231) 6 RANDOM NUMBERS-you ask a few spectators to create a 6 digit number by calling out some digits. You then introduce 4 envelopes and inside each one is a 5 digit number. These numbers when totalled, add up to the random 6 digit number created seconds ago. SECRET-this trick is quite easy, it’s basically very similar to a magic square or add a number, where you just fill in some blanks. You ask for single digits and as they call them out you write them down. You pretend to write the 6 digits but what you actually write is another 5 digit number on a slip of paper and then secretly add that to any envelope (held behind envelope-like bank night routine). To the spectators it just appears you are recording the numbers called out (watch your angles, so no one actually views what you are writing). Introduce your envelopes, pour out the contents and have someone add the 4 slips. SETUP-all you do is write these 3 sets of numbers on 3 slips of paper and place them inside the envelopes. Your 4th envelope has nothing inside it (this is where you discreetly pretend there is something inside this envelope, just like the rest.

29472-slip 1 68628-slip 2 13011-slip 3

SLIP 4 is determined by subtracting 1 number from their 6 digit number called, STARTING WITH THE SECOND DIGIT CALLED (disregard the first number called).

The first 3 digits can only be between 100-200 (no zeros allowed-I use uno number cards leaving the zero out). The next 3 digit number can be any numbers from 200-1000. So you could offer them a choice low or high (low number is under 200). They name the digits, you subtract 1 number from the digits called out and write that 5 digit number. Add all the numbers and they will always total to the digits just named. 232) SPOT PREDICTION-you begin by displaying 12 coins in a row and have the spectator freely select any number from 1-12. You then isolate the coin at that number by covering it with a transparent shot glass. They now select any coin for you to use, you take that coin and draw a dot on it with a magic marker. You place that marked coin face down and begin flipping over the remaining coins 1 by 1, showing both sides. Under the glass is the coin they selected and when you turn that coin over, it’s the only coin that has a black dot. Finally you turn your coin over and the black dot has vanished. SECRET-this one is easy, just use a dry/erase marker. If you can, find one that looks like an ordinary marker or switch out the marker sticks (requires dis-assembly of marker). You draw a dot on all the coins and turn them over BEFORE commencing the trick. After they select a coin, you will need to DISCREETLY wipe off the marker dots. You can accomplish this by performing on table cloth, close-up mat, carpeting, etc. Drag the coin ever so slightly to ensure marker dots wipes off. You could also discreetly rub off the dot with your thumb as you turn over the coin.

233) 3 SYMBOL PREDICTIONS-you begin by showing a prediction envelope, which they can hold on to. Next, you show 3 symbol cards (star, wavy lines and a circle) and a regular deck of 52 cards. You can shuffle and cut the cards. You deal the cards face down, one at a time and randomly stop. You then place a symbol card face up on top of the card you stopped on. Drop the remainder of the deck on top of the symbol card, pick up the deck and repeat the exact procedure two additional times. The spectator tells you where to stop. You spread the cards face down, pull out the symbol card and the card they stopped upon and line them up. You turn over the 3 cards face up and reveal they match your prediction. SETUP-you need 3 different symbol cards or 3 colored cards, a prediction envelope with picture of forced cards and their symbols and a regular deck of 52 cards. -first card (ace of spades) goes on bottom of deck, second card (10 of hearts) goes on top and third card goes 8th from the top. The symbol cards go in this order: star-lines-circle. SECRET-begin showing the prediction envelope, then the symbols and then spread the deck of cards face up to show they are all different. Perform a false shuffle n false cut and then demonstrate what you want them to do. -deal down a “random” number of cards (deal 7 cards) and place the star face-up on top of the card you stopped on, drop the remainder of the deck on top (ace now on top of star) and repeat. -this time have them deal the cards and stop when ever they desire and place the next symbol face up on top of the card they stopped on (10 of hearts now on top of wavy lines). -repeat this one last time and then square deck, spread the cards face down and remove the CARD ABOVE the 3 symbols, along with the 3 symbols. Turn the cards over above the 3 symbols, recap the free choice selections and then reveal your prediction. -you can offer them another free choice by providing another out. Print 2 pictures-one that has the lines and circle in order and another picture that has the circle and then lines. Paste the 2 pictures back to back and then slide out on to the appropriate side, depending on how they select. BLIND SIGHT-begin by displaying 3 small envelopes with a different colored sticker on each. Inside the envelopes are 3 coins (pennies) with a matching colored dot. While you are turned away, have the participant put a different colored coin into each of the envelopes, so that no envelope has its matching color. They inform you that they closed the envelopes and have completed the task. You turn towards them, place a matching paperclip (or a small strip of colored paper) on each envelope. They open the envelopes to reveal ALL the coins match your colored paperclip prediction. SETUP; For this effect you will need 3 small opaque envelopes, 3 different colored stickers, 3 matching smaller stickers, 3 matching colored paperclips or colored strips of paper, 1 tiny magnet, 2 regular pennies and 1 magnetic penny. You can find this stuff at a dollar store or office supply store. The steel alloy (magnetic) penny may be located at your favorite magic dealer, I used a Canadian penny, but as of 2012 they have discontinued the penny in Canada.

-you will need to glue the tiny magnet onto your finger and become comfortable with it, so you wont arouse suspicion that its on your finger. I glued mine to my left index finger and displayed the envelopes with my right hand. -place 3 colored stickers on the face of the envelopes and the 3 smaller matching dot stickers onto your 3 pennies. Remember your color of your KEY COIN (magnetic).

TINY MAGNET

SECRET-after they place the coins into the envelopes, simply turn towards them, pick up a paperclip with your right hand, an envelope with your left hand (magnet) and discreetly feel for a magnetic force (pull). When you find the magnetic coin, place the appropriate colored paperclip on to the envelope. If your KEY COIN is red, you would put a red paperclip on which ever envelope contains the red coin. -the remaining 2 envelopes match the remaining 2 paperclips in reverse.

Pick up envelope with LEFT hand (discreetly concealing the MAGNET) and feel for the magnetic pull.

Place the matching paperclip on to the KEY COIN envelope. Then place the remaining paperclips onto the correct envelopes. See how Yellow clip must go on to the red envelope.

MIND SYNC-a deck is shown face up, then the backs are shown to have numbers from 1-52. Two predictions are placed on the table. First participant is asked to name any number they see and that card is place faced down besides first prediction. Second person selects another number and their selection is placed upon the second prediction. The freely selected numbered cards are turned over, which match the two predictions. SETUP-you will need to make a special deck:16 duplicates of 1 card (prediction # 1), another 16 duplicates (matching prediction # 2), and 20 different cards. Put 7 different cards face up, then 16 duplicates, then the other stack of duplicates and lastly the 13 different cards. -turn the deck over and begin writing numbers from 1-52 on the cards (you don’t need to do this, but I like to as you could have the spectators call out their numbers). -place two more cards (matching your two forcing duplicates-with different colored backs) face down on table. SECRET-spread the deck face up (just to the 13th card), turn the deck over to show all the cards have different numbers on their back, 1 through 52. Show a few faces (first 5-6 cards) indicating every card has a different number. Have spec # 1 name a number they see, place that card face up besides your first face down prediction card. Repeat the selection process for spec # 2 (making sure they call a number from second bank of duplicate cards). Turn over the predictions and reveal they match. * BONUS TIP-you could also number the cards even for bank 1 duplicates, odds for second duplicates or low and high. Then you could have them just call out any number from say, 10-25 and second participant 26-40. * IDEA-if you don’t want to ruin your set of cards by writing on them, simple put white stickers on the back of the cards instead. SYMBOLS AROUND THE CLOCK-the performer shows 12 different symbols, which he places down in a round clock formation. He turns away and asks the participant to THINK of any symbol and to place their index finger on that card. This is their symbol to remember. He then asks another spectator to name a number between 10-24. Participant moves that many times (moving 1 symbol at a time) clockwise. Their finger is now on a different symbol. Have them remove the rest of the cards. You turn around and reveal their original thought of symbol. SETUP-this effect is quite simple, you can utilize any letters, words, cards, shapes, pictures, numbers, etc you want to force. Simply write them out on the back of 12 blank backed business cards (you may also use playing cards). Place them in a square (5 on top & bottom and 1 on each side). You will also need a crib sheet of the exact layout of the cards, discreetly hidden. SECRET-this trick is self working and utilizes the clock principle. As soon as a spectator calls out a number, quickly subtract 12 from it and remember that secret number. Look at the symbol the spectator left and match it to your crib sheet. Now count backwards to your secret number, which will be their ORIGINAL symbol.

REVEAL- you could do this effect with playing cards and reveal using an invisible deck or you could do a drawing duplication reveal. EXCEPTION-if they pick a symbol at the 12th position and the number called out is 12 or 24, the participant will end right back where they started. COUNTER-MEASURE-simply demonstrate using the 12th symbol BEFORE the select a symbol. Most people will call out a number higher than 12. Do a partial demonstration, no need to go all the way back to the 12th position. CRAZY 8 PREDICTION-the performer shows 8 cards that are numbered 1 – 8 in no specific order and deals them into two face down piles. He gives the participant a choice of which pile to put on top of the other and deal them into two piles again. This continues until the participant is satisfied the numbers are mixed. He deals 4 piles face down, with each pile having 2 numbers. The participant selects any pile and secretly adds up their two numbers. Looks on a list to find a word next to his number and that word matches your prediction. SETUP-you will need 8 blank cards (index cards, blank backed business cards, etc) a word list with 15 different words and a prediction. This prediction/number force is self working. -number the cards 1-8 and write your list of 15 random words, assign the word MONEY to number 9 or any word you want to force. You will also need to write that force word as your prediction. SECRET-the cards must be in a sequential order , deal them face down, from left to right into 2 equal piles, exhausting all 8 cards. Offer the participant which pile to put on top (it does not matter) and deal the cards again. You can repeat this procedure as many times as you like. Now deal 4 cards face down into 4 piles from left to right and then 4 cards from right to left. You now have 4 piles with 2 cards each. They can pick any pile as any pile when added totals 9. Gather up the rest of the cards to avoid them noticing all the pairs add up to 9. Have them find “their” word from your list and then have them open up the prediction envelope or reveal any way you desire. BONUS IDEA-to disguise the card order when showing the cards for the first time, you may use the following stacks: 86427531 or 78563412 or any combination where the first and last digits add up to 9, second & third digits=9 and so on. 12345678 or 87654321 make it appear the cards are in order from the beginning. You may also want to overhand shuffle ALL the way thru the cards for even more convincer, however this may be overkill. FOOD-A-MENTAL-begin by showing a list of numerous food items, the participant THINKS of one of the items. Next, you place 5 envelopes with the letters A-E on the front and have the participant place their finger one any letter found in their word (done while you are blindfolded or looking away). They move a few times and end up right where you want them, which matches your prediction.

SETUP-you will need 6 envelopes or index cards, a print out of your 20 words, and 5 colored dots. -write letters A-E on the front of your 5 envelopes and place a different colored dot on the back of the 5 envelopes. You may omit the list & just have them THINK of a fruit or vegetable. Just remind them NOT to pick something obvious like a BANANA or PLUM & demonstrate with the word DATE. SECRET-place your list of 20 or so items that contain the letters A,C, E. They can be any words just as long as the words don’t contain a B or D. Words can have 1 or more A,C,E letters. Also have 1 word that has NO A,C,E letters as a quick prediction (if they picked a word that does not have (A,B,C,D,E) letters within it), this will serve the only multiple out. Example: kiwi. -have them think of any word, while you place your 5 envelopes in a row with the letters (A-E) face up. They place their finger on a letter that is found in their word (you are turned away). Turn the cards over so they reveal the 5 colored dots and have them replace their finger on the appropriate dot. Now have them move one position (or 3 positions) left or write. You remove the FIRST card, have them move one position (left or right) again, you remove the SECOND card and have them move one last time. This time you remove the THIRD card as well as the LAST card, leaving the 4th (D) card. This trick is self working. You turn around and reveal that despite all the free choices your prediction matches exactly what color their finger is resting upon. You may have them move 3 positions (L or R) instead of just one.
