The transformers operate at ambient standard temperatures of max. +40ºC and min. -35ºC. Max. installation standard altitude above the sea level: 1000 m.

The transformers operate at ambient temperatures of .max.+ 50ºC and at altitude higher than 1000m are available at request. GENERAL TECHNICAL SPECIFIC FEATURES

Operating frequency: 50 Hz Operating voltage on the HV side: 110 (132);220 (230);400 (420) kV Operating voltage on the LV side: 6.3(6.9); 10.5(11); 13.8(15) kV Operating voltage on the MV side: 20 (33) kV Taping range on the HV: ± 2 x 2.5%; ± 12 x 1%; ± 17 x 1.25% Cooling type: ONAN; ONAN / ONAF; OFAF. Rated continuous power: 1 MVA ÷ 400 MVA TYPE The transformer shall be a 50-Hz outdoor type three-phase unit with ON –Load Tap Changer. The external cooling medium: air. The insulation is graded for operation with effectively earthed neutral. GENERAL The transformer is suitable for continuous operation on a three-phase 50Hz high voltage transmission system as specified. All windings of the transformers are capable of withstanding short circuit for the periods of time specified in IEC 60076 when operating on any tapping position. The transformer is suitable for cyclic overloading and long-time emergency loading duties in accordance IEC 60354. Ratings are based on the average winding temperature rise, as measured by resistance, of 55ºC and the top oil temperature rise, as measured by thermometer, of 50ºC. With the cooling air maximum temperature of 50ºC.

The design and manufacture of the transformers is such that the noise level is minimum and that the level of vibration does not adversely affect any clamping or produce excessive stress in any material. Noises levels shall are in accordance with IEC 60551. The maximum acceptable level is 88 dB in conformity with NEMA std.TR-1. MAGNETIC CIRCUITS The core is “core” type, with 3 parallel legs, made of high grade, non-aging electrical cold rolled grain oriented silicous steel laminations loss and high permeability. The yokes and legs are securely held by means of synthetic resin impregnated glassfiber strips. The core is clamped both at the top and bottom by means of clamping structures of steel. The structure placed on the same side are stiffened between each other by means of tie rods made of nonmagnetic alloy. The structures on the HV and LV sides are clamped between each other by means of clamping frameworks. The live part(core winding) is centered on the tank bottom by means of four guinding cones. Within the construction described above, the live part movement during shipping and installation or while in service is fully avoided. Particular care is taken to secure even mechanical pressure over the whole of the core laminations. Under steady overvoltage condition the maximum flux density not exceed 1,9 Tesla and the magnetizing current not exceed 5 % of the rated load current at normal rated voltage. WINDINGS. The winding are circular coil concentrically type. The windings shall be formed using high quality electrolytic copper conductor, insulated with pure cellulose paper. The main insulation between windings is of the multi-duct type with cylinders made of high dielectric strength transformer pressboard. The windings and connections are braced to withstand shocks, which may occur during transport or due to switching or other transient conditions during service.

INTERNAL EARTHING ARRANGEMENT. The magnetic circuit is earthed to the clamping structure at one point only through a removable link with a captive bolt and nut accessible placed beneath an inspection opening in the tank cover. TANK AND COVER. Transformer tank is made of electrically welded steel sheets and designed to allow the complete transformer, when arranged for transport to be lifted by crane and transported without transformer parts stressed. The plate thickness for the tank sides is of 10 mm. The cover is clamped to the tank, by screw fastening. The tank is provided with lugs, boses and hooks to enable the transformer, complete with all tank mounted accessories and filled with oil, to be lifted by powerhouse crane and pulling the transformer in 2 orthogonal directions. The wheels are suitable for a standard track (1.435 metre between inside of rail heads) for moving the transformer in 2 orthogonal directions. Four jacking pads are provided on the tank to enable the transformer, complete with oil, bushings and fittings,to be raised or lowered by jacks. Means are provided for locking the swivel movement in positions parallel to and at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the tank. The wheel loading does not exceed 13,000 kg . Tank covers shall not permanently distort when lifted. Inspection openings of ample size shall be provided to give easy access to bushings for changing ratio, or winding connections, and for testing the earth connections. The tank cover is fitted with a thermometer pocket, with captive screw cap, located in the position of maximum oil temperature at continuous maximum rating. Facility the bushing remove without removing the tank cover. A pressure relief device is provided for the rapid release of any pressure that may be generated within the the tank. The device operates at a static pressure of less than the hydraulic test pressure for transformer tanks and prevents further oil flow from the transformer following its operation. In the event that the device is a spring operated valve type it shall be provided with one set of normally open contacts, which will be used for tripping purposes.

OIL / AIR BUSHINGS. Oil/air bushings are designed in accordance with the requirements of IEC 60137. The HV bushings are of 145 kV condenser type; the HV neutral bushing is suitable for 72.5 kV level of condenser type; the LV bushings are suitable for min.12.5 kV level. The visible oil levels in the gauge corresponds to average oil temperatures from the minimum ambient stated in the SYSTEM PERFORMANCES to plus 90ºC. The oil levels at 15ºC and 35ºC are marked. Neutral bushings shall be mounted in position from which a connection can be made to a neutral current transformer mounted on a bracket secured to the tank. The neutral current transformer is not be in transformer manufacture standard supply.

CONSERVATOR VESSELS, OIL LEVEL GAUGES AND BREATHERS. The conservator has a level gauge, a filling cap, an adequate sump. The conservator is provided with a removable end cover at the one end. The visible oil levels in the gauge shall correspond to average oil temperatures from the minimum ambient stated in the SYSTEM PERFORMANCES in Annex no.1 to plus 90ºC. The oil levels at 15ºC and 35ºC are marked on the gauge. The oil level gauge incorporates alarm contacts, which close when the oil level falls below a definite level. The conservator is connected to a dehumidifying breather, which is mounted at approximately 1,4 m above ground level.

VALVES Valves are of the fully-way type. Padlocks are provided for locking all valves(exception for the individual radiator valves) in the open and closed positions. The valves are with an indicator readily visible from ground level which shows clearly the position of the valve. All valves hand-wheels are provided with nameplates.

COOLING PLANT Transformer has ONAN/ONAF cooling options. The facilities are provided at the marshaling kiosk or cubicle for the selection Automatic or Manual control of the cooling plant motors. Transformers shall be fitted with sectionalized cooling banks necessary to meet the continuous maximum rating (CMR). Transformers shall be capable of remaining in operation at full load for 20 minutes in event of failure of the cooling fans without the calculated winding hot spot temperature exceeding 150ºC. Failure of one fan in each group of fans does not reduce the continuous maximum rating of the transformer. The fan complete with its motor and supporting structure can be removed without disturbing or dismantling the cooler framework or pipe - work. COOLER CONTROL. The forced air cooling is controlled for automatic starting or stopping from contacts on the winding temperature indicating devices. ON-LOAD TAP CHANGING-OLTC- EQUIPMENT. The transformer is provided with OLTC suitable for the rated current(+20% overload) of modern design and construction of MR Type from Germany with 17 tapping positions x 1.25% in range of +10% -10% ; with fully capacitance at all taps. Tap changing is prevented when the transformer is caring a load above a predetermined maximum or when on short circuit. Tap changing however is suitably rated for operation when transformer are subjected to overload duties in accordance with IEC 60354. The equipment has an indication at the transformer and electrically at the remote control points of the tapping in use. AUTOMATE VOLTAGE REGULATOR AND TAPPING INDICATOR. The Automate Voltage Regulator is included in the offer; the regulator actuates to the motor of the OLTC. The Actual Voltage measurement is taken from existing Instrument Transformers of the Substation. The instrument transformer will be provided in the delivery by request. An Indicator device of the tapping positions for the Control Room is included in the Offer.

TEMPERATURE INDICATING DEVICES, ALARMS AND GAS AND OIL ACTUATED RELAYS. 1. TEMPERATURE INDICATING DEVICES, ALARMS Oil temperature indicating devices are fitted with alarm and trip contacts. Winding temperature indicating devices indicate the temperature of the hottest spot of the winding and have a load –temperature characteristic approximating to that of the main winding. Alarm and trip contacts are provided. Alarm contacts of oil and winding temperature indicating devices are adjustable over a range of 60ºC to 110ºC and trip contacts adjustable over a range 80ºC to 150ºC. Temperature indicating devices incorporate a dial and a pointer indicator and a separate pointer to register the maximum temperature reached. All temperature indicators are housed in the marshalling kiosk or cabinet and are not affected by vibration. 2. GAS AND OIL ACTUATED RELAYS. Gas and oil actuated relays are fitted to each tap selector compartment. They have alarm contacts that close on collection of gas or at low oil level and tripping contacts, which close following an oil surge.

The relays are fitted in the expansion pipe connecting the transformer tank to the conservator. OIL FLOW INDICATORS. Forced oil cooled transformers shall be provided with a visual oil indicator including contacts, in each outlet pipe connection from coolers. OIL QUALITY.

Uninhibited new insulating mineral oil for transformers type NITRO by NYNAS-Austrian manufacture which assures a safe transformer energizing at a temperature -30ºC. The U-30ºC transformer insulating mineral oil is used as an insulating and cooling environment in high-power transformers.

It can be used in warm(tropical) and mild climate countries, for altitudes up to 1500 m. The technical and quality conditions according to EN 60 296/2004.

One oil container with 5% from oil quantity in the main body(tank)of the transformer is recommended and it is delivered by client request on extra cost. TRANSFORMER MARSHALLING KIOSK. A weatheproof and dustproof control housing located on the transformer near the base. It is equipped with the following: (a)Earth bus for circuits requiring earth points. The bus includes one bolted type connectors of 10 mm2 stranded copper cable size for each earthed circuit. (b)Terminal blocks for termination of secondary leads, alarm, control, relay and thermocouple leads. (c)A suitable pocket or holder inside for one copy of the instruction manual. (d)A plain, removable plate located in the bottom for terminating all conduits leaving the transformer (the plate will be drilled in the field). (e)Contactors for fan motors. (f)Necessary glands for power and control cables (g)Thermostatically controlled, anti-condensation heater for 220V,single – phase system.
