You see, swimming is not my forte, but I actually want to learn this skill for my life. Question 2. When do you plan to start that? To be completely honest with you, I guess I will enroll the course next month. Frankly speaking, I am a procrastinator, and I often do something spontaneously. So , I hope that I will stay the course  Các anh em đi thi là thỉnh thoảng cứ dùng cụm “em nói thật với thầy là” thì ngoài “to be honest” thì còn cụm “siêu thật lòng nữa là” “To be completely honest with you”  Frankly speaking: nói thẳng luôn nha  Procrastinator: đứa siêu lầy  Do everything spontaneously: cứ hứng lên làm làm chứ không có chủ định lâu dài  Stay the course: kiên trì cho hết khoá học (anh em nhớ stay the course with me nhé) Question 3. How do you intend to achieve that? I would say that there a couple of things that I need to achieve the plan. I will have a to-do list to manage time well/properly, then I will find someone who can hold me accountable, a friend, for example.  A to-do list là danh sách việc cần làm  Manage time properly là cụm từ siêu tự nhiên để nói: Quản lí thời gian tốt  Hold someone accountable: là canh chừng, nhắc nhở, quản thúc

PART 2 – Thu Âm Phần Sau An Important Decision (có thể đá sang đề Letters/ Changes) What: Well, I’m going to tell you about the most important decision that I made in my life, it’s not about owning a car or buying a house, but studying abroad. When:The story I’ll tell you, I guess, has a great impact on my career later. I remember, after my graduation, I had to face with a dilemma of whether I should go to work immediately or get a chance to study overseas. At that time, I graduated with distinction, so I received a good offer from a reputable company with handsome salary. How: However, I always had set my heart(mong muốn) on studying abroad so I couldn’t sleep a wink (không ngủ được) for a long time to take everything into consideration carefully. I went around and turned to my parents for advice before making the final decision.You know, my parents thought that it is impossible to pay top dollar for the pricey school fee and the cost of living in Australia where the cost of everything is way higher than that in Vietnam. My friends, they advised me not to study oversea since I already had such a good offer for a decent job. How: Honestly, their words seem reasonable and they really made me confused. However, as I told you, my intention to study abroad was not a spontaneous decision, I nourished my dream when I was a high school student and I worked hard for the IELTS as well as relevant papers for school admission. Without doubt, I could have an access to advanced education system to enrich my knowledge and sharpen my skills. Why:I think that it is amazing to be exposed to new culture and people to broaden my horizons. These are the reasons why I hold on my dream as I believe that studying abroad would open up more job opportunities for me in the future and I will be more mature and confident. Vâng, tôi cho rằng nó thực sự phụ thuộc vào lời khuyên và về người già có kinh nghiệm như thế nào. Nhưng hầu hết thời gian, người già đã sống và trải qua nhiều sự kiện hơn những người trẻ tuổi. Nếu hoàn cảnh tương tự, một người già chắc chắn có thể đưa ra lời khuyên tuyệt vời để giúp những người trẻ tuổi tránh khỏi những rắc rối. Nhưng vì thế hệ khác nhau có các vấn đề đặc biệt, tôi chắc chắn rằng một số lời khuyên có thể không hiệu quả. Well I suppose that it really depends on what the advice is about and how experienced that old person is. But most of the time, old people have lived and experienced more events than youngsters. If the circumstances are similar, an old person can certainly give excellent advice to help young people advoid troubles. But since different generation has distinctive set of problems, I am sure that some advice may not work properly Question 2. Can old people teach their grandchildren? Why? Chắc chắn, người già/ lớn tuổi có thể dạy cháu cách sống một cách có ý nghĩa, giống như những gì ông tôi làm với tôi, chia sẻ kinh nghiệm, dạy con cách cư xử đúng mực etc. Nhưng tất nhiên nó có thể không hiệu quả vì khoảng cách tuổi tác và sự khác biệt rất lớn giữa các thế hệ. Tôi đang nói về một sự khác biệt khoảng 50 năm. Vì vậy, nhiều bài học có thể bị lỗi thời hoặc không liên quan đến người trẻ/ con cháu/ Certainly, the seniors can teach grandchildren how to live their life meaningfully, just like what my uncle does to me, share experience, teach children how to behave in a good manner ecetera… But of course it may not be effective because of the age gap and huge difference between generations. We are talking about a difference of around 50 years. So many of the lessons may be outdated or irrelevant to the children.
