Body Work the whole body (legs, torso, arms and ears) using light brown yarn and a 2.0 hook.
Legs R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6) R2-R12: 6 sc (6) Make 2. For the first leg: make a slip stitch and cut the yarn (leave a long tail in case some sewing should be needed). Don’t cut the yarn after making the second leg instead, you’ll keep on working from there to join the legs
Torso First, we join the legs R13: 3 sc in 2nd leg, chain 2, 6 sc in 1st leg, 2 sc in back side of the chain, 3 sc in 2nd leg (16) R14: 16 sc (16) Now we’re enlarging to create the booty! R15: 2 sc, (inc, 2 sc) x 2, 8 sc (18) R16-R17: 18 sc (18) R18: 2 sc, (dec, 2 sc) x 2, 8 sc (16) Booty finished :) R19: 16 sc (16) R20: (6 sc, dec) x 2 (14) R21: (5 sc, dec) x 2 (12) R22: (4 sc, dec) x2 (10) R23: (3 sc, dec) x 2 (8) R24: (2 sc, dec) x 2 (6)

At this point, your stitch marker is probably somewhere behind the doll’s back (use the booty as a reference to understand which is the front and which is the back). You must now make enough stitches to position the stitch marker right on the left side of the doll before moving on with the next round. If you’re indeed on the back, this operation should not increase the number of rounds you count on the face of the doll. However, if you were somewhere just past the left shoulder, you are indeed adding one round to the face. It won’t impact a lot the look of the doll, you just have to keep in mind to place the eyes one round higher than indicated :) Why are we making this? Because we’re about to give an asymmetrical shape to the head to make the face… if you don't place the stitch marker correctly, you risk to end up with a doll facing left, right, or, even worse, with the head completely twisted around! If you’re already close to the left shoulder, you can simply continue with R30. [Just as an indication, I made 7 additional sc and placed the stitch marker on the last stitch before moving on with the next round] R30: (1 sc, inc) x 9, 18 sc (45) R31-R32: 45 sc (45) R33: (2 sc, dec) x 7, 17 sc (38) R34-R38: 38 sc (38) R39: (17 sc, dec) x 2 (36) Stop and place the safety eyes between round 34 and round 35 8 stitches apart. Feel free to modify the position to where you feel suits at best the personality of your doll. I personally think that placing the eyes very low and quite apart gives a sweeter look :) You can even place them lower! If you’d like to make an embroidery for the eyes, that’s the best moment to do it! R40: (4 sc, dec) x 6 (30) R41: (3 sc, dec) x 6 (24) Keep stuffing while you close the head! R42: (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18) R43: (1 sc, dec) x 6 (12) R44: 6 dec (6) Cut the yarn leaving a long tail for sewing. Using a tapestry needle, pass the tail through all the loops of the last round, and pull. Make a knot and hide the yarn inside the doll’s body.

Arms Make two R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6) R2-R11: 5 sc (6) At the end of each arm, cut the yarn leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew the arms so that the upper part corresponds to round 23 of the body (right below the neck).
Top Work with orange yarn and 2.5 hook. The top is worked in rows and the sew on the back Row1: chain 13 (12) Row2-Row3: 12 sc (12) You can make some embroideries in bordeaux and cream color on the top
Hula skirt Work with hook 2.5 and brown-grey very thin yarn. We’ll start the skirt in rows but we’re then going to join it and work in rounds Row1: Chain 19 (18) Row2-Row4: 18 sc (18) Join the extremities and start working in rounds R5: 18 sc (18) R6: (8 sc, inc) x 2 (20) R7: (9 sc, inc) x 2 (22) R8: 22 sc (22) R9: (10 sc, inc) x 2 (24) R10-R11: 24 sc (24) You can add some fringes of the same color at the end of the skirt.
Pareo Work with thin cream color yarn and 2.5 hook. The pareo is work in rows. Row1: chain 29 (28) Row2: 28 sc (28) Row3: chain2, (skip1, double-crochet) x 14 (14) Row4: 14 sc (14)

Orange stripe Work with orange yarn and 2.5 hook. First, chain 26. Go back to the beginning of the chain with 25 slip stitches. From here, chain 9, go back to the beginning of the chain with 8 slip stitches. From here, chain 6, go back to the beginning of the chain with 5 slip stitches.
Dress the doll Roll the top so that the upper part touches the armpits. Sew it on the back. Put on the hula skirt, and sew it on the back. Put the pareo on top of the hula skirt. The larger part stays at the bottom, and you have to sew it a bit crooked. Put the orange stripe on top of the pareo by joining the end and beginning of the first chain.
Hair Work with brown yarn and 3.5 hook. First chain 10. You’re going to create one hair in each loop of this chain. Then, you’ll get to sew the hairs one by one to the head (feeling lucky, eh?) You should make (in this order): Each hair is: Chain 26, go back with: 1sc, (2sc in same loop, 2sc) x 5, 9sc Pull a piece of yarn through all the loops of the main chain, pull and make a knot. This part is the lower layer of the hair. You’re going to sew it on top of the head and then on the sides. There’s a second part of the hair, to be fixed to the forehead. For this second part, start with a chain 4. In each of the loops of the chain 4 make a hair of: chain 20, go back with 19 sc Then sew the main chain to the hairline on the forehead, and the rest of the hairs on the back.
