Setting up a UDM in current version.

Whenever you create a new UDM model or modify any parameter of an existing UDM model the following needs to be done: 1. Copy the UDM file ‘*.mdl’ and paste it to its corresponding folder: ETAP Version XXX\UDM\Exc, ETAP XXX\UDM\Gov, or ETAP XXX\UDM\PSS. Where XXX is the version number you are currently working with. 2. 3. 4. 5.

Open the ETAP project file Open the sync. generator editor (in the one-line diagram) associated tot the UDM model Go to the ‘Exciter’ or ‘Governor’ tab and select corresponding UDM model Click on the ‘Compile UDM’ button • Select initialization method (in UDM Compiler dialog box): ‘Iterative’ • Click on the ‘Compile’ button • Click OK button (in Exciter/Governor tab of System Variable Name Mapping) • Once the Translation is finished, click OK • Click OK again (in UDM Compiler dialog box) 6. Close the sync. generator editor The ‘bin’ file is generated after the compiling process above is completed successfully.
