CCTV SYSTEM DEFINITION / UTILITY:
CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) is a visual surveillance technology designed for monitoring a variety of environments and activities in visible range of the camera.
CCTV systems typically involve a fixed (or "dedicated") communications link between cameras and monitors.
At EXL, app 60% area of floors is covered including all entry & exits.
COMPONENTS OF CCTV SYSTEM:
Following are the main components of CCTV system. o
Cameras.
o
Monitors.
o
DVMR (Digital Video Multiplexer & Recorder)
Each component is an integral part of the system and works in a close circuit like a chain.
For the results these system should be in perfect conditions.
SOP for Operating DVMR: 1. Select the area to be viewed by selecting camera Key on DVMR. 2. Press Play button to put DVMR in record mode. 3. Select event time by rotating the Jog / shuttle Button. 4. Now recorded events will start displaying with the time laps of 1 Second. 5. To view the linear recording press Play button once more. 6. During the process, Rotate Jog /shuttle button to forward / rewind the recording. 7. Recording can be Zoomed any time by Pressing Zoom + and Zoom – key.

7. Press Live Button to come out from the recording mode. 9. Now the DVMR will start showing live display. 10. Recording can be archived in floppies as well as in CD by putting these into correct drive & using save as option from “Menu” button at DVMR. 11. Recording is stored for the last 6 days only.
MAINTENANCE: Routine maintenance is required for the smooth operation of the system. At Exl following checklists followed for maintaining the CCTV System.

MONITORING: CCTV System is not monitored on 24 X 7 bases. In case of an escalation, Recording is checked by Engg team post an approval of AVP / VP –Facilities or VP – Operations of the process of requestor. Findings if any are escalated to AVP / VP – Facilities.
