WHAT YOU WILL NEED 3 mm crochet hook (nr 11) Cotton yarn for 3 mm crochet hook : 1 WHITE, 1 BLACK and 1 LIGHT PINK balls 8 mm safety eyes (x 2) Stuffing material (about 50g)

BEFORE STARTING Make sure to crochet tight enough; otherwise little holes will appear after stuffing and you'll see white polyester fibres. If you crochet too loose, use a smaller crochet, from one half or one lower number. The crochet number is indicative : you totally can use another crochet, as long as you use a matching yarn ; your lion will simply be smaller or bigger. I worked with GONG from PLASSARD in these colours : 001 (White), 002 (Black) and 210 (Light Pink). With these yarns, my little cow measures 11 cm, from feet to head.

We're going to make the paws. Divide the body in 4 equal parts (= 4 x 12 st). With the white yarn, and with the schemes thereafter, crochet : (1 sl st, ch 6) x 4

= sl st locations

= body's stitches = ch = sl st

Each of the 4 triangles will become a paw, the central lozenge will become the belly.

THE SPOTS There are 6 spots : 1 on the head (right under the ear), and 5 on the body (1 on the back and 1 on each paw). You should crochet them randomly, to have a unique cow. But if you prefer, there are the diagrams of those I made :

Spot 1 - Ear

Spot 2 - Left hind paw

Spot 3 - Right hind paw

Spot 4 - Right front paw

Spot 5 - Back

Spot 6 - Left front paw

CONGRATS ! You just finished your little cow. Now, you only have to relax and admire your wonderful work. And, as a bonus, why not learn some funny facts about cows ? : Did you know that cows have 4 stomaches ? They are essential for good absorption of nutrients. They are called rumen, reticulum, omasum and abomasum. An adult cow drinks about 100l of water and eats between 60 and 80kgs of fodder, in only a single day !

If you make this cow, don’t hesitate to share the picture on social media, thanks to the hashtag #mifilmicalin, or tag me on the picture (@lilie_mfmc on Instagram, @mifil.micalin on Facebook). I will be really glad to discover your work !
