IR & HIGH VOLTAGE TEST

   Equipment  : New cubicle     Test Instruments:    a) High Voltage Test (AC)‐ 2500 V kit  b) Megger 1000V DC    

Procedure    1.   2.   3.   4.   5.

Switch ON all the outgoing feeders.  Switch OFF all Control voltage circuit MCB’s.  Confirm main earth connected to the new cubicle before starting the HV Test.  Carry out the insulation resistance test with 1000V DC before HV Test between each phase and  other phases & Neutral shorted and earthed.  Keep the remaining phases and Neutral busbars shorted together with the earth by shorting wires,  except the test phase of the busbar. 

  6. Connect the high voltage probe to the test Busbar and Earth from the test kit.    7. Increase the voltage slowly up 2500 V AC and wait for one minute.    8. Decrease the voltage to minimum value and switch off the test kit.    9. Discharge the main Busbar.    10. Repeat the same test for remaining phases of new cubicle.    11. Carry out Insulation resistance test after HV test.    End of Test.

TORQUE TIGHTNESS TEST

Torque Wrench 

Procedure    1. 2.

Take a torque wrench and set the knob in such a position that it will rotate the bolt in clockwise  direction.  Set the correct torque setting for each corresponding bolt as shown in the following table:    Bolt size (mm) Torque setting (Nm) 12 70 10 40 8 20   Rotate the torque wrench in clockwise direction until a click sound is heard. The click sound  indicates that the bolt is properly tightened.

Switch ON all the outgoing feeders.    Switch OFF all lower test voltage circuit MCB’s.    Confirm main earth connected to the panel before starting the Test.    Isolate neutral wire from bus bar, which is connected to the circuit.    The insulation resistance test with 100A DC for phase to phase (L1‐L1)    Record the results on test format

DOL STARTER FUNCTIONAL TEST

  New cubicle Outgoing Feeder  380V, 3PH, 3 wire supply, digital multi meter and  Phase sequence meter 

  Procedure    1. Check the MPCB ratings.    2. Connect the 3phase, 380V to the Main LVAC board    3. Switch ON the Main Incomer.    4. Operate the DOL Feeders through ON & OFF push buttons.    5. Inject the set value current of the OLR using Primary Injection Test set, The OLR should  not trip at this value of current at any point of time.   

6. Similarly Inject 2 times, 3times current and check the OLR Characteristics. The OLR trip  time should match with the respective Characteristics.    7. Check the Voltage at output terminals.    8.  Check the Phase sequence at output Terminals    9. Connect a 3‐Phase motor to the output terminals and start the DOL feeder through  ONOFF push buttons.        End of Test.

ELR WITH CBCT FUNCTIONAL TEST

:  

New cubicle Outgoing Feeder 



380V, 3PH, 3 wire supply, digital multi meter and  Phase sequence meter 

  Procedure    1. Check the CBCT ratings.  2.

Primary Injection Test. 

3.

Connect primary injection kit across P1‐P2 of CBCT. 

4.

Make sure that the CBCT secondary wirings are connected to the ELR. 

5.

Inject primary current and measure the CBCT secondary current in the relay circuit. 

6.

Record the results as per the test report.

PRE-COMMISSIONING PROCEDURE FOR NEW CUBICLE

 

1.

Obtain a work permit required prior to start the job. 

2.

Remove the main busbar side cover in new cubicle. 

3.

Connect the temporary power supply (3 Phase, 380V AC) to main busbar. 

4.

Connect  the  temporary  control  supply  (48V  DC  &  AC)  to  new  cubicle  as  per  the  schematic  drawings. 

5.

Connect the remote wiring to new cubicle as per the schematic drawings. 

6.

Connect a temporary grounding cable to new cubicle. 

7.

Switch on the power feeder MPCB, MCB, control relays, lamps. 

8.

Press the lamp test (SLT) PB to check all lamp is working. 

9.

Switch ON breaker to energize compartment heater. 

10. Inject the set value current of the ELR using Primary Injection set and tripping to be observed.  11. Check the indication lamp and Voltage at output terminals.  12. Check the Phase Sequence at output terminals  13. Switch off the Temporary power supply (3 Phase, 380V AC) and Temporary control supply (48V  DC)  14. Remove  the  temporary  remote  wiring,  grounding  wire,  power  cable  and  control  cable  from  new cubicle.  15. Bring the new cubicle near to existing side cubicle.
