Introduction Requirement Routine functionality in SAP can be used to check a particular condition and do a certain task; only if that condition is satisfied. Condition has to be created as a requirement routine in transaction VOFM and it has to be assigned in the configuration against the relevant task. Eg: Apply a certain price condition type; only is the sales document type equals to “ZSOR” This is very useful in areas such as, Pricing, Outputs, Copy controls, etc. This document will give an overview on creating new requirement routines in the transaction VOFM.

How to create a Requirement Routine Scenario Create a Pricing requirement routine to check the Sales Document type equals to “ZSOR” Transaction: VOFM 

Go to Menu option; Requirements -> Pricing



Enter any Number in between 600 to 999 for Custom Developments, Description & Application area

 

Press ENTER Key Pop Screen appears for a Access Key

Note: Every New Routine needs an Access Key   



Send the Object number and installation details to the BASIS for a Access Key Once the Access Key is received, Modification can be done with the help of Technical Consultant To create a routine, again enter the Routine Number, description, Application and insert the Access Key. Make sure you enter same routine number that you sent to Basis to get the access key. (Every routine number require a unique access key) ABAP Editor will open and required code can be copied from Standard SAP Routine and Custom Code can be developed

Once the coding is completed need to Activate the code using option Program -> Activate (This is totally with the ABAP’s)

button or from the menu

Once coding is done, you have to activate the Routine.  

Select option To activate the routine; use menu option; Edit -> Active

Make sure “Active” tick box is marked 

Once the Routine is activated, you have to use that in the configuration before generating it.

Above example illustrate on how to add a pricing requirement routine to a pricing procedure. 

Once configuration is done, go to the VOFM code again, by selecting the relevant routine &



pressing button Go to Menu option; Program -> Generate
