Schedules, assigns, plans and monitors the work of electrical shop personnel performing a variety of electrical projects. Plans and develops work schedules, equipment usage schedules, priority of electrical expenditures and procedures for equipment and appliance maintenance. Reviews plans for future buildings and inspects new buildings to ensure compatibility with existing electrical codes and maintenance standards. Monitors the acquisition and use of materials. Maintains time, payroll, work order, material, equipment and other electrical shop records and submits reports. Trains or informs employees of new work methods or procedures, changes in safety regulations, work policies and electrical codes and standards. Ensures budgeting guidelines are met; prioritizes shop expenditures to stay within budget and assists in preparation of capital and operations budgets. Ensure that all commissioning staff are suitably qualified and experienced with regards to the activities they perform. Contribute to integrated safety when reviewing or producing engineering designs. Contribute to maintenance of commissioning standards. Use best practice in commissioning project and services. Maintain effective working relationships with other authorities/disciplines. Support knowledge base development in commissioning. Represent the Design Authority on small and medium and large size projects carried out by contractors or other departments. Ensure Commissioning is properly organized and proceeds in a structured, safe manner. Ensure a commissioning programme is produced which follows a logical sequence of events. Ensure the commissioning follows the agreed procedures. Ensure the commissioning organization set up is sufficient to carry out the testing. Ensure the commissioning procedures are adequate for testing and meet the format, or similar, as given on the Project Delivery Process Map. Ensure the procedures test all the equipment to the agreed performance of the Project Specification. Ensure any reservations are raised and cleared if possible, or concessions to performance are agreed and documented. Ensure operator training is carried out, operating instructions and maintenance instructions are written. Assist with commissioning projects at site in support of facilities. Take responsibility for the commissioning of small and medium and large size projects. Advise on commissioning requirements to projects on site. Act as the focal point for commissioning of allocated projects, to liaise with all stakeholders and provide support as necessary to ensure a successful commissioning phase. Qualification: BE / B. Tech. Good interpersonal, communication. Ability to lead, manage and motivate staff. Extensive Knowledge and experience of the commissioning building service equipment.
