About the Author I am a mother of three, just embarking on the home-schooling journey with my eldest who just turned 7. Quite frankly, I was a little disheartened to discover that a Biblical Cosmology/Astronomy curriculum doesn't exist. It appears that regardless of where your child receives their education, whether it be at a private, public, or home-school environment, the astronomy curriculum is all scientism-based, meaning, much of what is taught is not backed by scripture and the scientists, who have no interest in the God of the Bible, are the ones who are

considered the reliable source of scientific truth. This is unacceptable! When selecting the first-grade curriculum for my child, I was stunned that the faith-based science curriculum contained Exploring Creation with Astronomy and this was to be my child's scientific foundation. Though I could chose another science option, and I did, Exploring Creation with Zoology 1, I find it interesting that they highly recommend starting your child off with Astronomy. July 24, 2015 will always be a memorable day for me. It was the day YouTube recommended I watch this video: The Flat Earth Conspiracy Documentary. I was most likely educating myself about some other fascinating theory, but my immediate response was, “WOW, the rabbit hole runs deep!” My husband was at work so I just watched in Ah for its duration. I was a “flat-earther” instantly. The amount of lies that our government and alphabet agencies are behind, why wouldn't they lie about the shape of our home, too. At a young age, I had never come to believe that anyone had walked on the moon, so believing the Earth was flat was not a giant leap for me. For my husband, it took a little more convincing. He needed to do his own research, so I didn't push him. It didn't take long for him to come to the same conclusion I had come to on July 24th. When you try to debunk the globe, you end up with only one conclusion, the Earth is flat! After the completion of Eric Dubay's video, I quickly set out to read Genesis chapter 1. I had missed so much over the years. I was raised in a Christian home, yet I re-read Genesis in a whole new light that day. It was truly amazing. I got reacquainted with the Bible like never before. My priority, not long after watching the video, was was to locate a geocentric/flat earth home-school curriculum along with watching endless hours of youtube videos and reading books and websites catching up with other flat-earth research. So much to re-learn, un-learn, and learn. I hadn't ever really learned about the heliocentric model, it was just something I was taught or more like, told, no questions asked. My search for such a curriculum concluded with very little results. I did locate The Association for Biblical Astronomy, a short pdf geocentric globe curriculum, not exactly complete and it's not Biblical. I have searched numerous Facebook FE groups and come to find out, other parents are out searching for the very same thing I am. We're all looking to teach and present to our kiddos the truth, the Biblical truth. There is a vast amount of research, but a concise, textbook style grade-school curriculum does not exist, to my knowledge. Out of necessity, I have put together a Biblical Earth model curriculum for ages 6-12 (Kindergarten through 6th grade). The most elegant piece of knowledge you can acquire is knowing what the truth is. Why does it matter what the shape of our home is? It's not just about flat earth, it's about standing on the Word of God and exposing scientism as the satanic fraud it is. The Hebrews were much closer to the exit out of Eden than we are today. The closer you get back to Adam and Eve the more you will see the reality of the Flat Earth emerge. GOD may have ousted them from his presence but He gave them a map of where they were! The Earth is flat and enclosed in a dome, aka, YHWH's Terrarium. It's our due diligence to make sure the next generation understands and appreciates God's beautiful design. The beautiful truth is....we are the focus of God's creation! Disclaimer I do not claim to be an expert on this subject. I am first and foremost a seeker of Biblical Truth and sometimes that leads me down some pretty bizarre paths. Honestly, we are so far removed from the reality of our history/origins that we discover the past to be quite similar to a fictional fairy tale. I don't have fancy expensive letters after my name. I am a mother and wife and my occupation outside the home is a nurse. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Biological Science from Washington State University with minor in Chemistry. I am just trying to help end the 500+ year lie and the next generation is very much reliant on material such as this to prevent them from being deceived.

Lesson 1 Cosmology Wisdom From Above There is an order to our cosmos, and once you start to understand that order, cosmology will not be a

class, but rather a means to recognize your Creator's signature throughout creation. When you look up at the night sky, what do you see? Everything that you can see around you and up in the sky are part of the heavenly cosmos, created just for Earth, the center and crown of Creation. The heavenly cosmos is everything that exists! That includes all the stars, sun, moon, and Earth. Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word. Isaiah 66: 1, 2 Isn't God as high as the heavens? And look at the highest stars –how lofty they are! Job 22:12 Cosmology is the science of the origin and development of the universe (or cosmos), originally used by Pythagoras in the 6th century B.C. In the general sense, a cosmos is an orderly or harmonious system. The word derives from the Greek term κόσμος, literally meaning "order" or "ornament" and metaphorically "world", and is antithetical to the concept of chaos. Today, the word is generally used as a synonym of the Latin loanword "Universe." Heliocentrism has unfortunately high-jacked the term to include 'space.' The study of of the cosmos is called astronomy. The word aster means star, while onomy means the knowledge of. The word astronomy, then, means knowledge of the stars. Many years ago, the only word used for every object in the cosmos was aster or star. In other words, every light in the night sky was called a star. We still use the word astronomy to talk about the study of everything in the cosmos, even though the way we use it today means more than just studying the stars. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory. 1 Corinthians 15:41 Ancient Persian and Arabian traditions ascribe the invention of astronomy to Adam, Seth, and Enoch. Josephus asserts that is originated in the family of Seth. An astronomer is someone whose job is to study the stars. You are going to be an amateur (beginner) astronomer this year because you will be studying the cosmos as you take this course.

The Night Sky Have you ever been out in the countryside at night far away from city lights? On a clear night in the countryside, you can see many thousands of stars in the sky. It's truly a miraculous sight, and it's called the Milky Way.

Clocks, Calendars, and Seasons Did you know that the sun, moon, and stars in the sky help us tell time, create our calendar with days and years, and help us know the timing of the seasons? It's true. Many years ago, before people had clocks and calendars, they told the time of day by the position of the sun's shadow on the ground or used a sundial. They also knew when a month had passed by looking at the shape of the moon in the night sky. Knowing when the seasons arrive helped them to time the planting and harvesting of crops. How does a sundial work? A sundial works by a gnomon which is an essence on any form of stick. The gnomon casts a shadow and determines the time at that moment. As you can see by the name, a sundial is an instrument that measures the time using the sun. As the sun moves across the sky, so does the gnomon, it moves towards the different hours at the speed of the sun. Every design of a sundial relied on the gnomon, without the gnomon, the sundial won't be able to progressively

move from hour to hour. The Prague astronomical clock, or Prague orloj is a medieval astronomical clock located in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. The clock was first installed in 1410, making it the third-oldest astronomical clock in the world and the oldest one still operating. The astronomical dial is a form of mechanical astrolabe.,

Constellations The patterns of the stars in the night sky are called constellations. There is distinct and divine declaration that the great Creator both numbered as well as named the stars of Heaven. “He telleth the number of the stars; He calleth them all by their names.” Psalms 147:4 Has He revealed any of these names? Have any of them been handed down to us? “Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.” Job 9:9 Ancient people knew which constellations would be in the sky in each season of the year –winter, spring, summer, or fall. They also used the constellations to mark what year it was and how many years had passed since an event. Many years ago, then, before we had calendars in our homes, the night sky marked the passage of time.

Navigation A long time ago, the heavenly bodies helped sailors know which direction to sail. This was called celestial navigation. Astrolabes helped ancient sailors navigate by using the position of the stars. Astrolabes have thousands of uses, including telling time to mapping the night sky. Here is an informative video: TED Talks (astrolabe). The sextant, an instrument with a graduated arc of 60° and a sighting mechanism, is an important mathematical instrument for navigating at sea. It can also be used in astronomy. It is used to measure the angle between two far away objects. Most often these objects are the sun and the horizon, or the pole star and the horizon. An article in the Los Angeles Times, In the era of GPS, Naval Academy revives celestial navigation, states “Rather, it's the escalating threat of cyber attacks that has led the Navy to dust off its tools to measure the angles of stars. After all, you can't hack a sextant. We went away from celestial navigation because computers are great. The problem is, there's no backup.” LATimes.com Today sailors use compasses and Global Positioning Systems (GPS). A compass is a device with a needle that always points to the magnetic north. GPS uses ground based technology to track your position on

Earth. “The aviation industry remains unable to track aircraft even as easily available consumer devices come equipped with navigation technology. There isn't a worldwide tracking system.” Why we still can't track an airplane. Flying without the safety net of GPS sounds unsafe. You always know what direction you are going if you have a compass; you know exactly where you are if you have GPS. If you have neither of these, you can still know which direction you are going if you know the positions of the stars.

Migration God's plan for the lights in the sky not only include mankind. Scientists have learned that some birds know to fly south for the winter by the constellations. This is called migration. God made a very special way for birds to know when and how to fly south. He created within them a special gift we call instinct. Once instinct that God has given birds tells them to look at the constellations to know when to migrate south for the winter and when to migrate back north for the summer. It also tells them how to use the constellations to know which direction they must fly. This is why some birds often fly at night when they migrate. The songbirds fly at night, when skies are clear of predators and cool winds aid their flight. Ornithologists know that baby birds memorize the constellations, navigate by the North Star, and literally follow the heavens from breeding ground to feeding ground (Helping migrating birds navigate Chicago's glass walls, Nov. 2009)

Gravity Gravity, or gravitation, is a natural phenomenon, by which all things with mass are brought towards Earth. A natural phenomenon is an observable event which is not man-made. Examples include: a sunrise, weather, fog and thunder. According to scientific consensus, which have convoluted this simple concept, gravity is most accurately described by the general theory of relativity, proposed by Albert Einstein in 1915. The general theory of relativity is the geometric theory of gravitation and the current description of gravitation in modern physics. General relativity generalized special relativity and Newton's law of universal gravitation, providing a unified description of gravity as a geometric property of space and time, or spacetime. For most applications, gravity is well approximated by Newton's law of universal gravitation, which describes gravity as a force which causes any two bodies to be attracted to each other. Modern work on gravitational theory began with the work of Galielo Galilei in the late 16th and early 17th centuries. Galileo's work set the stage for the formulation of Newton's theory of gravity.

Astronomers Up till about the early 1500s, the scientific view of the universe was based on the ideas of the Greek astronomer, Ptolemy. He believed that the sun, moon and stars circled the earth, which itself moved backwards and forwards along a line. As the telescope was better developed, it became obvious from the observations that this was not what was happening. Two astronomers made their own observations and came up with their own

explanation of how the heavens worked: Tycho Brahe and Nicolaus Copernicus. Tycho Brahe made very careful observations over a long period of many years. He believed that his observations confirmed that the earth was stationary at the centre of the universe (i.e. that it stood still at the centre of everything). The sun and the moon moved round the earth. However, the planets (other than the earth) moved round the sun (not the earth) and were carried around the earth as the sun moved around the earth. Tycho Brahe died before he could publish his results, and his ideas are not well known today. He asked his assistant, Johannes Kepler, to publish them for him in terms of his geocentric view. Kepler, however, only partially kept his promise. He described Brahe’s model and showed that all the observations were consistent with it, but he personally preferred Copernicus’s model and came out openly in support of it. In order to make it fit the observations better, he proposed the idea that the planets and the earth move around the sun in ellipses, rather than in circles. Nicolaus Copernicus did not make as many or as good observations as Brahe. However, he was interested in the Greek philosophers, and he agreed with the ancient Greek philosopher, Plato, “The sun is the most magnificent of all the gods.” (Of course, Plato did not believe in the God of Scripture. He believed that there were a whole lot of gods, and he believed that the most important of these was the sun.) As Copernicus thought about it, he decided that the sun should be the center, rather than the earth. In his system (which was much simpler than Brahe’s) he had the sun at the center with all the planets going around it. This is the view that eventually became popular and is still taught today. Galileo Galilei, a Renaissance scientist, enthusiastically took up Copernicus’ position. Galileo claimed that he had found proof for the Copernican system when he constructed a telescope through which he was able to observe four moons of Jupiter. Just as Jupiter’s moons circled Jupiter, he said, so the earth and the other planets of the solar system circle the sun (The Association for Biblical Astronomy). The movie, The Principle, is a great resource to gain more knowledge into the geocentric and heliocentric controversy. Though the producers do not subscribe to the Hebrew conception of the universe, it's well-worth watching to gain more insight into this particular subject matter.

Geocentrism and Heliocentrism Geocentricity is a big word meaning “earth centered.” Earth is at the orbital center of all celestial bodies. Earth is “CENTER STAGE.” The alternative is heliocentricity, which means “sun centered.” Until about 500 years ago, it was believed that the earth was the center of the whole universe. Fun clip from Men in Black. They got this idea from two sources: 1. As they observed the sun crossing the heavens each day, and the moon and stars moving across the heavens at night, they came to the conclusion that the earth was standing still while the sun, moon and stars moved around it.

2. Scripture indicates in various places that the earth stands still, while the sun, moon and stars move around it. Brahe, you remember, said that the universe turns around the earth (we'll learn more about this in a later lesson), while Copernicus said that the earth was moving, while the sun and stars stood still. Who was right? There is one true source of truth, however: Scripture. What does scripture say? There are many references in the Scripture to the earth standing still while the sun moves. However, we will look at two important incidents: Joshua 10 and 2 Kings 20. In Joshua 10 we read of the miracle that God did to help His people to defeat the five kings of the Amorites. That day Joshua prayed to the Lord to stop the sun until they had defeated the Amorites completely. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Joshua 10:13 It is only possible to stop something that is moving. This indicates that the sun is moving, while the earth stands still. The other incident is recorded in 2 Kings 20. In this case Hezekiah was very ill, and he had been told that he was going to die. In his distress he cried out to the Lord, and the Lord promised that He would give him another fifteen years of life on this earth. As a sign He offered to let the sun go forward 10° or backwards 10°. Hezekiah asked that it go back. And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz. 2 Kings 20:11 Again, something can only go back if it is moving. This also indicates that the sun is moving, while the earth stands still.

NASA Today, many astronomers work for NASA, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. This course will not elaborate on the work of NASA. Telescopes Have you ever looked through a telescope? You can see a long way off when you do. There are a few notable telescopes; Hubble Space Telescope, and Large Binocular Telescope (LBT) telescope. The LBT is an optical telescope optical telescope for astronomy located on 10,700-foot Mount Graham in the Arizona. It is part of the Mount Graham International Observatory. The LBT is currently one of the world's most advanced optical telescopes. The telescope uses a nearinfrared instrument called LUCI (originally LUCIFER: Large Binocular Telescope Near-infrared Spectroscopic Utility with Camera and Integral Field Unit for Extragalactic Research). Lucifer is part of the Large Binocular Telescope, which happens to be right next to the Vatican Observatory on Mt. Graham in Tucson. Distance and Size of the Sun With regard to the diameter of the sun, there are several theories about the relative size and distance of the Sun. The Sun's Energy The Sun is red and heat-causing, while the Moon pale and cold. Lunar Month A complete lunar cycle is composed of 28 days, that is 28 days (of 24 hours each). A lunar month is measured between successive new moons (roughly 29 1/2 days). The length of a lunar month is 29.53059 days or (29 days, 12 hours, 44 minutes, and 2.8 seconds). The Old Farmer's Almanac Ever hear the saying, “once in a blue moon.” A blue moon is a rare event that occurs once every 3 years. God's Calendar

The 1st day of the first month (Abib/Nisan) was the first day of the Jewish religious year. It would begin at the new moon of our March / April (Ex 13:4, 23:15, Neh 2:1) and coincides with the latter rains (Joel 2:23). Each month began with a new moon. (Num 10:10, 28:11, 1 Sam 20:5, Psa 81:3, Isa 66:23, Ezek 46:3, Amos 8:5, Col. 2:16.) The 1st day of Tishri, in the Fall, customarily begins the new civil year. God's calendar uses both the sun and moon cycles. He made them for His own calendar. The months of the biblical calendar are based on the moon, while the length of a year is based on the sun. So the lunar cycle defines the months, while the solar cycle defines a year.

Lunar Eclipses A Total Lunar Eclipse can get a deep red glow and is sometimes called a blood moon and only occurs during a Full moon. On average, a Total Lunar Eclipse can be seen from any given location every 2.5 years. The next Total Lunar eclipse is Jan 31, 2018 (timeanddate.com). Lunar eclipses have been observed when the sun and moon were both above the horizon at the time of the eclipse (Zetetic Cosmogony, 68). We have seen, that during a lunar eclipse, the moon's self-luminous surface is covered by a semi-transparent something; that this 'something' is a definite mass, because it has a distinct and circular outline, as seen during its first and last contact with the moon. A lunar eclipse occurs when a semitransparent and well-defined body passes before the moon or between the moon's surface and the observer on Earth. That many such bodies exist in the firmament is almost a matter of certainty; and that one such as that which eclipses the moon exists at no great distance above the Earth, is a matter admitted by man of the leading astronomers of the day (Zetetic Astronomy, 114). 'Dark bodies' which Anaxagoras said 'were lower than the moon and move between it and the earth' are the cause of a lunar eclipse (Zetetic Cosmogony, 82).

Causes of Tides There are two tidal “bulges” that the coastal areas experience, two high and two low tides every 24 hours and 50 minutes. High tides occur 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. It takes six hours and 12.5 minutes for

the water at the shore to go from high to low, or from low to high. The existence of tides is often taken as a proof of gravity, but this is logically flawed. Because if the moon's "gravity" were responsible for a bulge underneath it, then how can anyone explain a high tide on the opposite side of the earth at the same time? Anyone can observe that there are two — not one — high tides every day. It is far more likely that tides were given us by an Intelligent Creator long ago and they have been with us ever since. In any case, the fact that there are two high tides falsifies gravity. “If the moon lifted up the water, it is evident that near the land, the water would be drawn away and low instead of high tide caused. Again, the velocity and path of the moon are uniform, and it follows that if she exerted any influence on the earth, that influence could only be a uniform influence. But the tides are not uniform. At Port Natal the rise and fall is about 6 feet, while at Beira, about 600 miles up the coast, the rise and fall is 26 feet. This effectually settles the matter that the moon has no influence on the tides. Tides are caused by the gentle and gradual rise and fall of the earth on the bosom of the mighty deep. In inland lakes, there are no tides; which also proves that the moon cannot attract either the earth or water to cause tides. But the fact that the basin of the lake is on the earth which rests on the waters of the deep shows that no tides are possible, as the waters of the lakes together with the earth rise and fall, and thus the tides at the coast are caused; while there are no tides on waters unconnected with the sea” (Zetetic Cosmogeny, 130-131) The tides are clearly a product of the inter-connected ocean waters (and NOT the other waters of Earth) and therefore caused either by “the gentle rocking of the Earth on the great deep” as stated by the above 19th century authors OR if more ancient explorers can be trusted, the ocean tides very well may be caused by a huge whirlpool vortex surrounding Mount Meru at the North Pole which reverses direction every 6 hours alternately sucking in and pushing out the great seas of Earth, like the breath of Gaia at the naval center-point of Earth breathing in and out twice per day. The 14th century writings Inventio Fortunata by Nicholas de Linna and The Itinerium of Jacobus Cnoyen mention the magnetic mountain being so powerful that it pulled the nails right out of explorer’s boats! The encircling whirlpool and four directional rivers surrounding the mountain were said to change every 6 hours causing the tides, comparing them to the “breath of God” at the “naval of the Earth,” inhaling and exhaling the great seas. The cartographer Gerardus Mercator’s 16th century map below informs us that the waters of the oceans are carried northward to the Pole through these rivers with great force, such that no wind could make a ship sail against the current. We always see the same side of the moon as it does not rotate but osculates as seen here: Moon Libration. Libration is an oscillating motion. There is a slight variation of the Moon's visual size. In fact, the Moon is largely transparent and completely selfluminescent, shining with its own unique light,

stated in Genesis 1. The Sun’s light is golden, warm, drying, preservative and antiseptic, while the Moon’s light is silver, cool, damp, putrefying

and

septic. The Sun’s rays decrease the combustion

of a

bonfire, while the Moon’s rays increase combustion. Plant and animal substances exposed to sunlight quickly dry, shrink, coagulate, and lose the tendency to decompose and putrify; grapes and other fruits become solid, partially candied and preserved like raisins, dates, and prunes; animal flesh coagulates, loses its volatile gaseous constituents, becomes firm, dry, and slow to decay. When exposed to moonlight, however, plant and animal substances tend to show symptoms of putrefaction and decay. In full, direct moonlight a thermometer will read lower than another placed in the shade. If the Sun’s light is collected in a large lens and thrown to a focus point it can create significant heat, while the Moon’s light collected similarly creates no heat. In the “Lancet Medical Journal,” from March 14th, 1856, particulars are given of several experiments which proved the Moon’s rays when concentrated can actually reduce the temperature upon a thermometer more than 8 degrees. Reflectors must be flat or concave for light rays to have any angle of incidence; If a reflector’s surface is convex then every ray of light points in a direct line with the radius perpendicular to the surface resulting in no reflection. On a clear night, during a waxing or waning cycle, it is even possible to occasionally see stars directly through the surface of the Moon!

n does not grow brighter facing the sun, as Newtonian theory states. There are several theories about the relative size and distance of the Moon. Many throughout the ages have used sextants and plane trigonometry attempting to make such calculations, usually concluding the Sun and Moon both to be only about 32 miles in diameter and less than a few thousand miles from Earth. “Some Zetetics have estimated the distance of the Moon from Earth, to be about 240 miles” (Tierra Firma, 150).

Lunar Gardening English scientist Francis Bacon discovered that seeds sown in the New Moon grew up hardier than those cultivated at other times. Just as we are influenced by the lunar rhythm, so too is the plant kingdom. The folk wisdom of gardening lore is sound practical guidance, and partly why the Farmer's Almanac is still sold today. The basic rules involve following the Moon phases, acting when the Moon is in fertile, semi-fertile, and barren signs. As a general rule, annuals that flower aboveground do best when planted just after the new Moon, during the increasing light. The little annual seedlings grow quickly with shallow roots. When the light is decreasing, it's time to plant biennials, perennials, and bulb or root plants. These varieties grow wide root systems, and the slowed activity of the waning moon favors stability. Transplant seedlings under a waxing moon; harvest and put up fruits and vegetable under the waning moon. Weed and deal with pests under a

The English lyrics were first written as a poem by Jane Taylor (1783–1824) and published with the title "The Star" in Rhymes for the Nursery by Jane and her sister Ann Taylor (1782–1866) in London in 1806. We first see stars mentioned in Genesis 1 14 Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. 16 Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. 17 God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 So the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

So, What Exactly are Stars? Scripture defines them as heavenly bodies, splendid lamps, placed in the canopy of the sky, to give light, instruction, and blessing to this world of ours, and we may be positively certain that, like the lamps of a city, they are very much smaller than the place they were made to illumine (Terra Firma, 155). Just like the sun and moon, the stars are subservient to the earth, with different degrees of size and brilliancy, numbered and named

by their Creator. Psalms 147:4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

Grades According to Brightness Some stars are bright, some just fairly bright, some are very faint. Just watch the sky tonight and see for yourself how different they are. Now, when you want to find a constellation in the sky, you always pick the bright stars first and then go on the to the fainter ones. That is the easiest way. Stars have “grades” according to their brightness. Those grades are called “magnitudes.” The brightest stars are called “1st magnitude stars.” The fairly bright ones are of 2nd magnitude, then 3rd, then 4th, and the very faint ones are 5th magnitude.

Stars Have Names The brightest stars all have names, like tall buildings or mountaintops. The very bright star in the Herdsman is called Arcturus, and the bright one in the Lion (Leo), Regulus. It's a good idea to remember the names of the brightest stars and it is easy, since they are not many. There are only 15 stars of 1st magnitude in our northern skies. The 1st magnitude stars include in order of their brightness, Sirius; Arcturus; Vega; Capella; Rigel; Procyon; Betelgeuse; Altair; Aldebaran; Antares; Spica; Pollux; Fomalhaut; Deneb; and Regulus. All the names are Latin or Greek or Arabic and that's why some of them sound funny. One star, for instance is called Betelgeuse. You pronounce it like “beetle juice” but it has nothing to do with beetles. It's Arabic and means “giant's shoulder.”

The Constellations There are a total of 88 constellations in the sky. Each constellation has a boundary. CRUX occupies the least area and HYDRA the most. SERPENS is the only constellation that is split between two parts of the sky – on opposite side of OPHIUCHUS. We use the same constellations described by the ancient Greeks, however, most names of the stars are from Arabic. About 5000 stars can be seen with the naked eye. Most people can see stars as faint as magnitude 6.

Polaris, The North Star There is one star that is very important even thought is not one of the 15 brightest, being only 2nd magnitude. It's a famous star, Polaris, the Pole. Now what makes Polaris so important? It is this: Polaris is the ONLY star that never changes it place in the sky. It always stays put while the other stars and constellations are moving.

Polaris is also called the North Star. Why? Because it is always north. When you are looking at Polaris you are facing north, and to your right is east, to your left west, and south is behind you. This is important to know not only for stargazing but for another reason: suppose you lose your way at night. If you can find Polaris, you know your directions right away and a compass becomes unnecessary. Polaris is easy to find in the sky. All you do is look for the Big Dipper and draw a line from the two stars in the bowl and you will locate Polaris. There's no bright star near Polaris so you can't miss it. The two stars in the bowl which point to the Pole Star are called Pointers. No matter how the Dipper stands, high or low, the Pointers always point toward Polaris. And how about all the other stars, which appear to move while Polaris stands still? Well, they seems to go around Polaris in circles. It takes 24 hours, almost, to go around Polaris once. Those near Polaris run smaller circles, those far from it, larger ones. Stars far from Polaris show up above the horizon for a while only. The farther from Polaris they are the shorter is the time they are above the horizon. When a star comes up above the horizon we say it rises. When it goes down, we say it sets. Like the sun and moon, the stars rise in the east and set in the west. Most stars and constellations rise and set. They may be high or low in the sky, but they never rise or set, and we can see them at all times. The Big Dipper is one of the them.

The Mazzaroth and Zodiac

The zodiac is part of the sky where we can see the 'wandering stars.' It is a sort of belt going around the sky, made up of twelve constellations. These are the names of the 12 zodiac constellations: Ram; Bull; Twins; Crab; Lion; Virgin; Scales; Scorpion; Archer; Goat; Water Carrier; and Fishes. When we look up we see the clock, God's created a timepiece as presented in the sky! The sun tells us what time is is, the moon tells us what day it is, and the stars tell us what month it is. The heavenly dance has played out for centuries. Hints have been recorded in God's word for our edification and discovery. It's a celestial performance created just for our viewing pleasure.

1. Virgo – The virgin holding a branch and an ear of corn; the promised seed of the woman. 2. Libra – The scales; the price deficient balanced by the price that covers. 3. Scorpio – The scorpion; the attack of the enemy; the redeemer's conflict. 4. Sagittarius – The archer; the gracious one; the redeemer's triumph. 5. Capricornus – The sea goat; the goat of atonement slain for the redeemed. 6. Aquarius – The water bearer; the living waters of blessing poured forth for the redeemed. 7. Pisces – The fishes; the multitudes who will follow; the blessings of the redeemed. 8. Aries – The ram or lamb; wounded and slain, the blessings of the redeemed consummated. 9. Taurus – The bull; the congregation of the judge; the coming judge of all the earth. 10. Gemini – The twins; two natures; the reign of the prince of peace.

11. Cancer – The crab; assembled together; the redeemer's possessions held fast. 12. Leo – The Lion of the tribe of Judah; the consummated triumph of the redeemer in the end. The central section of the Beit Alpha contains the zodiac, which was widely used in churches and synagogues during the Byzantine period. The twelve signs are in a circle with their Hebrew names, with the four seasons in the corners. The zodiac was a common decoration in synagogues during this time period. Interestingly, neither the pictures of the winged women in the corners nor the sun god helios with his chariot are Jewish symbols, and are rarely seen in synagogue mosaics; it is clear that the Jews of Beit Alpha were influenced by the Christian and Byzantine cultures. The Zodiac

The word Zodiac itself is of Greek origin, zōidiakòs kýklos (ζῳδιακὸς κύκλος) which is not from ζάω, to live, but form a primitive root through the Hebrew Sodi, which in Sanscrit means a way. Its etymology has no connection with living creatures, but denotes a way, or step, and is used of the way or path in which the sun appears to move amongst the stars in the course of the year. The signs have always and everywhere been preserved in this order, and have begun with ARIES. They have been known amongst all nations, and in all ages, thus proving their common origin from the source. The figures themselves are perfectly arbitrary. There is nothing in the groups of stars to even suggest the figures. This is the first thing which is noticed by everyone who looks at the constellations. The picture, therefore, is the original, and must have been drawn around or connected with certain stars, simply in order that it might be identified and associated with them; and that it might thus be remember and handed down to posterity. There can be no doubt, as the learned Authoress of Mazzaroth conclusively proves, that these signs were afterwards identified with the 12 sons of Jacob. Joseph see the sun and moon and 11 stars bowing down to him, he himself being the 12th. Genesis 37:9 (NIV) Then he had another dream, and he told it to his brothers. "Listen," he said, "I had another dream, and this time the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me." These pictures were designed to preserve, expound, and perpetuate the one first great promise and prophecy of Genesis 3:15 'And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” These ancient star-pictures reveal this Coming One. They set forth “the sufferings of Christ and the glory that should follow.” Altogether there are 48 of the, made up of 12 signs, each sign containing three constellations. The Stars Have a Schedule Nobody can tell the weather far in advance. Even the best weatherman can't tell if it's going to rain or shine a week from next Tuesday.

With the stars it is different. We can always tell in advance exactly what stars are going to be in the sky, not only weeks from now, but at any time: any hour of any night or any month of any year. We can do this because the stars have a schedule that is more reliable than any train schedule in the world, and as regular as clockwork. If we know about this schedule, it helps us understand why we can see some stars or constellations at some times of the year and why we can't at other times. Fortunately, the star schedule is very simple. So simple that it can be put in one sentence: A star – any star – rise and sets about four minutes early every day than it did the day before. That's all! It sounds easy, you say, but why bother about those 4 minutes? What difference does it make? Well, those 4 minutes make a lot of difference because they add up. In a week, it's 7 times 4 minutes – 28 minutes. That is almost half an hour, and in a month it makes 30 times 4 minutes. That's 120 minutes, or 2 full hours. So we can also put the schedule this way: every day the stars rise and set two hours earlier than they did a month ago. This means that after two months they rise four hours earlier, after six months, twelve hours earlier; and after twelve months, 24 hours earlier. Any child can figure this out. Twelve months is a year, and 24 hours is one full day, so after one year the same stars rise again at the same time as they did a year ago, and we are back where we started. Let us take an example, the star Sirius for instance, and follow it through a year. On January 1, Sirius rises about 7:00 in the evening and sets about 3:00 in the morning. You can see it all the time if you stay up. Here is it's schedule as

Thus a year is over and we are back where we started. What goes for Sirius goes for other stars too, and not only for their rising and setting. We can put it this way: whenever you see a star or a constellation in the sky – high up, low down, anywhere – you will see it in exactly the same place two hours earlier a month later, provided, of course, that it won't be day-time then so that you can't see the stars.

The Wanderers There are eight of them: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. The first

five of them you can see in the sky without a telescope. The chances are that you have often seen one or the other but did not realize you were looking at one. You probably thought it was just another star. For the wanderers, they look like stars, but they are not stars like the others in the sky. What's the difference between wanderers and stars that fill the night sky? Let's find out. Stars do not change their position in the sky in relation to each other, for thousands of years; that is why they are called “fixed stars.” This is a misleading definition, for they like the others, all circle in the faultless order round the heavens. The constellations are made up of “fixed” stars only, and move across the sky in a body like planes in formation. The wanderers are different. Compared to “fixed” stars they move throughout the night sky. Over weeks and months or even years you see them slowly wander from one constellation of the zodiac to the next. They have no fixed place in the sky in relation to the stars. Few people can tell one star from another. Most of us can tell an oak from a maple or a jay from a woodpecker even though we don't see woodpeckers often, but the stars, which we see any clear night, remain a mystery to us. Yet it is not difficult to know them. Simple shepherds 5,000 years ago were familiar with the heavens; they knew the stars and constellations – so why don't you? It is good to know the stars, if only to enjoy better the wonderful sight of the starry sky. (Find the Constellations 2nd Ed. By: H. A. Rey) The stars, according to Enoch (a synchronized, Biblically-endorsed, extra-Biblical text) have set courses and portals in the dome through which they are to come and go as well. 1 Enoch 18 12 And beyond that abyss I saw a place which had no firmament of the heaven above, and no firmly founded earth beneath it: there was no water upon it, and no birds, but it was a waste and horrible place. 13 I saw there seven stars like great burning mountains, and to me, when I inquired regarding them, 14 The angel said: 'This place is the end of heaven and earth: this has become a prison for the stars and the host of heaven. 15 And the stars which roll over the fire are they which have transgressed the commandment of the Lord in the beginning of their rising, because they did not come forth at their appointed times. 16 And He was wroth with them, and bound them till the time when their guilt should be consummated (even) for ten thousand years. This depicts the stars as intelligent beings that have been commanded what to do. Those that have disobeyed are punished. According to 1 Enoch 20:4, the angel Raguel is the one who acts as sort of a policeman of the stars: “Raguel, one of the holy angels who takes vengeance on the world of the luminaries.” In the Book of Enoch we see that the stars are to follow specific courses and not deviate from them. If they do, they are punished for violating YHWH's commandment concerning their "circuit" in the heavens. Indeed, the stars, like the sun and moon, also have portals through which they are to come and

go. (Testing the Globe, Rob Skiba; Part 7, Enoch and the still flat earth) As we read earlier, the signs represent the gospel in the stars. So if the signs, created by angels, were to up and decide not to show up for duty, then humanity wouldn't have a reference to the redemption story displayed for all to see and the things which were created for signs and seasons would cease to exist.

Star of Bethlehem A miraculous sign given to man was when God placed a star in the sky over the city of Bethlehem indicating the Savior had come. When wise men from a distant land saw the star, they use the star to navigate their travels to Bethlehem to see and worship Jesus. Matthew 2: 9-11 They went their way; and the star, which they had seen in the east, went on before them until it came and stood over the place where the Child was. When they saw the start, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. After coming into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell to the ground and worshiped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Astrology & Mythology (supplemental information) Mercury: synonymous with the Greek god Hermes, creator of the alphabet, musical scales, astronomy, magic, and alchemy (112) Venus: in ancient Greece she was Aphrodite, created out of the womb of the ocean, linking her to fertility. As Venus she rules romantic love, passion, artistry, friendship, and pleasure. The mythological goddess was swayed by her passions and had many affairs, notably with Mars, the lusty god of war. (122) Mars: the Greeks knew him first as Ares, a brutal deity who was fearsome but not necessarily admired. He evolved into the Roman Mars, god of war and agriculture (132) Jupiter: the mythic Jupiter has always been seen as a kindly father, pointing humanity toward its highest potential. The Greeks linked this visible star with Zeus, the king of the gods, and honored him as “light-bringer.” The Romans later called on Jupiter to preside over religion, government, and philosophy. Jupiter is associated with divination and astrology and was often depicted as the wise sage in the center of the zodiac in ancient Greece and Rome. (142-143) Saturn: it's mythic correlation is to the Greek god Kronos, a father time figure with sickle and long beard. The ancients knew Saturn as the Greater Malefic, a bringer of misfortune and lack. (160) Neptune: it's mythical counterpart is the Greek god Poseidon, lord of the sea. Neptune is the mass mesmerizer; it's in shared imagination of movies, fashion, and celebrities that absorb our attention. As a tool for Neptunian images, television, also knows as tell-a-vision, has blurred the lines between fiction and truth, fantasy, and reality. Neptune is about illusion and disillusion, a time of grand illusion, when

technologies like CGI and holographic images play tricks on our perception of reality. (162) Pluto: the Greeks knew him as Hades, the Lord of the Underworld, who took mortals down for an ordeal that was also an initiation. According to astrology, Pluto's journey through Capricorn, which will continue into 2023, is exposing the power of the greed in our institutions. Capricorn rules big business, government, and patriarchal authority. Pluto in Capricorn will likely bring “resource wars” over the Earth's basics—water, soil, air, food. It will expose the criminal underworld of government, business, and the wealthy elite. Pluto finds what's hidden, an is exposing the underworld of finance and government. As the secret seeker, Pluto's probing eye will home in on things like shadow governments, financiers of terror, and back-room deals. Since Pluto's controlling excesses are associated with fascism, we have to be willing to face the scourge of runaway global corporate power. Pluto asks us to have the courage to “follow the money.” Eventually, those who have sold their souls for material riches will be brought down. Politicians that have become corrupted will also fall. The saving grace of Pluto's unforgiving nature is that it wrests power from evildoers in time. They can run, but they can't hid from Pluto. The attempted control of the Earth and its processes will be exposed, including weather modification programs. Saturn In the ancient mysteries Saturn (or Satan) was represented as the Tester, and tried the person's endurance until he grew strong enough, as a soul to withstand the demands of the personality. Saturn's job is to destroy the old, the outworn forms in order to build a better structure on a higher level. In Hindu astrology, Saturn is related to the god, Shiva, the destroyer.

Some of the stars that will fall upon Earth to hurt, as described in the Bible, though not destroy it, but is destruction would be inevitable were they of such enormous magnitude as our Astronomers declare them to be. Revelation 8 10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; 11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. 12 And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise. Angels as Stars Job 38 4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. 5 Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? 6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; 7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? Singing stars during the Creation account? The "sons of God" of Job 38:7 are the same as the "sons of God" in Genesis 6:4. They are angels! The Apostle John makes note of an angel as a star. Revelation 9:1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. People even began to worship the stars as god-like, sentient beings.

Remphan Originally, Satan was nothing other than the planet Saturn in an astrological quality. It was the Egyptian Set, the Egyptian God known as Set, which represented Satan or Saturn; the Persians, instead of calling it Saturn or set, called the wandering star, Satan, and personified the it as though it were a person. This Awareness indicates that the Persians were the first to invent the personification of that which was called Satan. Later, the time being in approximately the mid part of the Christian Age, Western mystics, in studying various religions, latched on to the Persian teachings of Satan and brought into the Christian religion. Prior to that there was no Satan. This Awareness indicates that it then led to modification in the biblical texts, and let to various types of change in the scriptures and attitudes and terminologies used in the teachings, so that instead of Saturn or Set, the terms for Satan became as though the entity were a person; that in this manner, a force was personified. This Awareness indicates that the personification of this force in modern times is such that entities are treating this personification, this creation, as though it were a real being, and are worshiping this force. Source Remphan: the most reasonable opinion seems to be that Chiun was a Hebrew or Semitic name, and Remphan an Egyptian equivalent substituted by the LXX. This idol corresponded probably to Saturn or Molech. The mention of Chiun or Remphan as worshipped in the desert shows that this idolatry was, in part at least that of foreigners, and no doubt of those settled in lower Egypt. But the "hosts of heaven" is also frequently used as a reference to the stars. Could there

Again, all through the Scriptures, we see references to the armies of Heaven as "the hosts of heaven" and as YHWH being the "Lord of hosts" and such. Could it then literally be the "hosts of heaven" - the billions of stars we see up there in the dome - that are coming with Him?

Lesson 5 Earth Earth is not the 3rd rock from sun as modern astronomers claim. The Earth is a vast and generally even platform, stretched out upon the waters, for, according to the infallible Word of God, it is “founded upon the seas, and established upon the floods” Psalms 24:2. In the creation account, God took five times as long to make the Earth as He did the heavenly bodies. We live in the only world recognized in the Scriptures as the Bible gives not the slightest hint that there exists other created worlds. Our Earth is unique and the center of all creation. We are of extreme importance, created beings from a loving Creator.

Why is the Sky Blue?

The heavens themselves are the pavement of God’s palace, and His throne is above the firmament. Exodus 24:9,10 Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and the seventy elders of Israel went up, and they saw the God of Israel. Under his feet there was something like a pavement made of sapphire, clear like the sky itself. Ezekiel 1:26 And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it." Ezekiel 10:1 Then I looked, and, behold, in the firmament that was above the head of the cherubims there appeared over them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne. Revelation 4:6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.

Distance to the Firmament (raqia) According to this site, the heavens appear closer to earth. Do we have any visual clue that the heaven really meets the earth at the earth’s perimeter known as Antarctica? People have reported that the sky looks much nearer in New Zealand than in Europe. Certainly, the sky doesn't look like this in Europe. The reason is the dome which ends in Antarctica, thus in New Zealand, the stars, moon and the sky do not look nearer, but ARE nearer. While I don't feel competent to decide what the exact distance the firmament is from Earth, Samuel Rowbotham stated “the method of measuring distances [using a sextant and triangulation] applies equally to the moon and stars; and it's easy to demonstrate, to place it beyond the possibility of error, so long as assumed precises are excluded, that the moon is nearer to the earth than the sun, and all the visible luminaries in the firmament are contained within a vertical distance of 1000 statute miles” (80). Operation Fishbowl and Realization of “The Dome” Admiral Byrd was one of the most respected explorers in our history. He was quite literally the Indiana Jones of his time. He led missions to the north and the South pole. Having found nothing much of interest at the north pole, other than ocean 10,000 ft deep, and mountains 10,000 ft high on the south pole. The admiral took 3 journeys to Antarctica, the last one being on a military ship with all sorts of military gear and vehicles to go to a frozen wasteland. Why military vehicles and supplies? What was there that required a bunch of battleships and military if it was just a resource rich place that was being used for science. Is Antarctica a place where it is possible to reach the surface of our planet? In a TV interview toward the end of his life, Admiral Byrd talked about that Antarctica was rich in resources which he believed to be the new Frontier and that he didn’t expect it to be peaceful for long, namely because it was so rich in resources. Well, as we know, soon after, the The Antarctic Treaty was signed. The Antarctic Treaty was signed in Washington on 1 December 1959 by the twelve countries whose scientists had been active in and around Antarctica during the International Geophysical Year (IGY) of 1957-58. It entered into force in 1961 and has since been acceded to by many other nations. Johnston Island, Johnston Atoll, 1962 Something was discovered in Antarctica which lead scientists to some realization. Perhaps the realization of the “glass sky”, because the next move by the military was the direct assault on the sky spheres with the most powerful nuclear weapons available to mankind. The Sky is Literally Falling Did we race to build a “nuke” in the 40’s and 50’s because we were anxious to break through the dome we knew was in the sky? Firmament Impenetrable Nothing can penetrate the firmament

above as noted with operation fishbowl, as their rockets were unable to breach the firmament above. While the actual thickness of the Earth is unknown, no drill can penetrate 12km below the earth as noted with Kola Superdeep Borehole, the deepest hole on earth. The project attempted to drill as deep as possible into the Earth's crust. Between 1979 and 1992, the project was only able to drill to 12,262 m (40,230 ft). In this video Underwater Lake: Ocean Floor, it quite possibly be describing the firmament below. “Van Allen Radiation Belts” As the first significant discovery of the space age, the Van Allen radiation belts were detected in 1958 by Professor James Van Allen and his team at the University of Iowa, not long after Admiral Byrd's Antarctic exploration. Operation Fishbowl commenced in 1962. In this article, Star Trek-like invisible shield found thousands of miles above Earth, it explains how scientists have discovered an invisible shield above Earth. The article appeared in the Nov. 27, 2014 issue of Nature. Could it be describing the firmament? The Engineers at NASA are working on a project, Orion Space Exploration Craft, who admit they still haven't worked out how to properly shield the spacecraft from the radiation emitted from the Van Allen belts.

Firmament Phenomena Sprites These fleeting flashes that shoot upwards from thunderclouds are known as sprites. Only discovered in 1989, sprites have eluded capture because they exist for a mere split-second—40-times faster than an eye blink. Storm Chasing in a Jet - Capturing Upper-atmospheric Lightning follows a team of scientists and captures these rare atmospheric phenomena. Sprites appear as luminous reddish-orange flashes. They often occur in clusters within atmosphere above the troposphere at an altitude range of 50–90 km (31–56 mi). These appear to be hitting what looks to be the firmament. Thunder What is thunder? Bottom line, the science community doesn't know. There have been quite a few theories including the first recorded theory attributed to the Greek philosopher Aristotle in the fourth century BC. The speculation was that it was caused by the collision of clouds. This has been the taught as fact and never as a theory. An echo is causes by sound waves hitting a barrier and then

bouncing off. Could it be that when thunder echos, it's bouncing off the firmament or dome. Something to ponder... You cannot create a rainbow indoors, there's a stipulation as Jesse Spots explains in this video. You can create a rainbow indoors, but you need a mirror. You need a mirror to perform a science test to create a rainbow inside. If you need a mirror indoors, what's providing the mirror outdoors?

Antarctica: The Ends of the Earth Job 38:11 (ISV) and said, 'You may come only this far and no more. Your majestic waves will stop here.'? Antarctica literally surrounds us 360 degrees, encircles every continent, and acts as a barrier holding in the oceans. What Does the Earth Look Like? While Scripture describes a terrarium-like Earth, the first man to reach the stratosphere at 52,000 feet, Auguste Piccard, a physicist and explorer described the shape of Earth in Popular Science 1931, “It seemed a flat disk with an upturned edge. At the

10 mile mark, the sky appeared a deep dark blue.” There are numerous high-altitude balloon video footage on youtube, but for certain you'll never hear a modern-day scientist describe the Earth as Dr. Piccard after his gondola ride to the stratosphere reaching 52000 feet.

Models of Earth Throughout History The "under the dome" view of the earth was not foreign to the ancients. Many ancient cultures had some variation of this general view of the earth. In ancient Egypt, their god "Nut" was depicted as the canopy. In Norse mythology "nine homeworlds" or "nine realms", unified by the world tree Yggdrasil or ash tree. In Hindu, Brahma, the creator, and the mytheme of a giant turtle or tortoise supporting or containing the world occurs in Hindu, Chinese, and in Native American mythology. In Hindu mythology, the god Vishnu took the form of a turtle to carry the world on his back. Hindu mythology has various account of World Tortoises, besides a World Serpent (Shesha), Kurmaraja and world-elephants. The most widespread name given to the tortoise is Kurma or Kurmaraja. The Shatapatha Brahmana identifies the earth as its lower shell, the atmosphere as its body and the vault of heaven as its upper shell. In China, the turtle with its rounded shell and square-shaped body reminded ancient people of the concept of “round heaven and square earth.” Origin of Creation Stories The Mayans conceived of the earth as a flat and four cornered, each angle at a cardinal point which had a color value. Red for east, white for north, black for west, and yellow for south.

The world of the Maya is composed of three layers: the upper starry arch of heaven (represented by a giant crocodilian monster); the stone middle-world of the human earth; the underworld below. The three worlds are interrelated and joined by the “tree of life.” The underworld, sometimes called Xibalba (She-bal’-bah), is in no way like the Christian idea of hell. South was yellow and was considered to be the right-hand or great side of the sun. In the Maya conception, east, not north, should always be at the top of maps. The king of the Inca believed he was the son of the sun, and the cosmos was centered on the Sun Temple at Cuzco, Peru. In one origin myth the Inca people came from three caves; in another myth they arose from Lake Titicaca. The straight red lines are ceques, symbolizing connections to sacred places. The major ceques formed borders of the four-quarted Inca world. The Milky Way blended into the underworld and brought dark, fertile mud to the sky upon its return, which formed patches that resemble animals, like the snake (at top) toad, tinamou bird, mother and baby llama, fox and a second tinamou. The sun is portrayed as a male god, and the moon as a female. The Navajo Cosmos was portrayed as a sand painting, the world view of Diné— “the people,” as Navajo referred to themselves, centering on the family hogan. The first hogan was built in the place the ancestors emerged, and traveled through three previous words before arising from a hollow reed into this “glittering” place. The four quarters of the world is characterized with color, holy mountain, time of day, and a sacred person. The rainbow god is a guardian, and the sky sparkles with constellations (the Milky Way) symbolized by a band of crosses. Young warriors carry the blue sun and white moon.
