Daily inspection checklist shall be available in the vehicle. Daily inspection checklist shall include all basic vehicle equipment, such as tires, brakes, lights, fluid levels, glass mirrors, etc., and all required safety equipment (fire extinguisher, first aid kit). Driver shall inspect the vehicle daily using this checklist and performing a 360 degree walk-around before getting into the vehicle. Deficiencies found in the daily vehicle inspection shall be corrected immediately at the nearest repair facility. Any damage to the vehicle to shall be reported immediately to the supervisor in charge. Vehicle shall be properly equipped for remote areas before operating in remote locations. Reflective triangles shall be used to warn approaching traffic if vehicle is damaged, is blocking traffic or is stopped on the road. Vehicles shall not be left unattended while engine is running.

Bus Marshall shall be assigned in every vehicle to control and guide that employees can safely get in and out. Horse playing shall be forbidden at any time. Vehicle shall be provided with proper handrails, steps or similar devices to ensure that employees can safely get inside.

Bus Marshall shall be assigned in every vehicle to perform a head count in order to ensure no employee is left behind. Single straight line shall be implemented while workers are entering the vehicle.

Admin. Department / Transport Manager shall ensure that there are enough vehicles for all workers. Driver and Bus Marshall shall ensure that there is no overloading of passengers inside the vehicle. Log sheet for departure / arrival of vehicle shall be provided to monitor the travel time. The number of passengers shall not exceed the manufacturer’s design specification for the vehicle. All occupants shall wear seatbelt. Driver shall insist that all passengers fasten their seatbelts before starting any trip.

Drivers shall abide by all Saudi Arabia Government traffic regulations and Saudi Arabia traffic requirements at all times in all locations. Drivers shall not exceed the speed limit at any time. Drivers shall not use mobile phone, eat or drink while driving. Drivers shall not use or be under the influence of intoxicants or medications that cause impairment to judgment or physical ability to operate the vehicle. Drivers shall obey the direction of traffic flow. Driving on the wrong side of a divided highway is prohibited. Drivers shall bring vehicles to a complete stop at stop signs and red traffic lights before proceeding again. Driver shall always use turn signals when switching lanes and making turns. Drivers shall never tailgate or drive too close to another vehicle. Drivers shall always determine whether they are at a safe distance when following another vehicle by staying always at least three second behind any vehicle that is directly in front of them (estimating this time with any distinct and fixed point of the roadway). Drivers shall reduce speed under hazardous weather or road conditions, or even stop the vehicle completely if the situation so requires.

Foreman shall ensure that no worker without valid ID card and no visitor shall perform any work at Site. Supervisor / Foreman shall be responsible for conducting TBT specific to the activity in a clear manner, using this JSA as reference. Supervisor / Foreman shall translate the TBT in a language that workers can easily understand. Supervisor / Foreman shall quiz the workforce and address specific and direct work related hazards and emergency procedures questions to ensure they understand the precautions and methods to be followed. Supervisor / Foreman shall check personal protective equipment of each crew prior to the start of the activities.

All new workers shall be assigned with a designated person to guide them and familiarize them with the work, the place and the activities. All workers shall be guided by the Supervisor.

Job planning shall take into consideration all HSE aspects and preventive measures when conduction the joint site visit prior to planning. All approved relevant documentation and pertinent information shall be available (Method Statement, Job Safety Analysis, etc.).

Prior to start of the work, the following facilities must be provided: rest shelter, portable toilet, water drinking stations, eye wash, prayer area, washing area. Rest shelter shall have enough space for all personnel in the area and will be provided with fans. Drinking water shall be renewed first thing every morning before commencing the activities, and shall be kept cold by using ice and insulating materials. Access and walkways shall be kept free from obstructions. Areas shall be maintained clean and free from any obstruction. Proper storage area shall be provided to keep all tools and materials stored in it. All personnel at Site shall wear high visibility vest at all times when working at Site. All working areas shall install proper barricade and signs as required for the activities performed in it. Pedestrian movement shall be separated from vehicle movement.

10.1 Fall of material from the trailer

All personnel shall report Security when any dangerous animals are found at Site (snakes, scorpions, dessert foxes, dogs, etc.). Work place shall be kept clean and free from any waste food. All workers shall wear the minimum personal protective equipment required for the project (safety helmet, safety glasses, high visibility vest, safety shoes) and for the specific activity being carried out (e.g. adequate safety gloves). Items that may pose a biological risk shall be adequately disposed of.

Use cut resistance gloves while handling cable tray edges and metal sheets. Use softener while lifting the trays to avoid damage to slings. Barricade the trays with sign “temporary material storage” All electrical tools using are to be inspected and color coded by a competent person. Power supply cord shall be double insulated and in good condition. Power connections taken through ELCB Machines shall be TURNED OFF when not in use and check its switch before plugging to outlet. Machines having dead man switch only to be used for the activity. Be sure that any live electrical plugs and cords are away from a wet floor or any water source.

Before the activity starts foreman shall identify the possible pinch points and shall be delivered at tool box meeting. Keep off your fingers in between trays. Extra care shall be used when working during sand storm or mild rains. Supervisor shall carefully monitor the visibility of the area and act accordingly. Work shall be stopped when Supervisor assesses the situation to be dangerous for the life or health of workers. Any lifting activity shall be stopped when the wind speed is more than 9 m/s or 32 km/h.

Rest shelters shall be provided with enough room for all personnel in the area, shade and fans. Humidity and temperature shall be monitored and displayed at Site with flags according to the level. Workers shall always work in pairs when required. Work on scaffolds and elevated areas shall be stopped when temperature is 50º C or more. Workers shall be instructed to drink water on regular intervals according to the heat level. Drinking water shall be renewed first thing every morning before commencing the activities, and shall be kept cold by using ice and insulating materials. Workers shall be informed and trained in the effects of heat on the body and the preventive and control measures to avoid it. Heat Stress Program shall be implemented. Protective clothing providing cooling shall be considered for extreme cases. Proper PPE according to the weather conditions shall be used (e.g.: rubber boots). Rest shelters shall be provided with enough room for all personnel in the area, shade and rain and sand protection.

Housekeeping shall be held on a daily basis at the end of the shift. Proper time shall be allocated for this purpose. Unsafe conditions due to poor housekeeping shall be immediately eliminated from the workplace. All construction waste and unwanted materials shall be removed from Site on a daily basis. Horse playing shall be forbidden at any time. Access and walkways shall be kept free from obstructions. Areas shall be maintained clean and free from any obstruction. Proper storage area shall be provided to keep all tools and materials stored in it. All nails in wood and timber shall be removed. All unused wood and timber must be properly storage and de-nailed in a properly separated and barricaded area, with adequate signs for identification. All workers shall wear the minimum personal protective equipment required for the project (safety helmet, safety glasses, high visibility vest, safety shoes) and for the specific activity being carried out (e.g. abrasion leather gloves). Adequate number of trash bins shall be provided.

Emergency contact number shall be clearly posted in the working area. Ambulance driver and nurse shall be at Site at all times. Proper emergency communication equipment (radio, phone) shall be provided. Ambulance driver shall patrol the Site on a daily basis to familiarize himself with the available route at the moment. All access ways shall always be kept free from any obstruction. Ambulance driver shall always have the most updated plot plan of Site with all available routes, with revision number, date and signature. Ambulance inspection checklist shall be kept inside the ambulance at all times. Ambulance inspection checklist shall include all mechanical components for the safe use of the ambulance and the status of the gas deposit, and shall have a revision number, date and signature. Ambulance inspection checklist shall be translated to the language of the ambulance driver. Driver shall perform inspection of the ambulance on a daily basis using the inspection checklist. Driver shall receive the necessary training in order to be able to perform these inspections. Ambulance shall be regularly serviced as required by the manufacturer.

Daily inspection checklist shall be available in the vehicle. Daily inspection checklist shall include all basic vehicle equipment, such as tires, brakes, lights, fluid levels, glass mirrors, etc., and all required safety equipment (fire extinguisher, first aid kit). Driver shall inspect the vehicle daily using this checklist and performing a 360 degree walk-around before getting into the vehicle. Deficiencies found in the daily vehicle inspection shall be corrected immediately at the nearest repair facility. Any damage to the vehicle to shall be reported immediately to the supervisor in charge. Vehicle shall be properly equipped for remote areas before operating in remote locations. Reflective triangles shall be used to warn approaching traffic if vehicle is damaged, is blocking traffic or is stopped on the road. Vehicles shall not be left unattended while engine is running.

Bus Marshall shall be assigned in every vehicle to control and guide that employees can safely get in and out. Horse playing shall be forbidden at any time. Vehicle shall be provided with proper handrails, steps or similar devices to ensure that employees can safely get inside.

Bus Marshall shall be assigned in every vehicle to perform a head count in order to ensure no employee is left behind. Single straight line shall be implemented while workers are entering the vehicle.

Admin. Department / Transport Manager shall ensure that there are enough vehicles for all workers. Driver and Bus Marshall shall ensure that there is no overloading of passengers inside the vehicle. Log sheet for departure / arrival of vehicle shall be provided to monitor the travel time. The number of passengers shall not exceed the manufacturer’s design specification for the vehicle. All occupants shall wear seatbelt. Driver shall insist that all passengers fasten their seatbelts before starting any trip.
