Safety Circuit Open

CAUTION, when investigating safety circuit faults, be aware that many LCE products use 230 VAC for the safety circuit. Safety Circuit is open (all EcoSystem products). On KCM, detected at ADON Input 1. One or more safety circuit devices are open (wiring diagram –E05). It is normal to see this fault while on Inspection. When testing the safety circuit while on Inspection, momentarily press and hold the SAFE button on the service panel. If the safety circuit is good, the fault 0021 will go away. If does not, the safety circuit is still open. 0021 Sub-Codes This fault code incorporates sub-codes. When reading the event log and 0021 appears, press the SELECT/ACCEPT button to view the sub-code: 2100 – Further description depends on ADON board in use:  ADON1 – Safety circuit open at ADON Input 1.  ADON2 – The car is on Inspection. This sub-code can get logged during a very brief power interruption. 2101 – ADON2 only. Safety circuit opened between XM5/1 and XM1/1 (wiring diagram – E05 A4-A6). 2102 – ADON2 only. Hoistway safety circuit opened between XM1/1 and XH1/1 (wiring diagram –E05 A4). 2103 – ADON2 only. Safety circuit opened between XH1/1 and XC1/3 indicating MR Inspection is or was on (wiring diagram –E05 A4-D4). 2104 – ADON2 only. Safety circuit opened between XC1/3 and XC1/5, including car top Inspection and car stop switches (wiring diagram –E05 D4). 0022 Door Lock Opened In Flight Voltage was lost at the door lock input. When doors are locked, SHAFT DOOR CONTACT LED should be on. For KCM check ADON Input 3 (XH2/3). For Miprom HS/ST check LD INFO on HLSB or MRCB. CAUTION, many LCE products use 230 VAC for the door locks. 0023 Gate Switch Opened In Flight Voltage was lost at the gate switch input. When doors are locked, CAR DOOR CONTACT LED should be on. For KCM check ADON Input 2 (XC1/7). For Miprom HS/ST check CD INFO on HLSB or MRCB. CAUTION, many LCE products use 230 VAC for the gate switch. 0025

Start Permit Fault

KONE ECOSYSTEM 10.3 LCE Fault Codes At the end of a run, either the main contactors (KCM – 201:1, 201:2, 421:N) or (Miprom ST – U, D, SF) have not dropped or a back contact failed to make. At idle, there should be voltage at ADON XD1/3 (wiring diagram –E04 C2). This is also a valid fault for Miprom HS. CAUTION, many LCE products use 230 VAC for Start Permit. 0026 Drive Fault Depending on the system, a fault has occurred in the V3F drive, LCE DRV, or LCE MCU. More specific information is required from drive event log. 0027 K7 Relay Failed Off The K7 relay on the ADON board is stuck in the energized state. Replace the ADON board. 0028 Blocked Photocell Employed on units with swing doors – door is closed and photocell is blocked. Back to Contents

0029 Excessive Pre-Opening During ADO, the car door reached full open position before the car was level and stopped. This fault is informational and will not interrupt operation. 0031 Excessive Terminal Slowdown Speed May currently not be used in North America. 0032 Brake Failed The brake failed to set. May currently not be used in North America 0033 Brake Dropped Fault The brake set during a run. May currently not used in North America 0034 Unintended Motion Miprom ST The ACUM has detected a fault, including possible unintended motion. To reset, turn MR Inspection on, press the ACUM reset button, and cycle power. 0035 E-Brake Relay Failed Miprom ST A fault was detected with the E-Brake relay. 0036 Main Contactor Dropped The Main Contactor (201) dropped during a run. Possible drive fault in the LCE DRV, LCE MCU or V3F drive. With V3F25 drive, check continuity of 201 contacts in the PWM ENABLE circuit (see W/D sheet –E04 2/3 B6). Momentary interruption in flight will cause 0101 alone, but longer duration will cause 0101 & 0036.

KONE ECOSYSTEM 10.3 LCE Fault Codes With LCE DRV, will occur during a correction run if Par. 6-13 MAX CREEP TIME IN COR DIR is set too low. This is a form of stall protection. The sequence under this condition is for display to show 0101, then 0036. 0037 Brake Failed The brake either failed to lift within 1 second of the lift command or it dropped during a run. Possible causes include a defective or improperly adjusted brake switch. Correct the problem and cycle power to reset. 0038 Main Brake Failed KCM Main brake sensing is detected by a pair of wires from XEB1 on the main brake power supply (388:1) to XEB1 on the ADON board. Fault 0038 indicates a loss of continuity on these wires or they have been accidentally connected to XEB1 on the E-brake power supply (388:2). Correct the problem and cycle power to reset. 0038 E-Brake Fault Miprom ST An E-Brake fault was detected. 0039 Buffer Test Button Stuck The Buffer Test button (77:U – 77:N) in the upper RH corner of the LCE CPU is stuck. The elevator will not start until the problem is corrected. 0041 E-Brake Failed The ADON board detected a failure of the E-Brake to lift. Possible causes:  E-brake power supply LED should illuminate and output ~200 VDC when a direction button is pressed (must be on MR Insp.)  E-brake coil open. Check continuity (MX05-10 = 75-90 ohms, MX20 = 230-265 ohms).  E-brake air gap out of tolerance. See A-XX-5-8 MonoSpace Brake Adjustment  E-brake micro-switch out of adjustment or defective. Check at ADON XEB2 connector. Correct the problem and cycle power to reset. NOTE: E-brake supervision can be bypassed temporarily to enable the elevator to be moved to the machine level by following these steps: 1. Turn MR Inspection on. 2. Record initial setting of 5-9 (E-brake supervision), then set to 0. 3. Turn the power off and move the ADON PARAM jumper to SET. 4. Turn the power on and do an ADON LEARN (5-25=1). The sequence should go as follows:  ADON LEARN  INSP RUN – Move car on Inspection, either direction until STOP. With 5-9 set to 0, it should move without fault.  STOP – stop the inspection run  DONE 5. Turn the power off and move the ADON PARAM jumper to RUN. 6. Turn the power on and check the operation. 0042

Cab Lighting Failed Unpublished Work - © Otis Elevator 2008

6

KONE ECOSYSTEM 10.3 LCE Fault Codes The CCBN (car top connection board) has detected a loss of 110 VAC lighting power. Another possibility is an optional cab light detector (wiring diagram –E24 A6) connected to the KNX RIF board has detected a lighting failure. The car will continue to the destination floor and shut down until cab lighting is restored. 0043 Door Close Limit Failed The door close limit was not detected for a time (about 12 seconds) after the gate switch and door locks are closed. Check the magnetic proximity switch on the AMD door operator. 0044 Door Closing Failed During the closing cycle, the door locks and/or gate switch fail to make up as detected by the ADON board at Inputs 2 and/or 3. On KCM see wiring diagram –E05 E4-G4 terminals XC1/7 and XH2/3. For Miprom HS/ST, check inputs CD INFO, LD INFO and CLOSE LIMIT. CAUTION, many LCE products use 230 VAC for the door locks and gate switch. 0045 Door Close Limit Failed Miprom HS/ST With WG door operator, no voltage at SS INFO input on HLSB when the doors are fully closed. The limit is a learned position in software (not a physical switch) that operates RC1 relay on the WG door board when the doors are closed. When the doors are closed, LED DS10 on the door board should be on, relay RC1 should be energized, and the contact should be closed from TB5-1 to TB5-3 on the WG door board. On older WG door boards, RC1 relay was the same size as the other relays on the board. These were problematic relays and prone to fail. Subsequent versions were modified with a RC1 relay that is larger than the others. 0046 Door Limit Fault Miprom HS/ST Either a door lock (LD INFO), gate switch (CD INFO) or door CLOSE LIMIT did not made up 5 seconds after the doors are fully closed. The doors will continue to cycle until all contacts are made. If the problem persists after 4 consecutive door cycles, a fault 0044 will appear. 0048 Reopen Device Stuck One of the door reopen devices (photocell, door detector, safe edge or door open button) has been active more than 1 minute. Normal operation should resume when the obstruction is removed. 0049 Delayed Door Closing Either a door lock (LD INFO), gate switch (CD INFO) or door CLOSE LIMIT did not made up 15 seconds from the start of closing. The doors will continue to cycle until all contacts are made. If the problem persists after 4 consecutive door cycles, a fault 0044 will appear. 0050 Stuck Anti-Creep Device Also fault code 0059. KONE ECOSYSTEM 10.3 LCE Fault Codes 0051 Start Failed The elevator has made 5 unsuccessful attempts to start. If the fault is accompanied by 0101, look for drive or LCE DRV problem. Possible causes:  ADO/ACL circuit fails on the ADON board (wiring diagram –E05 C5-C6).  Blown F1 fuse on MRCB or toggle switch SW1 turned off (Miprom HS) 0052 Terminal Slowdown Switches Both Active KCM Synchronization switches 77:U and 77:N are active at the same time – 77U and 77N LED’s on the CPU are both on. The car will shut down, but may be operated on Inspection. Miprom HS/ST Terminal slowdown switches BS1 and TS1 are active (open) at the same time – BS1 and TS1 LED’s on the HLSB are both off. 0053 Start Prohibited Miprom HS The start sequence is prohibited due to a contact in the wrong state in either the START INFO circuit or the DELTA input circuit (wiring diagram sheet 1 C2-D2). 0054 Hot Oil Miprom HS Oil has overheated and activated input TUS (wiring diagram 1 C2). 0055 OLR or RPR Fault Miprom HS Input OLR is low on the HLSB. Check motor overload or Reverse Phase Relay (wiring diagram sheet 1 D2). 0056 PPS Active Positive Pressure Switch (PPS) is active. Down operation is prohibited until corrected. This code is only applicable to PPS switches that are wired into the 722:2 (S1 = 1) OPT board. On most North American installations, if used, the PPS is connected in series with the down valve coils and does not have a direct input into the LCE control. If used, check for 24 VDC at the input terminal on OPT board 722:2 at X5/6. If not used, make sure parameter 1-3 is not set to 6 or 7. Parameter 1-3 must be set according to which PPS wiring arrangement is present:  Wired in series with valve coils – Set Param 1-3 to reflect NO PPS (1-3=1-5, see tables)  Wired to OPT board 722:2 – Set Param 1-3 to reflect PPS present (1-3=6-7, see tables) Miprom HS – Check input PPS INFO on the HLSB (wiring diagram sheet 2 A2). 0057 UPX Input Fault Miprom HS The UPX input on the HLSB was low when an up run was attempted (wiring diagram sheet 1 D2). Possible causes: Unpublished Work - © Otis Elevator 2008

KONE ECOSYSTEM 10.3 LCE Fault Codes  

Failure of relay USR1, SF, SFT, LRE or U. Failure of output USX OUT on HLSB. Back to Contents

0058 Non Drive Time Out Something (door locks, drive fault, etc.) prevented the elevator from starting for 100 seconds after a demand was issued. When fault 0058 occurs, the car will be taken out of the group and may also cause fault code 0086. 0059 Anti-creep Device Stuck Also fault code 0050. 0060 Drive Pick-up Signal Fault A failure occurred of pick-up output signal (100ms pulse) from the drive to initiate deceleration. See terminal XM17/1 on the Drive Motion Control board. 0061 Excessive Nudge Time Door closing in nudging operation is taking too long. If the door locks (LD INFO), gate switch (CD INFO) and door CLOSE LIMIT are not active within a certain time after nudging begins, the doors will re-cycle. After 4 unsuccessful closing attempts, fault 0044 will display. Check for adequate nudging speed and torque (doors not stalling) and for door obstructions. 0062 Inspection Button Stuck An Inspection UP or DOWN button is stuck. Check MR, car top, and hoistway access switches. 0063 Door Bypass Switch Fault Either the Car Door or Landing Door Bypass switch is on when the elevator is not on Inspection. 0063 Gate or Hoistway Door Bypass Switch Fault Miprom HS/ST Either the car gate or hoistway Door Bypass switch is active when the elevator is not on Inspection. Clear the fault and cycle the power to restore operation. 0064 K637 Relay Failed Off KCM Relay K637 on the car to CCBN board is active when not on Fire Service Phase 1. K637 is only energized to bypass the in-car stop switch during Phase 1 when the car is in flight. During all other modes of operation, the back contact is monitored by the CCBN. See wiring diagram – E05 D3 (“To SW” means software input). Miprom HS/ST Software monitoring the contact state of ESX1 and ESX2 (Phase 1) relays has detected a relay in the wrong state. See ESX INFO input on wiring diagram sheet 2 D2 and ESX relays on sheet 1 A7-8. Clear the fault and cycle the power to restore operation. 0065 KCM

See wiring diagram sheet 2-C18. May also appear as fault 0013. 0070 Leveling Relay Fault Miprom HS A fault has occurred in the operation of relays LRU, LRD and/or LRE. Check operation of output LVL ENA on MRCB (wiring diagram sheet 1 B2). 0071 Missing Door Zone KCM Front door zone (30) or rear door zone (B30) did not turn on at the floor. The car will continue to the destination floor without door operation. With stationary tape and car top BAR Reader, the 30 switch is channel C in the BAR Reader and is triggered by a 10” flag mounted to the far edge of the tape at each landing. The rear door zone, B30 is a set/reset (“Schmersal”) and operated by two magnets 10” apart. For most other applications without the BAR Reader, both door zone switches should be Schmersal set/reset switches mounted on the car top and connected to XB21 (30) and XB24 (B30) on the CCBN board. See wiring diagram –E07 1/2 C1-C2.

KONE ECOSYSTEM 10.3 LCE Fault Codes As doors are opening, LCE control momentarily drops relay K553 in the ADO/ACL circuit to ensure the door locks have opened electrically. Fault 0080 indicates that the door lock circuit is not open; i.e., voltage does not go low at Input 3 on the ADON board when K553 drops and doors are open. See wiring diagram –E05 D5 and –E14 1/3 G5. Possible causes are defective K553 relay on ADON board or door locks are bypassed. 0081 Re-Level Failure The elevator has stalled during re-level. On hydro, fault occurs after an elapsed time during relevel. On traction, fault occurs after 10 failed attempts to re-level. Back to Contents

0082 Door Zone Supervision Failed On KCM831 Door Zone circuit supervision has failed. On KCM, at least one of the ADON relays 486, 443:1, 443:2 did not energize during the run. When detected, the car will stop at the destination floor, cycle the doors and reset after 15 seconds. Fault code 0082 signifies first event. Fault code 0015 occurs after two consecutive events. See wiring diagram –E05 C5-C6. Miprom ST Door Zone supervision has detected a fault. See wiring diagram sheet 9. Verify that the DZ “30” oscillator switch is turning on and off correctly at LCE CPU XC11-3 as the car passes door zone vanes. The LCE CPU input for DZ supervision is connected to XC11-3. 0083 Position Loss Elevator position at LCE CPU is lost or does not match hoistway information. The normal reaction is to make a correction run to a terminal landing and reset position.
