The Leech EFFECT: An ordinary shirt button is held in the hand – and under the extreme pressure of a tight fist, is pushed beneath the surface of your skin! The spectator can rub the button and feel it and see it beneath your skin. SET UP: You obviously need two identical buttons, and some liquid skin (liquid latex from your local Halloween shop.) Lay one of the buttons dead center in your palm and apply a couple of coats of latex to it – blow the latex dry with a blow dryer to expedite drying time and to keep the color even. Apply until it looks and feels like the button is lying just beneath your skin. You should be able to carry on “normal” activity with the button resting there. Place the other button in your pocket and go find someone. PRESENTATION: Without showing the button in your hand. Withdraw the duplicate button from your pocket with your opposite hand. Hand it out to be examined and take it back. Now – simply do a false transfer and quickly flash the “flesh button” in your hand – commenting – “Ok, take one last look at that button.” Squeeze your hand and mimic the pain of the button penetrating your hand and then finally open your hand. Allow spectators to rub their hand over the button and feel it. NOTES: NEVER tell the spectators what you plan to do before you do it. Let it be a total surprise.
