Service to all is Sanatana Dharma

Sages, great saints and Alwars have been preaching to the world that the Almighty Lord Vishnu, by nature cannot tolerate others in distress and he always comes to their rescue. One can see this quality during various incarnations of the Lord. He does not hesitate to be a human being including a cowherd, a fish or a boar which likes to live in marshes or for that matter a tortoise etc. At the end he also stays in the temples in the form of idols to protect people. Nanjeer, the great Sri Vaishnava Acharya told if Lord Vishnu does not come down to help the beings here then can he be defined as Vishnu. Similarly he went on to say, if someone naturally goes and helps others in distress this is by definition true Sanathana dharma. This nature can be in any being. Taking cue from this concept, the song ‘Vaishva Janatotenekahiye Je peed paraye Jaane re” ƒ{…mƒ\åoÁz ozåz N˛u“Æz \z úyg ú∫ÁÆz \Áåz ∫z@ was composed by Shri Narasimha Mehtha Lord Param Siva coming in the form of a lower caste person also taught the same lesson to Adi Sankara. There were various saints and Acharyas who naturally followed this doctrine of Sanathana Dharma or helping others in distress. One of such saints was Maran Ner Nambi. Maran Ner Nambi, born in lowest class of the society was a devout disciple of the great Vaishnava saint Yamunacharya. Maran NerNambi accepted the painful disease of leprosy afflicted to his Guru so that his Guru could attain salvation…. The disease transfer was by Lord’s will and Saint Yamunacharya got liberation from the world. Peria Nambi, born in the upper most Brahmin family who was the preceptor Guru of Lord Ramanuja and who was also a co-disciple of Maran ner Nambi took care of ailing Maran Ner Nambi by daily serving him food and giving him medical and other attention. At the end he even performed the last rites for Maran NerNambi. Lord Ramanuja followed the foot steps of his Acharya and showed that Sanathana Dharma is to care and respect others. He discovered subservience to other devout people as a path for liberation. He detested causing pain via discrimination and disrespect. As per Lord Ramanuja, Lƒ™“∫“∫åÏ…eyÆ™Áå ƒmÁ|»™á™Á|åÏTw“yo otÏúÁÃåøú onÙÁ∫Ááåüyo: ...meaning Everyone is performing their ordained duties as devotion to please and attain entry into Lord’s divine abode Sri Vaikuntam and hence there is no room for discrimination and disrespect. Lord becomes pleased with this type of devotion and grants entry into Sri vaikunta. The Kaishika purana says how a Brahmin surrendered before a Scheduled tribe devotee and attained salvation. He created conditions in those days where untouchability was in its peak for the Scheduled tribesmen to have darshan of Cheluvanarayana swamy of Melukote for their special affection and service to Lord. It was with these kind of devotees and these kind of inclusive actions that Melukote could become a place for asylum for even Lord Ranganatha of Sri Rangam when Malik Kafur attacked Sri Rangam two hundred and fifty years later. Following the cue, Brahma Naidu the Prime Minister of Palnadu institutionalized sanathana dharma practice of non-discrimination and no disrespect via inducting men from all walks in his army and making them practice care for others. He became successful in the strategy following the basic Sanathana dharma principles. The Munivahana Tiruppan Alwar’s story is also a famous eye opener in this regard to message that we should not discriminate and disrespect devotees. This incident occurred around 2700 years ago. One year ago exactly this time Munivahana Utsavam was first re-enacted in Hyderabad. In order to communicate the message that disrespect and discriminatory behavior towards communities should be shunned upon….. Munivahana Utsavam was subsequently enacted successfully in Guntur and Nellore by temple priests. The year 2019 will be spent in taking Munivahana Utsavam all over India to Universalise the same.

GORGEOUS WITH GARLAND Dr. V.S. Karunakaran B.E.(Mech.), M.A. (Sanskrit), Ph.D In the year 1961, Richie Bernaud’s Australian Cricket team toured India for a Test Series. One of the test matches was arranged at Madras (now Chennai) corporation Cricket Stadium during the Pongal holidays. My cousin (Dr.S.Kannan now) was then studying B.Sc (Chemistry) in Vivekananda College. I was then in the ninth standard in the North Branch of Ramakrishna Mission High School. Sri Kannan ,another elder cousin of ours Sri.L.Jagannathan and me decided to go to the stadium and see the test match. Sri. Kannan had made fine and elaborate arrangements. There was a grand old lady cooking food for Kannan who stayed at Royapetta , as, he, like me, would not take food outside because of our orthodoxy. We were staying at Kodambakkam then . Kannan’s cook prepared a basket full of idly and dosa and a variety of side dishes. We also carried water along with the basket and went to the test match. There was not much enjoyment for us as the Indian wickets were tumbling one after the other. During lunch time, after taking all the dishes, my cousin Jagannathan left saying that the match was boring. Myself and my cousin Kannan were at the stadium, amusing ourselves seeing the various activities happening in the stadium. During tea time, Australians were on the verge of victory. They were just one wicket away. At that time, some enthusiastic fans of Richie Bernaud crossed the barrier, (the security was not that tight those days) went near him, garlanded him and also adorned him with a shawl. Richie Bernaud was then bowling his famous spin. The fans had interrupted just then. Richie Bernaud was so much thrilled with the garland and shawl that he decided to bowl the next ball with the garland and shawl on him. The sight of this scene made me ponder over one thing. “Why are people garlanding the victorious ones?” It also took me to one more incident regarding the garland.

At Vellala street in Egmore, there is a temple for Lord Srinivasa, where my father Ashukavi Sarvabhauma Srinidhi Swamy had delivered discourse on Thiruppavai for 30 days during that year. I also accompanied him on all thirty days and listened to the lecture. On the day of completion, advocate Sri. U.Ve D. Ramaswamy Iyengar, a renowned scholar in Srivaishnava tradition and Melma Narasimhacharya swamy came to the function as chief guests. All the VIPs on the stage were garlanded by the organizers. Sri D. Ramaswamy Iyengar and Melma Narasimhacharya swamy and others took off their garlands immediately. But my father was with the garland on him till the end of the function. Sri Melma Narasimhacharya swamy, who had observed this, remarked during his address, “We are all speaking a lot about Thiruppavai but we don’t follow it strictly. But our Srinidhi swami is not only a great speaker but also an ardent follower of Thiruppavai. Andal refers to her father Periyazhwar as one wearing a garland of lotuses always. He wore the garland not as an ornament for himself but for the Lord who resides within his heart. Our Srinidhi Swamy also wore the garland as an ornament to the Lord residing inside him!” After these two incidents connected with garlands, I started to ponder over the reason why victorious people and Acharyas who give lectures on scriptures are getting garlanded. We also see bride and bridegroom getting garlanded during their wedding. What is the reason? By the grace of the Lord, I understood that victorious people, spiritual speakers and wedding couple all represent Godhood. Krishna says in the Gita <\ÆÁzsuÀ™> I’m the victory of the victorious ones. So the power of the Lord comes out through the victory of the victorious ones. Similarly the Lord dwells in the throat of spiritual speakers, whose speeches extol His greatness. Also, the sastras Say wedding couple should be considered as replica of the Divine couple Goddess Lakshmee and Lord Narayana. Therefore, as a token of respect to the emanation of Godhood from victorious people, wedding couple and spiritual speakers, we use to garland them. I

started following the footsteps of my revered father when I started giving discourse in 1969. As on date of writing this anecdote I have completed fifty years of Service in giving discourses. All along I have followed the practice of not removing the garland till the completion of the discourse. I had to make an exception to this when the organizers in their enthusiasm put garlands of rose. For normally they would have been soaked in water. My attempts to keep them on my shoulders till the end of the discourse had landed me in sore throat and cold. When the Lord took Matsyavatara, He had explained many difficult concepts to Manu (Satyavrata Pandya) and others. While the Lord was giving these lectures, Manu felt that he had failed to garland the Matsya murti, his Acharya, who had explained a lot of difficult concepts to him. But it was the time of deluge!.... And Manu (Satyavrata Pandya ) could not find any flowers to make a garland for the Lord. Manu (Satyavrata Pandya ) felt very bad that he could not garland his Acharya despite his having ruled the country from Madurai, Jasmine from Madurai was a special one. Even today the Madurai Malli (Jasmine) is charming. Sensing the feeling of His devotee, the Lord Himself showed up to him, the Vaijayanthee Vanamaalaa – a garland made of five elements and five tanmatras – which is one of the exclusive hallmarks of the Supreme Lord on his shoulders at any stage of His to make him comfortable. That is why Veda Vyasa who had the power to see the Matsyavatara in his vision included in his Vishnu Sahasranama the name Sragvee in the group of names describing the Matsya Avatara of the Lord. Sragvee. Srak means garland. Sragvee means the one always wearing a garland! Suka Brahmam extended this concept in Srimad Bhagavatam.

When the Gopis were dancing with Krishna, observing their ahankara the Lord suddenly disappeared from the scene to purify them Scorched by the pangs of separation from Krishna, as the Gopis searched for the Lord singing His glories, the Lord appeared before them. While describing this scene, Suka Brahmam says:

As Krishna taught them the secret doctrine of the relationship between the individual souls and the Supreme Lord and also gave them a prelude to the joy they were going to get at the divine world of Vaikuntha, Krishna was the Acharya for them. The Gopis might not in their tension be ready with a garland. Lord Krishna did not want them also to be in grief as Manu (Satyavrata Pandya ) and appeared before them with the garland as He did for Manu (Satyavrata Pandya ) Nirukti summarizes this as:

AHOBILAM AND AHOBILA MUTT - 76 – M.V. SOUNDARARAJAN I would like to remind VAK Readers about my preamble to the current series 2 months ago where I pointed out that out of all the four Judgements Justice Indu Malhotra’s judgement stands out as a custodian of Dharma. The rest of the Learned Judges wrote a demonic judgement with no mind to protect Sanathana Dharma. In writing their judgements these Learned Judges did not seem to have exercised their wisdom and thought that they can create a new Dharma book overwriting the existing one. What they have not understood is that the Almighty is not subservient to them and he does not have to follow their judgement in blessing the devotees. Devotees have to still follow the tenets of the religion or dharma sashtra to please the Lord and not the Supreme Court judgements. A similar situation happened long long ago in the ancient times when a powerful demon king not only wanted to change the Dharma shastras to his favour but also made people practice it and also wanted himself to be anointed as the Lord of the Lords and become the Almightly himself. It is the story about Hiranyakashipu and Prahlada He tortured the whole world and had to be ultimately corrected by Lord of the Lords by taking the form of Narasimha. The whole story of Hiranyakashipu and Prahlada is about how materialistic people or Rajasa and Thaamasa character people are torturing the Sattvic spiritual beings and ultimately the consequence they face. Sattvic and devotional environment is very essential to protect Dharma in this whole country or for that matter any world. If there is Sattvic and devotional environment and attitude to not harm or cause pain to others, the Lord himself will come to protect such devotees and vanquish the hatred coming from Raajasa and Thaamasic people. Lets learn this lesson from the story of how Lord protected Prahlada and vanquished Hiranyakashipu.

THE MATTER OF AHOBILA NARASIMHA VEDANTA DEEPIKAI, SAMBUDAM-4 (1914-1915) Story so far… Prahlada was having ecstatic love and devotion for Lord. He was saved right from the beginning even he was in the womb of his mother Kayadhu by Devarishi Narada’s intervention. He was sent to Gurukul to learn the material items and learn things in praise of his father which did not attract him at all. His father Hiranyakashipu was interested in his son getting material education but Prahlada was so devoted to the Lord Narayana that nothing but Lord’s thoughts could enter his mind which annoyed Hiranyakashipu. (contd..) Time passed. The child, out of compassion towards his teachers learnt what they taught. The teachers were enthused to take the child and present before King Hiranyakashipu. Upon obtaining King’s permission they took Prahlada to the palace. Mother Kayadhu hugged Prahlada, gave him a bath and dressed him up for the royal appearance. The teachers

took Prahlada to the King who was seated on his throne. Prahlada touched the feet of his father and stood with humility. The king blessed the child and hugged him tightly and became elated. Later he made Prahlada sit on his lap and asked: “Prahlada! My son! Please recite any sloka with good meanings that you have learnt and remembered” Prahlada with complete confidence and immense courage uttered the following:

Among all studies of shastras the study of how to do the above nine types of Bhakti to Lord Vishnu which I learnt is considered by me as the best” Here, one needs to appreciate the courage and directness of the child Prahlada who did not choose to be in line with his father and tell him what he liked to listen. He told him what he needed to realize thinking that his father will benefit from that and shun the path of enemity with the Almighty which is a foolishness. His realization is that the Almighty, who has created the whole universe including himself and his father needs to be worshipped for their wellbeing rather than questioning him and having enemity with him. He could not understand the ignorance of his father and wanted to keep on reminding him of what is good that needs to be done by him. As a responsible son he felt it as his duty. Prahlada was a conscious and well mannered child who really wanted good for his father to happen. Hiranyakashipu was quite angry listening to Prahlada. He asked him: “This knowledge cannot have come from Gurukula.! Tell me who taught you this!!”

They will not want to take to the service of ardent devotees of Lord Vishnu. It is the dust on the feet of such devotees that can purify them and liberate them from the never ending materialism and birth-death cycles. But Lo! They will not even go near them as long as they can” Prahlada uttered the above with anguish that his father is not coming closer to the reality and pledge devotion to the almighty and choose a righteous path. Prahlada was a devotee and through his devotion he could see the future incarnations of Lord like Trivikrama, Krishna etc. and was trying to educate his father with good intentions. Like the millions of atheists and materialists

we see everywhere today who can be aptly termed as Hiranyakashipus, meaning those people who love to be always entangled by gold,(meaning acquiring wealth) Hiranyakashipu who personified them could not bear the words of his son. Great darkness engulfed the mind of the father. He became blind and he was fully red with rage. He pushed Prahlada down from his lap. The child fell on the ground from the height of the throne. He said, “Kill this bad soul! He should be taken out immediately and killed. He is devoted to Vishnu the killer of his father’s brother Hiranyaksha. For this reason itself he is fit to be killed. I think him as my enemy who killed my brother. He has at the age of five left his father and mother and has decided to be with Vishnu. If others children try to do favour to us we can taken them in our fold. While on the other hand if our own children try to do harm to us they need to be destroyed like how we operate and out the poisonous part of the body to protect the rest of the body. He needs to be killed immediately” ordered Hiranyakashipu. At these words thousands of demons came running towards Prahlada with swords in their hands to kill him. (to be continued)

He was a seer who brought to light the concept of the whole universe as one family : Vasudhaiva kutumbakam and brought to light the right understanding and interpretation of Vedas and established equal chance for all living beings to attain salvation at the end of the current birth by surrendering before the Lord – Saranagathi. In order to putforth his understanding Lord Ramanuja had to first understand what his predecessor Acharyas have done to explain the Vedas. On this account he visited atleast twice to Sharada Peetham of Kashmir which was the seat of Goddess Saraswathi and a huge store house of learning known as Shree Bhandaram. VAK is attempting to bring the interesting items of this effort of Lord Ramanuja to its readers. Story so far: Obtaining the ordainment of Lord Varadaraja of Kanchi, Lord Ramanuja and Kuresa set out to study Boudhayana Vrutti Grantha at Sharada peetham in Kashmir. They had taken a fast route and reached Kashmir in just about 6 months time from Kanchi travelling almost everyday. They reached Chakradhara theertham at the outskirts of Kashmir and had been well received by a learned scholar Keshavacharya who till recently served as the Prime Minister of the King. When they had the darshan of Lord Chakradhara there, Kshitiraja arrived in the temple and was camping. Keshavacharya was planning to take his help to help Lord Ramanuja. He was trying to understand how Boudhayana vrutti Grantha is important and missed the attention of the great saint Yamunacharya. A plausible explanation provided to this seemed to be due to foreign invasions and unrest. While the discussions were happening a stealth person with royal looks visited the place, escaped and was captured. Next early morning when the three people went to Chakradhara theertha for morning rituals they met the royal family member Kshitiraja who was one of the Satraps and cousin of King Ananthaditya who agreed to learn about their mission and help. Lord Ramanuja with the help of Keshavacharya could have a conversation with King Kshitiraja about his mission. The King who was already carried away by the Radiance of the Great Saint bowed before him and requested became his admirer. He promised all help to Lord Ramanuja and went to preside the make shift Durbar in the camp.…

The throne was majestic with the face of the lion at the centre of the back rest and there were two arm rests that were also having lion heads. There were silk curtains all over the mandapa and the mandapa was lit with torches. It was interesting to note that each of the torches were kept behind a large ruby stone enhancing the room with light of various colours and making the darbar hall look beautiful. There was a large Kashmir carpet convering the floor and many civilians were seated on the carpet.

CSL Narasimhan On both sides of the Durbar throne there were golden chairs placed for various heads of the villages and groups of villages. Next to the throne was a golden chair with deer skin on it adorned for the prime minister representative of the kingdom. There were young and beautiful ladies looking high category and aristocratic who were serving the king with their fan and chamara service. The entire hall was having a major silk fan sprinkled with fragrance water of champaka, kasthuri and saffron and were pulled by able bodied people to provide air to the seated gentlemen. “Maha Rajadhi Raja Raja Gambheera, Veera Vikrama Kesari, Shatru Bhayankara, Damaaru senaa mardaka, Lohara Samrajya sevaka, Chakravarthi Samrat Anantaditya priya Bhraatru parimaana Sri Sri Sri Veera Kshitiraja Maharaja Vijayam Karothi, Paraag Paraag Bahu Paraag” There were huge voices of the sentries at various locations with people standing on both sides. The general public were shouting “Jai Kshitiraja, Jai Jai Kshitiraja”. Kshitiraaja along with his queen Taramathi was walking with royal drem well decked with royal ornaments studded with diamond, pearls and rubies with his sword on left side of the dress with cover made of gold and studded with diamonds with royal emblem of Lohara dynasty and Loharakota kingdom on it. He majestically ascended the throne and became seated along with his beautiful queen by his side on the same throne. He then signaled the rest of the courtiers to be seated. Behind him walked Keshavacharya and Padmanabhavara the commander of the temple force and they occupied special chairs reserved for them. He called his minister Balarama and said to him, “Oh! Revered minister of Loharakota, what are the matters of the state here today which I can deal with, with the express powers bestowed by my beloved emperor Anantaditya deva today?” Balarama, the Minister for Kshitiraja stood up from the chair and said, “Your majesty, with your permission and also the blessings of the erstwhile Pradhan Mantri of Lohara empire and well wisher Sri Keshavacharya, I begin herewith the proceedings. We have a very peculiar case today. A well dressed, royal looking thief has been caught today spying around Chakradhara temple. He has beard and does not have a moustache. He is wearing red Tilak and is also having a big Jata

on the head. We don’t know from where he has come. He is speaking in some unknown language which does not seem to be even coming from Paarasi or Arabia. He does answer to our questions but we could not find what they mean. He is blabbering a few words like ‘Karikakrukatha kaChampaakakaPadanata kaChampaka, kaHarakaChampaka kahara kahara kaChampaka, kahari kakesari champaka..’. He was last seen hearing with keenness from outside the room of the new divine guests when Keshavacharya was speaking to them. When asked about it he laughs heavily and smiles and says ‘Kavaikashnkava kanama’. He was caught by the temple soldiers in the nearby temple forest on the banks of Vitastha river as he was following the saintly ones clandestinely.” The king looked with curiousity. He thought for some time and said to the Minister, please produce him before me. Soon four well built soldiers were almost dragging the tall, well built dark complexioned youth who had royal looks. He was appearing exactly as described by the Minister and he was wearing large red jade earrings with diamond studs which indicates that he is from a well to do family. “Who are you and why are you loitering here in the temple complex clandestinely? What are you trying to say and why do you have to follow the divine ones?” asked the king He bowed before the king in a strange way by bending and touching the ground fully with his hands. He then stood erect and said: “‘Karikakrukatha kaChampaaka-kaPadanata kaChampaka, kaHarakaChampaka kahara kahara kaChampaka, kaharikakesarichampaka..’ He then laughed heavily. The King was put in silence for some time. He thought for a while. ‘I heard this voice somewhere… but where?’ thought the king. He then asked him to repeat what he said. “‘Karikakrukatha kaChampaaka-kaPadanata kaChampaka, kaHarakaChampaka kahara kahara kaChampaka, kaharikakesarichampaka..’ “Your voice seems familiar. Are you known to me?” enquired the king. “No my Lord. I am the servant of the one who is your friend and I would like to talk to you in person” At this word, the man freed up himself with force and stood freed. The soldiers were trying to recapture him. The king signaled to stay away and he stood up from the throne and walked to the bearded one.

The man also walked closer to the king and he whispered “I am Bimba, the Mahadwaara paala of the emperor. All the time my task is to keep protecting all the major entry points to the empire. “Your majesty! Bimba bowed before the king” “Release him at once. He is our great loyalist” ordered the King. Bimba was released. The king whispered to Bimba “Without you, we would not have saved our kingdom from the attackers. You were the one who were providing us with enemy movements and helped us build this strong empire.” He took a pearl necklace from his neck and adored Bimba. “what is this language you are speaking Bimba. What is the message you wanted to convey?” asked the King. “it is a secret and should be known only to your majesty and your minister”. Said Bimba “Alright, let us meet in person in my tent outside after the durbar. I still have some items to enquire. By the way why were you caught like this and why were you following the Vaishnava Saints” enquired the king. Bimba came closer to the king and whispered “I came to meet Sri Keshavacharya. I came in disguise in search of him. The disguise is because no one in the court of the emperor should know I came for him and I am talking to him” He then said loudly “I came in urgency to meet you. At that time I came across the saintly ones and was listening to their interesting conversations outside. When I was followed I ran and hid outside and when the saintly ones were walking and talking in the night I overheard them from the bushes. The subject they were talking was of utmost interest to me and when I got engrossed I was not alert. The soldiers found me and was caught. I could have shown my identity but decided against as I wanted to surprise you with a few items” “Bimba, what is the language you are speaking?” enquired the king. Bimba whispered “it is Ka Bhaasha” The king slowly deciphered the message which Bimba was trying to communicate and became serious. He said lets talk after the durbar. We need to meet the emperor at once. (to be continued...)

I lost money even in this business. Meanwhile, I melted the golden Yagnopaveetam of the Lord and made a neclace for my wife. After she started wearing it she used to complain about a feeling of some thing writhing on her neck. On the 5th day she got up suddenly from her sleep put her hands on her neck and started shouting, "Snake! Snake". Immediately, I asked her to remove the necklace and kept it safely in the Almirah. I started realizing that I had committed an unpardonable sin. All the cows, which were in my farm died without any calves. I felt that my sin had killed all the cows. During that time, my wife delivered a baby. The baby had deformities and had been born without proper right hand and left leg. Even the right hand had all the fingers joined with each other. I decided to kill the child unable to imagine the difficulties it would face in future. However my brothe-in-law prevented me from doing so. "How could you kill such a handsome kid?" he asked. He even threatened me that I would be beaten if I took the extreme step. I spent money in having the child operated to separate the fingers but I came to know when I was in the jail that even her other leg had become paralyzed. I do not know the value of the ornaments I

stole. Whenever I needed money I used to melt a part of them and utilize. Sometimes, I used to get Rs.50/- and sometimes only Rs.10/-. In total I got only Rs.50,000/-. I came to know from the inspector that the value of the gold I stole would be Rs.6,00,000/-. I felt peace of mind only when I handed over whatever was remaining. Recently, my wife had delivered another child and the baby girl is beautiful without any deformities. Do you need anything more to tell that the Lord is very much forgiving? Raghu completed the reading of the interview and paused. "Thatha, you were feeling bad that the Lord permits every one to squander his wealth. But you see this incident is good enough for the people to understand that stealing from Temples his property has lots of ill effects" Karthik said. I patted him on his back and looked at him with appreciation. "What a surprise? This kid is speaking the Philosophy that is not even understood by highly learned people. Karthik seems to have learnt many things from you, Parandhamaiah." Raghu continued his appreciation. "Before you leave for Hyderabad, you should come for food at my place." I bade my friend good bye. !

I AM A PROUD MOTHER

QÆ~°∞_» „Ѩ™ê^Œ =∞Ç≤Ï=∞....

I am married for 7 years. I am issueless. I came with my relatives to Chilkur Balaji temple on 25th March 2018. The Archaka was announcing in the mike that they would be distributing Garuda Prasadam for the issueless women on 27th March. I postponed my return ticket to Bangalore. I took the Garuda Prasadam... I conceived immediately. I am now a proud mother of a two month old boy. Balaji has showed His Grace...

"THE LORD AT YOUR CALL" Vol. - II We at VAK are blessed to bring out the second volume in the series of books on Anecdotes on Vishnu Sahasranama authored by Sri V S Karunakaran Swamy. Sri V S Karunakaran Swamy started this mammoth never before project of explaining the significance of the 1000 names. Since the English meaning of this hymn is given in this work, many in this country and those living abroad, will welcome it. Every name is a mantra by itself, some with two and some ranging up to eight words. The hymn is an antidote for all ills. As the author mentioned the benefits which will accrue by reciting the various name of Vishnu, it has been practically experienced by Devotees at Chilkur Balaji temple who are the regular readers of VAK in which these Anecdotes have been serialised. There is immortal ecstasy that can be experienced by chanting these names individually. The second Volume has been released on 6th September 2017, as a part of the Saptatipoorthi celebrations of the Author Sri V S Karunakaran. You can find the devotees chanting these names endlessly at the Balaji Temple Chilkur. The benefit of chanting individual names for particular needs to be granted by Almighty is being practiced and is yielding expected results. Books available at : Manager 'VAK', 2-2-647/77/D, Srinivasanagar Colony, Bagh Amberpet, Hyderabad-500 013. Price : Rs.500/- (Exclusive of postage)
