The Saloon Played a major role in the life of male workers. Also served as political centers. Offered free toilets, water for horses, and free newspapers for customers.
15.3 Amusement Parks and Sports Coney Island- New York City’s amusement parkwater slides and railroad rides. Boxing and baseball became popular. Cincinnati Red Stockings first pro baseball team formed in 1869. Football also became popular in colleges and universities. Law tennis, golf, and croquet.
