Run ETAP Across the Network Additional Considerations Some consideration will still need to be given to where the user files are located. etaps.ini – All users will use the same settings if this file is located in the shared ETAP folder on the server. Users will have individual settings if this file is located on the client computer in the Windows folder. Any entry in the Tools->Options (Preferences) dialog that uses the predefined list: User Common Local App will behave as follows. The User, Common and Local selections will all use the client machine to save the files in question. The App entry will save the file in the application folder where the etaps.exe file resides (on the server in this case). The user must have write/delete/create privileges in the ETAP folder on the server to use this setting. An exception will be thrown without this permission. A user-specified value can also be entered but the user will still need to have these permissions for any path that is entered.
