Introduction Work on quality and innovation is a fundamental principle of the PPT development. Experience which PPT-Industrijska pneumatika has got during 60 years means tradition. If you produce buses, PPT-Industrijska pneumatika will offer door control solutons and necessary accessories.

BUS DOOR CONTROL In according with international standards StVZO, UIC,IEC, PPT-Industrijska pneumatika has developed pneumo-electric door control systems which satisfy standards of passenger and equipment safety. Our systems satisfy all requirements of door reversibility and are made in two basic variants: - system with one side reversibility (closing the door) - system with both sides reversibility (opening and closing the door). Depending door types, you can use rotary helical mechanism or linear cylinder as bus door control solution. Based on customer’s requirements, it is possible to instal one of more types of main control valves: 5-ports, 2-ways ; 4-ports, 2-ways or 4-ports, 3-ways solenoid pneumatic valve. In addition to accessories for door control, PPT-Industrijska pneumatika offers systems for opening the luggage compartment on the bus. The following examples include the basic principle of bus door control and, as requested by the customer, incorporates optional equipment depending on the type and purpose of the bus: Pneumo-electric scheme-figure 1. Characteristic of this mechanism is that rotary mechanism achieves linear motion at the end of stroke - the door is lifted and is mechanically locking (with pins) when it is closed. Reversibility in the closing direction is achieved through the built in microswitches to a rotary mechanism. When a door is closing, if they meet an obstacle, the door is lifting, trigger microswitch and open. Reversibility in the opening direction is achieved through differential pressure switch (based on pressure difference between front and rear cylinder chamber).

Pneumo-electric scheme-figure 2. Installation of two wings doors with reversibility in one side (closing)

Reversibility in the closing direction is achieved through differential pressure switch (based on pressure difference between front and rear cylinder chamber) Pressure difference can be adjusted in the range of 1,1 - 6 bar. Characteristics of this instalation are: 1. Linear cylinders are built-in with a cylinder block piston rod in the retracted position (door closed) 2. Auxiliary valves are built in with microswitches for auxiliary actuating signal. In case of pressure disappearance in the system, to open the doors, activating the valve, by steel cable, cylinders are unlocked.

Reversibility in the both sides is achieved through double differential pressure switch (based on pressure difference between front and rear cylinder chamber). Pressure difference can be adjusted in the range of 1,8 - 6 bar. 4-ports, 3-ways solenoid valve is built in instalation and its application achieves higher degree of reliability and support if ECS electronics is built on the bus.

Control block

Installations (fig.3 and fig.4) are used for city buses. Characteristic of these instalations is that reversibility in closing direction is achieved through elctronic control block (with timer) Electronic control block is adjustable and using the button for door closing takes into programming mode. By pressing button to close the door, controller in the control block measures real-time feed cylinder piston rods and closing the door. In normal mode, if the cylinder piston P rod is encased in the time saved by the memory of controler, T-the control unit sends an electric pulsePto In solenoid of valve to open the door.

BUS Door control systems Pneumatic devices in the door control systems On the following figures, there are different types of pneumatic valves built in door control systems.

Control valves 4-ports, 3-ways control valves By the efect of pulsed electric signals to solenoids of valves, valve piston is brought into the front or rear cylinders or helical rotary mechanism chamber.

4-ports, 3-ways solenoid valve with two solenoids

4-ports, 3-ways solenoid valve with three solenoids

Common for this type of control valve is that during intervention at the door, bringing the pneumatic signal from the auxiliary valve, the valve is brought in to position to exhaust air from the both cylinder chambers and door can be opened manually. When reengaging the air in the system, both cylinder chambers are under pressure, and bringing the pulsed electric signal, the door is opening and closing slowly, without impact. In the control valve with 3 solenoids application, when you open the door, it encounters an obstacle, an electric pulse signal, effecting onto third solenoid, the valve is brought onto position that both cylinder chambers engaged by compressed air (no force). If the obstacle is removed, the door continues to open, due to pressure differences in the cylinder chambers. Other types of valves don’t have these possibilities.

Differential Pressure Switch

Double-acting

Single-acting

These are devices in the door control system where the reversibility of system is requested. Depend on requsted reversibility (one side or two sides) single-acting or double-acting differential pressure switches can be used.

Auxiliary Valves

If there is a failure or a repair some elements of pneumatic door instalation using this valves you released pneumatic instalations and chambers of cylinders and then doors can be opened manualy.

Two-ways Control Valves This valve regulates speed of opening and closing the bus doors by regulating the air flow.

BUS Door control systems

Linear Cylinder For safe opening and closing of bus doors, cylinders have been developed by special requirements. At the given air pressure, they provide the force needed for opening and closing the door, and extended cylinder cushions provide smooth working at the end positions of the door. At customer`s requests, we are producing cylinders with different strokes, as well as cylinders, with magnetic piston which, with using of contactless switches helps in monitoring the piston rod position, signaling the opening and closing of doors.

Rotary Mechanisms There are two basic variants of rotary mechanisms: - Rotary mechanisms with lifting of the door, Type 1 - Rotary mechanisms without lifting of the door, Type 2 and Type 3 Working principle is same in the both systems. Linear motion of the piston rod in pneumatic cylinder guides to over-turn into a rotating. Rotary Mechanism With lifting of the door Design of mechanism with setting up possibilities of spring in the upper shaft`s bearing allows lifting of the door in case of encountering an obstacle during closing. In this case, the limit switch is activated and provides electrical signal that allows reversibility. Rotary Mechanism Without lifting of the door Application of this mechanism is very simple and economic. Pneumo-electric installation gives system reversibility.
