4. A car can travel 8.7 kilometres on 1 litre of diesel. How far will the car travel with 35 litres? 5. Mrs Gray buys 9 mangos for £5.76. How much does each mango cost?
6. A length of steel bar is cut into 12 equal pieces. If each piece measures 7.85cm, what was the original length of the steel bar? 7. £70 is shared equally between 8 children. How much do they each receive? 8. Six friends go on a trip to Scotland. The total cost of their trip is £418.50. If they share the cost equally, how much do they each pay? 9. A wooden bar is cut into two smaller lengths in the ratio 3:2. The shorter length is 50cm long. (a) How long is the larger length? The patio is 4.8 m long and 3 m wide. Mr Fletcher is going to cover the patio with paving slabs. Each paving slab is a square of side 40 cm.
