KINGS’ SELECTION TRANSPO In middle August 2018 Khoa Nguyen, my best magic trainee, suggested me an idea in which a transposition occurs between four kings and two selections. The idea, immediately, interested me; and after several days I turned it a visual trick with two phases under the name of Kings’ Selection Transpo. TAGS    SLEIGHTS           EFFECT The magician openly removes four kings, and he has the spectator select two cards which are inserted into the four kings. The magician then performs a mental movement as if he moves and drops each selection on top of the deck. After a snap, he table spreads the faced up deck and reveals two faced down cards whick are two selections; and there remains four kings on the table. The magician continues to gather the four Kings and the two selections, he then removes the two seletions and burries them face down in the faced up deck. After other snap, he spreads the deck face up onto the table and there are four faced down cards in the faced up spread. The faced down cards are the four Kings and the tabled packet consits of two selections. WORKING

Openly run through the deck and out-jog four Kings. Turn the deck face down and pivot the Kings, at the same time making a break below the top card of the deck. Place the Kings face up on top and out-jog them for half their length, performing the variation of Five Cent Switch to set the last two Kings face up under the top card of the decka and the first two Kings face up on top. Perform double lift the top two face up cards as four and table them face down.

Rise the deck so that the face cards face to the spectator and have her select two cards for the two selections, placing them face down onto the table. Square the deck, holding it face up in left-hand dealing position. Buckle the faced up bottom card, performing the Double Under cut to bring the bottom card to top of the deck. Place the deck onto the two tabled selections, picking up all the deck, flipping it in left-hand dealing position. Lift all four top faced up card as two in right-hand Biddle Grip, peeling off and flipping the first selection face down onto the deck, flipping the tripple card onto the deck. Deal the top two cards onto the tabled Kings. Turn the deck over face up in left-hand dealing position, performing Spread Half Pass two bottom cards. Perform the Swing Cut but keep the bottom card, performing another Swing Cut. The two Sing Cuts buried the two selections in the deck. Table the deck face up.

Pick up the tabled packet in left-hand dealing position, performing the Four-as-Six Count then the Tenkai Vanish to pretent to the spectator that you are performing a mental transfering the top card to the deck. Next perform the Ghost Count then the Tenkai Vanish. Spread the in-hand packet to reveal four remaining cards.

Spread the faced up deck onto the table to show two faced down cards in the spread, removing the faced down cards from the spread and flipping them face up to reveal the two selections. Next turn over the table packet to reveal the four Kings. Square the spread, turning it face down in left-hand dealing position. Burry the two selection into the deck, placing the deck face down onto the table. Take the tabled King packet face up in left-hand dealing position, secretly reverse the buttom King face down, place the packet on top of the deck.

Take the deck face down in left-hand dealing position, lifting the three faced up Kings as four at the natural break between the faced up cards and the faced down deck, table the deck. Perform the Stuart Gordon Turnover and the Elmsley Count to show four cards, placing them onto the table. Pick up the deck and hold it face down in right-hand Biddle Grip, peforming the One Handed Top Palm. Place the deck into your left hand. Twist your right hand palm up under

the left hand to hide the palmed card from the spectator’s view and begin performing the Hand-to-Hand Spread. Have the spectator select two cards, placing them face down in one row onto the table, and at the same time insert the palmed card into the deck, squaring the deck, placing it face up onto the table.

Pick up the tabled King pile in right-hand Biddle Grip. Load either selections on the bottom of the packet, twisting your right hand palm up to show the first selection, twsiting the palm down. Peel of the top card into your left hand, pealing off the next card onto the left hand card and retaining a break below it. Perform the Biddle Move as you peel of the next card onto the left hand card. Peel off the next card and retain a break below it, dropping the last card onto the left hand cards. Perform Stuart Gordon Double Turnover to show the first selection, flipping the double face down onto the left hand card. Have the spectator cut off the deck, dropping the top card of the packet onto the cut cards and completing the cut.

Load the other selection on the bottom of the packet, twisting you right hand palm up to show the second selection, twsitin the palm down. Make a thubm break above the bottom card. Peel off the top card into your left hand, peeling off the double card above the break onto the left hand card retaining another break below the double. Perform the Biddle Move as you peel off the right hand single card retaining a break below the it. Peel off the next two cards onto the left hand cards. Tripple lift cards above the break and perform Stuart Gordon Turnover to show the second selection, flipping the tripple face down onto the left hand card. Have the spectator cut off the deck, dropping the two top cards of the packet as one onto the cut cards and completing the cut.

Shuffle the deck in order to separate the double card in the deck. Spread the deck face up onto the table to show four faced down cards. Turn over the packet to reveal the two selections. Remove the four faced down cards and flip them to reveal the four Kings. 

ZARRO SANDWICH Zarro Sandwich is a clever idea of Khoa Nguyen, in which the Zarro Shuffle is used to handle the sandwich effect to occur in the center of the deck without using any other sleights. For his unexperienced construction in performing his idea, I have helped him on handling method and reducing some unwanted steps. I cannot remember when the idea was release; but the latest improvement for it to be present in my book is May 26, 2019. TAGS    SLEIGHTS    EFFECT The magician have any spectator select and remember any card then bury her selection into the deck. The magician next removes two Joker and have the spectator insert the two Joker into two different postitions of the deck; and he then performs the Riffle Shuffle the deck and spread the deck face down onto the table. The sepectator will see there are two faced up jokers with a faced down card between them, and the magician reveal the faced down card is the select. WORKING

Unbox the cards and hand it to any spectator for giving it some fair cuts and shuffles. Take the deck from the spectator and spread it from left to right in your hands, and have any the spectator select and remember any card then replace it. Perform the Hofzinser’s Spread Cull to control the selection to the bottom of the deck. Perform fair the Overhand Shuffle to bring the selection from the bottom to top of the deck. You might perform the Hallo Cut before the Overhand Shuffle but I do not recommend this because you do not want the spectator to believe that the deck is well-mixed here.

Rise the card face toward you, and run through the cards to remove two Jokers. Hand the spectator the two Joker for holding them face up in her hand. You might peferom the Riffle Shuffle keeping the selection in its position. I recommend this step for making the spectator believe that the cards are well-mixed.

Spread the faced down deck from left to right in your hands and have the spectator insert either Joker face up into the spread. Close the spread and make a break above the faced up Joker; hold the deck in left-hand dealing position. Cover the deck by your right hand readily for holding it in Biddle Grip. Place your right fingers on the outer end of the deck and your right thumb on the inner end at the break position. Drop the bottom card of the upper portion onto the faced up Joker then cut the deck at the new break position. A noted be made here: You perform this step as if you are cutting the deck into two portions at a random position in the middle of the deck. Perform the Riffle Shuffle so that the top card of the upper portion runs into the top two cards of the lower portion. This step sets up the top three cards of the deck as follows: the faced down X card (dropped card), the faced down selection, and the faced up Joker. Continue to spread the faced down deck from left to right in your hands, but avoid exposing the faced up Joker. Have the spectator insert the other Joker face up into the spread. On closing the spread, you perferom the Hofzinser’s Spread Cull to control the Joker to the bottom of the deck.

Cut the deck into two portion and perform the Zarro Shuffle to mix the deck so that the lower portion run into the top cards and the other cards of the upper portion. After the Zarro Shuffle, you have the deck with the top card of the upper portion, the lower portion, the ramemaining cards of the upper portion. Take the deck and spread it face down onto the table to show the two faced up Joker with a faced down card between them.

Remove the faced down card and turn it up to reavel the spectator’s selection. 
