Manual Planning Overview Manual well planning is essentially the manipulation of right-angle triangles to compare differences in Displacement & TVD to place each point in the wellbore.

The Tips are designed to help you determine which points you need to connect to build the correct triangles to find the solution to the problem. 3 IF. 10/23/2009

A line needs to be drawn between the target and the Center of Radius of Curvature.

This can also be triangulated by comparing the Displacement and TVD the other way However these angles don’t add up to either 90 ° or 180° making the calculation more difficult 11 IF. 10/23/2009
