REJECTION OF GOD’S LOVE

HAPPENED TO THE WORLD GOD CREATED? WHAT CAUSED THE RADICAL CHANGE IN HUMANITY?

THE FALL OF MAN 1. ADAM & EVE > lived a life of perfect happiness with God. > the only thing that God demanded from them was that they live according to their created nature, obedient to their Creator. > when God Made Adam and Eve , He did not build into them one necessary way of acting according to instincts.

STAGES BEFORE COMMITTING SIN Genesis 3:1-7 1. Doubt: Did God really… 2. Opposition: You will not die 3. Look 4. Pleasing

5. Desirable 6. Took 7. Eat 8. Ashamed

 Instead God GIVE them intellect and will to make full use of their liberty.

 In the story of the Fall , the tempter distorts the authentic view of God and His command to the man and woman. “ Did God really tell you not to eat from any of the trees in the garden? ( Gen. 3:1)  The woman showed that she knew the commandment perfectly and that the tempter could not trap her through her ignorance. The woman answered the serpent : We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden. It is only about the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden that God said, You shall not eat it or even touch it , lest you die” ( Gen. 3:4-5) .

WHAT CAUSES OF SIN? 1. PRIDE 2. JEALOUSY 3. SELF-CENTERED 4. ARROGANCE 5. CURIOSITY 6. MISTRUST 7. AMBITION

Committing a sinful act becomes an occasion for others to sin. A sin of one becomes a temptation to others.  Sin

not only hurts the person but also strains interpersonal relationships.

UNCREATION STORY • IN THE BEGINNING WAS EARTH AND IT WAS BEAUTIFUL AND MAN LIVED UPON THE EARTH AND MAN SAID: “LET US BUILD A SKYSCRAPERS AND EXPRESSWAYS, AND MAN COVERED THE EARTH WITH STEEL AND CONCRETE AND MAN SAID: IT IS GOOD.”

 Man & woman were created in God’s image and likeness . They were given life, freedom and destiny and intended to be like God, but in God’s ways and with God means .  Temptation is the attraction to sin .  Temptation also offered to all in such alluring ways that often human beings succumb to it.

 Sin is turning away from the love of God who calls all to relate in love with Him and to others.

• ON THE SECOND DAY: MAN LOOKED UP ON THE CLEAR BLUE WATERS OF THE EARTH AND MAN SAID: LET US DUMP OUR SEWAGE AND WASTES INTO THE WATERS. AND MAN DID. THE WATERS BECAME DARK AND MURKY AND MAN SAID: IT IS GOOD.

• ON THE THIRD DAY. MAN GAZED AT THE FORESTS ON THE EARTH. THEY WERE TALL AND GREEN. AND MAN SAID: LET US CUT THE TREES TO BUILD THINGS FOR OURSELVES. AND MAN DID. AND THE FORESTS GREW THIN AND MAN SAID: IT IS GOOD.

• ON THE FIFTH DAY. MAN FELT THE COOL BREEZE IN HIS NOSTRILS AND MAN SAID: LET US BURN OUR REFUSE AND LET THE WIND BLOW AWAY THE SMOKE AND DEBRIS. AND MAN DID. AND THE AIR BECAME DENSE WITH SMOKE AND CARBON. AND MAN SAID: IT IS GOOD.

• ON THE SEVENTH DAY. MAN RESTED AND THE EARTH WAS QUIET AND DEATHLY STILL. FOR MAN WAS NO MORE AND IT WAS GOOD.

• ON THE FOURTH DAY. MAN SAW THE ANIMALS LEAPING IN THE FIELDS AND PLAYING IN THE SUN. AND MAN SAID: LET US TRAP THE ANIMALS FOR MONEY AND SHOOT THEM FOR SPORT. AND MAN DID AND THE ANIMALS BECAME SCARCE AND MAN SAID: IT IS GOOD.

• ON THE SIXTH DAY. MAN SAW THE MANY KINDS OF PEOPLE ON THE EARTH—DIFFERENT IN RACE, COLOR AND CREED. AND MAN FEARED AND SAID: LET US MAKE BOMBS AND MISSILES IN CASE OF MISUNDERSTANDING ARISE. AND MAN DID. AND MISSILES SITES AND BOMB DUMPS CHECKERED THE LANDSCAPE AND MAN SAID: IT IS GOOD.
