Private parties (fundraisers, sororities, birthday parties) – These are everywhere. Put an ad on the Internet on gigmasters.com for example. People who book private parties know people who also book parties. This can lead to more parties.

– Get a website.

– Use good keywords - Examples: stage hypnotist Orange County California.

– State fairs – You can stay busy January through November going from town to town doing fair shows.

– Cruise ships – You will be at sea for one to two weeks at a time. Do one show per week. They don't pay much, but it's a paid vacation.

– Vegas – Anyone can start their own show in Vegas by using threewalling or four-walling (discussed in this program).

– Producer - Goes to ticket brokers, keeps your fliers on their desk and remembers people's birthday. This person understands networking techniques. A ticket broker takes money off the top. You will earn up to about 40% of purchase price.

– If you have an audience of 200 people per night at $60-$70 per person, that equates to $4,368,000/year at six shows per week yearround!

– Four-walling – The hypnotist gets four walls and the box office and keeps all of the profits. However, the hypnotist pays for everything. Overall, this can be more financially lucrative than receiving a salary. Only huge shows pay the hypnotist a salary, but if you four-wall, you actually make more money.

– Three-walling – You only pay a percentage of advertising.

– Overnightprints.com and Vistaprint.com – For business cards.

– Always carry business cards.

– Facebook fan page – These are free. Start one today.

– Website with video – You must have a website, you can hire someone at Elance.com to create one for about $200. You can host your video free on YouTube.com.

– Find your niche – High school, corporate shows, fairs, cruise ships, bars, comedy clubs.

– Door deal (at a bar) – In a typical scenario, there is a $5 cover charge. You either keep the $5 earned from each patron or they split it with you, because the bar can sell drinks and food to patrons. Your ad can say, for example, “Come early for dinner and stay late for drinks." You can make $300-$2000 per night doing this. You can make backof-room sales also. You pay for ads. Also, radio gives you free interviews sometimes.

– Advertising at colleges and universities – Place an ad in a college or university newspaper. You can also directly contact fraternities and sororities and/or the college or university itself.

– Make a media kit available online (video of your act).

– When you do a prom, you can do it year after year.

– Charge $1500-$2000 for a one-hour show plus hotel and airfare.

– You can four-wall anywhere. For example, a movie theater.

– Comedy clubs –They book through agents. Send your promo materials (DVD and references) to them. Also, send your promotional posters. You can get $1500 for two days or $2500 for four days.
