Parallel Running

Key Benefits •

Improved run times

Faster time to results

Three options available: •

Series

Parallel

Smart

Selected option is highlighted in notification bar in bottom right hand corner

Consequence Data Export Available in previous versions, omitted from last release and now reintroduced in this release

Contains more results than previous version; aligns with the Consequence summary report Selected consequence results exported to the grid; further options to export to Excel

Greying out objects on the tree Every object has a context in Safeti (based on the active runrow) Red asterisk indicates which runrow is currently active All objects NOT selected as part of the active runrow will be greyed out Scenarios, Populations etc. Key Benefit – Quality Assurance in study set up – Easier result investigation

Population database Available in previous versions, omitted from last release and now reintroduced in this release Population data can be brought in to Safeti from an external data source Various sources are supported: – ESRI – CAD – Databases (Access, SQL etc.)

Cloud area reported on Max footprint graph Functionality was available in v6.7, reintroduced in 8.1 Also reported in GIS Cloud area shown in the legend

Choose and persist colours for risk contours Colours used for risk contours were not fixed

Users want to fix the colours used – e.g. 10-3 per year will always be shown as red

New functionality in 8.1 supports this

The settings can be persisted using the workspace template feature

Export workspace Phast/Safeti study files includes various files: – Study files Phast

– Risk Results – Material files – Map image files – Parameter

All stored in multiple locations, hence difficult to share study files between multiple parties Export workspace feature wraps all data into a single file Doesn’t take external connections 14

Safeti

Email support case Leverages the export workspace feature

User can send all data needed for a support case in one file and in one go

Options vary depending on Phast/Safeti

Angled Platforms Angled Platforms. This enables the assessment of platforms within an installation that are aligned at different angles to each other In previous versions, multiple platforms could only be aligned along a fixed axis to one another (parallel or perpendicular) Users can now accurately reflect the geographical layout of multiple platforms defined as part of an installation

64 Bit Support 64 Bit support. This allows for increased memory allocation, improved speed and performance resulting in faster calculations. 64 Bit 32 Bit

Non-Hydrocarbon Risks Non-Hydrocarbon Risks. The addition of the capability further cements Safeti Offshore’s position as a holistic risk assessment package for evaluation of both hydrocarbon and nonhydrocarbon risks.

Ignition control modelling Ignition control modelling. Users now have the option to specify when shutdown will be initiated enabling finer control and more realistic modelling. Two options are possible: – “on isolation”, or – “on detection” Applicable to the TDIIM model only

22

DNV GL ©

04 December 2017

Ability to modify ESD and Blowdown delay times on case level Ability to modify ESD and Blowdown delay times on case level. The response times can now be varied at the case level (i.e. small, medium, large etc.) giving users a high amount of flexibility with respect to scenario definition In previous versions, a single value was used for all cases irrespective of size

23

Vulnerability selection for Risk Ranking Points (RRPs) Vulnerability selection for Risk Ranking Points (RRPs). It is now possible to select what vulnerabilities should be used in calculations for RRPs. This allows more targeted calculations resulting in appreciable time savings Previously, the RRP calculations were done for all vulnerabilities leading to increased calculation times and data generation

Pool evaporation modelling (modelling of the evaporation off pools) Pool evaporation modelling (modelling of the evaporation off pools). A long-standing gap in the analytical capabilities of Safeti Offshore was the inability to model clouds that disperse of pools. This limitation has now been addressed.

Integration with Safeti for combined on/offshore QRA Integration with Safeti for combined on/offshore QRA. – Export cases to onshore. This enables users to take advantage of the safety systems capabilities (isolation, detection and blowdown) available in Safeti Offshore to create cases that can be run in Safeti. – Ability to generate risk contour data. Traditionally, risk results (e.g. individual risk and PLL) from Safeti Offshore have been in the form of tables/numbers with no graphical output. Users can now generate risk contour data in a similar manner to what obtains for the onshore version. Figure 1: Example of Off/Onshore assets located in close proximity to each other

Horizontal Jet Fires (beta) Horizontal Jet Fires (beta). The fire modelling has been improved to enable the assessment of fires in both the vertical and horizontal directions. Currently in beta. Not activated via the GUI. Activate as follows: – The code to trigger horizontal jet fire is: – Max number of areas=99 – Max release scenario =51
