1.0 Introduction The following gives details of National, European and International Standards connected with generic forms of Lifting Equipment. The list is by equipment type mainly as they appear in the LEEA COPSULE, and not alphabetical order. Note that due to the continued development of standards globally, the list is not guaranteed to be comprehensive. We are therefore always ready to consider additions and welcome comments. The document is intended to be a live document accessible on the LEEA website and updated regularly, and therefore, it is not recommended to download as saved versions could quickly become out of date. The guidance does not cover the horizontal standards for each product type and it is advised that reference is made to LEEA 015 for full listing of lifting equipment standards, or the normative references within the standard chosen. This document lists the standards numbers only and each number is a link to the relevant standards bodies’ website. The link will take you directly to the listed information provided by the standards body, such information will vary from body to body, but typically the information will contain the full title, brief summary of the scope, the current status and the purchase price*. This document also specifies the statutory in-service periods between thorough examinations only for each item of lifting equipment as recommended by LEEA for guidance. It should be noted, however, that under certain circumstance this statutory period of examination may be extended in accordance with a written scheme of examination. Further guidance on written examination schemes can be sought in LEEA 032 guidance document. It should also be noted that certain equipment will require examination after first installation and that all of the equipment will be subject to thorough examination following exceptional circumstances. The guidance only references the statutory requirements to save constant repetition of the above statement and to ensure that before applying a written scheme of examination members are advised to read our guidance on the subject first.
